22ND DECEMBER 2019 4TH SUNDAY OF ADVENT Collect for this Sunday Eternal God, as Mary waited for the birth of your Son, so we wait for his coming in glory; bring us through the birth pangs of this present age to see, with her, our great salvaon in Jesus Christ our Lord. Readings for this week - RCL page 12 Isaiah 7.10-16, Psalm 80.1-7, 16-18, Romans 1.1-7, Mahew 1.18-25 Response to Psalm Restore us , O God of hosts; show the light of your countenance and we shall be saved. Post Communion Heavenly Father, who chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of the promised saviour: fill us your servants with your grace, that in all things we may embrace your holy will and with her rejoice in your salvaon; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Next week’s readings - RCL page 27 Isaiah 63.7-9, Psalm 148, Hebrews 2.10-18, Mahew 2.13-23 Gospel Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ All this took place to fulfil what had been spoken by the Lord

22ND DECEMBER 2019 4TH SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Collect for this Sunday Eternal God, as Mary waited for the birth of your Son, so we wait for his coming in glory; bring us through the birth pangs of this present age to see, with her, our great salvation in Jesus Christ our Lord. Readings for this week - RCL page 12 Isaiah 7.10-16, Psalm 80.1-7, 16-18, Romans 1.1-7, Matthew 1.18-25 Response to Psalm Restore us , O God of hosts; show the light of your countenance and we shall be saved. Next week’s readings - RCL page 27 Isaiah 63.7-9, Psalm 148, Hebrews 2.10-18, Matthew 2.13-23 Gospel Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. through the prophet: ‘Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel’, which means, ‘God with us.’ When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took her as his wife, but had no marital relations with her until she had borne a son; and he named him Jesus. _______________________________________________
