How would nature do it? Researchers at the VTT Technical
Research Centre of Finland may be discovering the answer,
thanks to advancing solar and 3D printing technologies. They
have developed some very decorative prototypes of what they
are calling “energy harvesting trees”. The tiny leaves generate
and store solar energy and can be used to power small
appliances and mobile devices. They flourish indoors and
outdoors and can also harvest kinectic energy from wind and
temperature changes in the surrounding environment.
The tree’s leaves are actually flexible organic solar cells,
printed using well established mass-production techniques.
Each leaf has a separate power converter, creating a multi
converter system that makes it possible to collect energy from a
variety of sources like solar, wind and heat temperature. The
more solar panels there are in a tree, the more energy it can
harvest. The trunks are 3D printed using wood-based bio-
composites. They are mass producible and can be infinitely
replicated.
How do they work? How do they work? How do they work?

India’s Longest BridgeIndia’s Longest BridgeIndia’s Longest Bridge
The Bhupen Hazarika Setu (Dhola–Sadiya Bridge), is a beam bridge in India, connecting the northeast states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The bridge spans the Lohit River, a major tributary of the Brahmaputra River, from the village of Dhola in the South to Sadiya to the North. At 9.15 kilometres (5.69 mi) in length, it is the longest bridge in India.
However, the New Ganga Bridge Project under construction in the Indian state of Bihar, is expected to become the longest bridge in India upon its completion, with a length of 9.8 kilometres (6.1 mi). With rapid movement of India's defense assets in mind the Dhola–Sadiya Bridge has been designed to handle the weight of 60-tonne (130,000-pound) Indian Army's main battle tanks.
Inaugurated on 26 May 2017 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the bridge is 3.55 kilometres (2.21 mi) longer than the Bandra Worli Sea Link in Mumbai, making it the longest bridge in India. The bridge is named after Bhupen Hazarika, famous musician, poet, filmmaker and lyricist from Assam. It will boost communication across eastern Arunachal Pradesh saving estimated three to four hours journey from Assam to the Arunachal-China border.
