preparation.
The end of this week marks the halfway point of the term. As part of our Be You programme and encouraging positive

“Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all
your heart, with all your soul,
and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first
commandment. The second
resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these
two commandments hang the
whole Law, and the Prophets too.’ ”

This term we have been looking at Narrative writing. As a
whole class we have read lots of our favourite fairy tales and we
are able to identify who is in the story, what is happening, when
did it happen, where did it take place and why did it happen.
Students are also attempting to write about the narrative and
make up our own. We have been using lots of resources around
the room including word charts on the walls and tables as well
as asking friends.

PARENT PICK UP & DROP OFF AREA We are currently experiencing a number of traffic flow issues
with our Parent Pick Up and Drop off area at afternoon
dismissal. These issues are currently leading to traffic
congestion on Gsell street, traffic jams in the Parent Pick Up
area and dangerous collection of students.
In order to assist with overcoming these issues you can help in
the following ways:
Do not park in front of the school
automatic gate prior to the opening of
the gates of an afternoon.
Do not park your car in the parent pick
up area and leave your vehicle there.
Do not park or sit idle on the road that
runs through our parent pick up area
If all the waiting bays are full please
drive through and park in the visitor car
park or drive around again.
Thank you for your cooperation with this important issue that
relates to the work health and safety of the children and staff
here at Holy Spirit.

Dear Families,
RE: Emailing Semester 2 Academic Reports
In a move to improve home-school communication you may have noticed that in recent years we
have started moving away from hardcopy notices and adopted a more paperless approach to
contacting parents and carers through Class Dojo, the School App and email.
With this in mind, I am pleased to inform families that your child’s Academic Report will now be
emailed to parents and carers as of Term 4, 2019. It is vital that we have updated e-mail addresses if
we are to communicate with you effectively. Please email [email protected] with
your preferred email address or visit the School App and click on the ‘Academic Report sign up’ tab.
Please be assured that Academic Reports will not be sent to people who are not listed on your child’s
enrolment form.
We will still continue with our present system for those parents who express a preference for paper-
based reports. If you would like to opt out of receiving an emailed copy of your child’s Academic
Report and would prefer a hardcopy, please complete the form below and return to the front office by
Friday, the 6th
September, 2019.
Kind Regards,
Simon Duffy
Principal

Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School
14 August 2019 Dear Parents/Carers At this time of year we are establishing class groupings for 2020. We are also in negotiations with the Catholic Education Office in regard to our staffing for next year. It is important that we have correct data to inform this process. Staff put many hours into ensuring that class groupings are balanced in terms of the academic and social needs of our students. This initial process began last term. It is important that you complete this form to communicate with us your needs for 2020. Class groupings may undertake some change into the New Year as enrolment figures can change over the next weeks with new enrolments from interstate. A request for a specific teacher is not something we can accommodate. Each of our teachers bring different qualities to the learning environment and it is important that our students develop strategies to work with these differences. However families know their children well, so if there is any consideration that will inform class groupings it is important that you let us know as soon as possible so that class cohorts can be finalised. In 2020 we will need to establish a number of classroom structures that may include single class groupings as well as composite groupings. These various structures allow us to spread our students into groupings that meet the needs of all of our learners. Please return this form by Friday the 23rd of August. Kind regards Yours sincerely Mr. Simon Duffy Principal
