Tips
• Always clean both ends (plug & jack) just before mating for preventing cross contamination.
• If you use canned air dusters in your cleaning regiment, always hold the cans upright to prevent the moisture contamination from the air stream.
• Always clean fiber end faces after blowing connectors with canned air dusters to remove dust particles that may have landed on ferrule surface.
• Remember the SMPTE 304M has electrical contacts so take precautions when using solvents to avoid shorting the circuit.
• Never look directly at the fiber end faces unless you know the signal is off - the wavelength for the optical signal wavelength is 1100nm to 1350nm which is beyond visibility of the human eye.
