The next two weeks will be fun in regards to homework. Our BFG jars will be a great new addition to our classroom, they can be made any way you want. They do not have to be written on with glass pens. However if you want to that's fine. This will be a great opportunity for the students to focus on their sight words. Homework is due Thursday of next week! Mrs Begley
Rosellas. This week students have been learning about preserving natural landmarks in Australia. We discussed the definition and looked at different ways we can help look after these areas. This was the first week we started doing Cosmic Yoga in the classroom for our brain breaks with the aim of keeping kids more focused throughout the day. Don't forget your Brazil projects are due this Friday! If you have any questions or need any assistance don't hesitate to ask. Miss Reilly Miss Reilly.

THIS WEEK IN THE
KITCHEN GARDEN
What’s Growing?
This week students were busy in the
garden planting squash seeds. The
students tested the PH level in the soil
to make sure it was healthy before
digging holes and planting the seeds in the garden beds.
Squash can be sown directly into the
garden or started indoors. Summer
and winter squash are commonly planted in hills about 1 inch deep. Sow
seeds only after any danger of frost
has ended and the soil has warmed.
Usually, only 4 to 5 seeds per hill is
plenty, thinning down to 2 or 3 plants
per hill once the seedlings have developed their true leaves.
Check daily when harvesting squash
plants, as these crops grow quickly,
especially in hot weather. You should harvest squash frequently to
encourage more production and pick
the fruits while still small. Squash that
is overly ripe becomes hard, seedy and
loses its flavour. The summer varieties
should be gathered before the seeds have fully ripened and while the rinds
are still soft.

Hi bankers.
Wow, only two more weeks left of term 3. Time definitely has flown by this year. I would just like to say how proud I am of all the Super Savers at the school.
Parents, if you would like to open a new account for your child, please don't hesitate to contact myself or Cheryl Johnson at the school Friday mornings. If they have an existing account with Commonwealth all I need is their account number and I can simply put them straight in the system.
This term we have an Backtrack Eraser Pen and a Jump and Skip rope as rewards.
This year we're giving students the chance to win a family trip for up to two adults and three children to explore Australia Zoo and meet Bindi and Robert Irwin.
Students who make 15 or more School Banking deposits by the end of Term 3, 2016 will be automatically entered into the draw. This is another great way to motivate students to save regularly and reach their savings goals.
Find out more at www.commbank.com.au/schoolbanking If there are any parents still wishing to open an account, please do not hesitate in contacting me at the school office on Wednesdays or Friday Mornings. Lisa Madden - School Banking Coordinator
Clothing Pool Summer order forms were sent out previously. A further copy is on the back of this newsletter. Please return completed forms and payment to the office by next Tuesday 20 September 2016. A further copy of the form is attached. If you require any uniforms I am available at school Wednesday afternoons from 2:30pm or by appointment only on other days. You can contact me on 0432614097.
