In your own words, summarize what you have learned about Implementing a small network.

NOTE: Please write your answers to each question in a different color font to make this easier for the Professor to grade.Implementing a Small Network Lab (15 points)Write a paragraph (minimum five college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this weeks TCOs and other course material, and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (3 points)In this weeks lab we learned mostly about switchports and they operate. To help us get the necessary information we used commands like ping, duplex 100, line con 0, vty 0 4, and others. If a security violation happens on a switch it will shut down the port by default. I found this lab easy to understand and conquer. I am looking forward to next weeks lab and what else we will learn in future.

Copy and paste the following screenshots from your Implementing a Small Network lab below.

Task 1, Step 5: Paste a screenshot showing the sequence of commands that you used to configure the management VLAN on NYCORE1. (1 point)

Question: A switch is a Layer 2 device and so forwards frames based on the MAC addresses of source and destination devices. Why are we assigning an IP address to a switch?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (2 points) Because any packet sourced from the switch outside the network are sent to the default gateway.Task 1, Step 14: Paste a screenshot showing the sequence of commands that you used to configure interfaces fa1/0/1 on switch NYCORE1. (1 point)

Question: What is the purpose of the command switchport port-security max 1 that was issued on this port?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (2 points) Because the switchport tells the switch to only allow one mac address to use that particular port.

Task 1, Step 19: Paste a screenshot showing port security that you enabled on switch NYCORE1. (1 point)

Question: According to the security output, what action will be taken by the switch in the event that it detects the attachment of an unauthorized device?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (2 points) When a violation happens the switch shuts down the port. Task 1, Step 26: Paste a screenshot showing the successful ping of the NYEDGE2 Loopback0. (1 point)

Question: Which network can be accessed by two paths? Why?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (2 points)

Managing Remote Access Sessions Lab (15 points)Write a paragraph (minimum five college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this weeks TCOs and other course material, and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (3 points)In this lab we learned about remote access, telnet commands, and show sessions command. To activate to a remote router or switch press crtl+shift+6 then press x and you will be able to access other routers or switches. We used other commands such as show users, exit, and disconnect 2 to properly demonstrate how to operate remote devices. I enjoyed doing this lab because I think its pretty cool that we are able to access other devices by using telnet and a combination of keys. I am looking forward to other new things we can learn in this networking class.

Copy and paste the following screenshots from your Managing Remote Access Sessions lab below. Task 1, Step 5 and 6: Paste a screenshot showing the commands that you entered into router NYEDGE1 configuring the command and history buffers. (1 point)

Question: What operation must be performed in order for the history size of 100 to be available to all users?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (2 points)

You must change the size of the history size to 100 and configure the console ports or vty lines.

Task 1, Step 14: Paste a screenshot showing your successful telnet into router NYEDGE2. (1 point)

Question: What steps have to be performed on a router or switch in order to allow remote access?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (2 points) The router or switch must be remotely accessed through telnet with the given address

Task 1, Step 19: Paste a screenshot showing your currently active telnet sessions. (1 point)

Question: What is the significance of the asterisk next to the connection number? This indicates the last telnet session you had.

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (2 point)

Question: What is the key stroke sequence used to suspend a telnet session?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (1 point)

CRTL+SHIFT+6, then press x

Question: To view your active remote connections, you issue the show connections command. Once you have identified an existing connection to which you would like to reconnect, what command would you issue?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (1 point)

Show sessions

Question: To view your active remote connections, you issue the show connections command. Once you have identified existing connections, what command would you issue to terminate a specific connection?

*Hint* Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (1 point)

Disconnect
