As one of the largest and busiest units in the UK the range of work encompasses the whole remit of OMFS; adult and paediatric craniofacial surgery, all aspects of cleft care, facial deformity, facial trauma and head and neck oncology. We welcome applications from those who have completed or are nearing completion of their own training programme wishing to gain additional subspecialty experience or those considering a career in OMFS (or other surgical specialties) who want additional exposure to the specialty. For those with an interest in research there are excellent opportunities. These posts have been created to support the introduction of a compliant out-of-hours SpR ST rota for the West of Scotland, and the successful candidates will participate on the regional on call rota as second on call (1 in 10). Within the inpatient facilities we currently provide care within conditions of low security and close supervision at Leverndale Hospital. In addition to the low secure services, we provide medium secure services at Rowanbank Clinic based on the Stobhill Hospital site in the North of the City of Glasgow. We are currently recruiting Band 3 Nursing Assistants to work within the National Medium Secure Learning Disability Service. These vacancies are primarily located within both our learning disability service and our female service at Rowanbank Clinic and will at times involve working with patients with personality disorder or challenging behaviour. The model of care includes a multidisciplinary team approach to monitoring and supporting therapeutic staff-patient relationships. An SVQ III in health care or working towards or equivalent experience working in a caring environment is required together with the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team, effective communication skills, knowledge of ward procedures and policies and the ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment. An interest in working with Learning Disabled Offenders and Women Offenders would be desirable. This is an ideal opportunity for a physicist to develop their career by working in both Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT in a centre with some of the most advanced imaging facilities available. A new, state of the art, PET-CT Centre has recently been established in Glasgow; it has a GE Discovery ST scanner which is supported by an on-site cyclotron. A second PET-CT system has been procured and plans are in place for its installation. A new, state of the art, Nuclear Medicine Department has also been established recently on the same site which performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The equipment includes 4 gamma cameras one of which has SPECT-CT capability. The new facilities are bright, spacious and provide a pleasant working environment. You will operate in both PET-CT and Nuclear Medicine. It is anticipated that the department will continue to expand its research profile and you will be expected to play a lead role in this. You will have a 1st or upper 2nd class Honours degree in Physics or Engineering and either have or be working towards a PhD in Physics, Medical Physics or a related subject. Registration as a Clinical Scientist (Medical Physics) with the Health Professions Council and Postgraduate Scientific Diploma of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) or equivalent experience are essential. We require an individual who enjoys working with children to join the paediatric pulmonary function laboratory based in Lanarkshire and Glasgow. You will participate in all areas of the department; this includes a comprehensive range of clinical procedures such as full lung function tests with plethysmography, helium dilution, transfer factor, spirometry, reversibility studies, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, allergy testing, bronchial challenge testing, oesophageal reflux studies and various sleep investigations. You will work between Wishaw General Hospital, Paediatric Ward, (2 days) and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Yorkhill, Glasgow, (0.5 of a day). You will be flexible with your working pattern to meet the service needs. Clinical Nurse Specialist – Paediatric Full Time, 37.5 hours per week (Scotland)

Work towards becoming an autonomous practitioner providing holistic care for people with the rare, genetic skin disorder - Epidermolysis Bullosa.

A new development post of a Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist has arisen at Band 6 rising to Band 7 after a suitable period. This is a full time position working 5 days (37.5 hours) per week. A considerable amount of flexibility is required as is a full driving licence, own vehicle and a willingness to travel extensively.

This post will involve hospital and community based work, including outreach diagnosis and support of neonates, families, and local professionals, community visits to homes and schools, and co-ordination of hospital inpatient and outpatient care.

Working as part of a large, well established team working throughout the UK. There will be opportunities to participate in research, audit, and attend conferences. The post will provide opportunities to develop your wound care practice and liaison skills in a well supported environment. Previous knowledge of EB is not a necessity but experience of working in the community is an advantage.

Salary will be aligned with NHS pay scales and you will also benefit from your continued NHS pension.
