A Remembrance Poem for Mrs. Evelyn Falk
“Being content in her way of life Teaching and gardening became her pride Let us in prayer join for our dear friend As Heavens Gates will open wide.” ~Andy Wingeier Sr.
On February 6th, Mrs. Evelyn Falk passed away at the age of 103 years. Mrs. Falk was a teacher at North Col-lins District No 2 which was a one room school house. She taught grades from 1st thru 8th, and was an outstand-ing and well liked teacher. She finished her teaching ca-reer at North Collins Central School. Our local poet, Andy Wingeier, was one of her 3rd grade students, and her wish was for him to write poetry for her funeral.

The following local students made the Dean's List for fall 2014-2015 semester at Rochester Institute of Technology: Samantha Pustulka of Eden is a fifth-year student in the chemical engineering program in RIT's Kate Gleason Col-lege of Engineering. A memorial service was held Wednesday Feb 18, 2015 In Boynton Beach Florida.

Marie E. Yingling Marie E. Yingling of Eden died February 14th, 2015. Marie was the devoted wife of 62 years of Jim Yingling; Mother of Tina (Dave) Cole, Marian Engle, Dave (Grace), Steve (Leslie), Theresa (Joe) Buziak, Sue (Ken) Gard-ner, Jane (Dan) Lochner and the late Kathleen Yin-gling, also survived by 18 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren which were her pride and joy. Sister of Michael (Ermy) Ruggiere, Catherine (John) Nedimyer and late James Ruggiere. Marie was an avid gar-dener and grew her own produce as well as beauti-ful flower beds. She enjoyed baking and you could always find treats & cookies galore in Grandma’s kitchen. As a self-taught musician, Marie was always involved in the music ministry and liturgy committee at Immaculate Conception parish. Visitation was held Wednesday, February 18th at the Laing Funeral Home in Eden and a Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 19th from Immaculate Concep-tion Church in Eden. Students in Miss Cassi Johnson's Grade 3 are learning all about germs and how they spread. The kids sprinkled baby powder on their hands to represent the germs and put the black light on to see where they may have touched their hands around the class room. The kids washed their hands and then put the black light back to see how well they did. They were surprised that they had to go back and wash them again. The SCS Future City Club competed against several oth-er schools at Mount Saint Mary Academy on January 24th. The Future City Competition is a national, project-based learning experience where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade imagine, design, and build cities of the future. Students in Mrs. Jennifer Hill's Grade 2 class are study-ing animals from around the world. Every student had to pick an animal and research it. The diorama had to include the animal, where the animal lived and what the animal eats. When they were done, everyone had to present their animal to the class.
