The load requirement has involved the transportation and installation of three 6MVA Loadbanks, three 5.8MVA Transformers operating at 6Kv 60Hz, 3-phase, 100m of medium voltage cable and one 200KVA auxiliary supply generator. "PDQ rig is one of the five rigs built and commissioned in or around Baku to serve the Azeri oilfield all operating in the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan. Load testing has been carried out on all the rigs during the commissioning stage," Daryl Robinson, Business Development Manager at Crestchic Limited, told WIP. The testing equipment for these platforms was transported by sea, rail and road to Azerbaijan, the equipment supplied was 3 x 20ft 5.8MVA containerised transformers, 3 x 20ft 6.0MVA Resistive Reactive containerised Crestchic loadbank rental bound for Baku, Azerbaijan loadbanks and one cable container with all medium voltage and low voltage cables. Most of the project equipment has been installed and operated by Crestchic engineers. Crestchic works in partnership with a local generator rental company 'Rutland Diesels Services' (RDS) on all the projects in the Caspian region. Crestchic became part of the Northbridge Industrial Services group in 2006 and RDS was also acquired in 2009. The 15,850 tonne topside was sailed away in the latter part of 2006 into 150m water depth on the east side of Azeri Field. Operating one generator set of Rolls Royce RB211 gas turbines, the platform is set to increase the oil yield by around 800,000 extra barrels per year. RDS has been operating in the Caspian region since 1995, and supplies rental generator's from 16kVA-1400kVA in single units, lighting towers and welding equipment and sales of generators.
