Authentic Learning Focus on application of knowledge: Project-based, problem-based, inquiry learning, industry partnerships, internships and career pathways
Student-centered LearningStudent voice, choice of materials, flexible pacing, personal interests may be considered in the design of lessons. It could be based on the definitions of “individualization, differentiation, and personalization” [define]. In some cases, student-centered instruction is also defined as outcomes-based learning.
Fostering mindsets for life-long learningAutonomy, self-efficacy, citizenship, leadership, management, collaboration and communication skills
Deeper learningHigher order thinking skills, including analysis, synthesis, critical thinking and creativity21st C survival skills --- Digital literacy, global citizenship, compassion, empathy, conflict management/debating skills, team-building, etc.
