100K Route Guide

Due to construction on US83 south of Bradshaw, the 100K route for the 2021 Tour de Gap

had to be altered. Also, in an effort to keep cyclist off of US277 from FM1086 to FM89, we

were able to provide a scenic route of numerous county roads. Once you return to Lemon

Gap Rd, you will proceed south on Lemon Gap for another loop. There will be 3 rest stops

on your route. We are excited to inform you that with this route there is only 6.8 miles of

the route on US83.

In addition, please refer to the Tour de Gap website for more information:

https://tourdegap.com/category/routes/

You may also check out the route on https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1563822

We hope that this info guide will provide you some needed information prior to the your

ride on Saturday, July 24th.

First Segment:

• Begins at the starting line in Buffalo Gap

• Ends at the south end of Lemon Gap Rd & US83

This is a 10.9 mile section has always been a favorite part of the Tour de

Gap for the longer rides. You proceed south out of Buffalo Gap on

FM613 and then continue south onto Lemon Gap Rd. This 10.9 mile sec-

tions has 400 feet of elevation gain.

2nd Segment:

• Begins on US83 at the south end of Lemon Gap

• Ends on FM1086 & CR196

This is the next 8.2 mile section that has the cyclist on US83 for 3.4

miles; then a right turn on FM1086 for 4.8 miles before turning right on

CR196. This section has 117 feet of elevation gain.

3rd Segment:

• Begins at the CR196/FM1086 intersection

• Ends at Lemon Gap Rd & CR207

This is an 11.8 mile section on several county roads making your

way back to Lemon Gap Rd. Be sure and look for the direction signs

since there are 2 right turns and 2 left turns in this section. This has

400 ft of elevation gain and for the most part you are climbing from

FM1086 back to Lemon Gap Rd.

PLEASE NOTE: Riders on the 100K course will be expected to pass the checkpoint at the 31 mile distance by 10:30

a.m. That is the intersection of Lemons Gap Rd. (County Road 181) and CR 207. Riders will be redirected to turn left

on Lemons Gap Rd after that time instead of completing the second loop. This is to ensure that everyone has the

chance to finish before the course closes at 1:30 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are racing the 100K and do not want to stop at the rest stops….there will be a designated

feed zone area on CR207 just 1/4 mile west of Lemon Gap Rd. It will be marked. You may park by the yellow/

green oil tanks. You must have someone to support you on this. Those supporting you must stay in the feed zone

area and stay on the south side of CR207. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY FLUIDS, ETC.

4th Segment:

• Begins at the Lemon Gap Rd

• Ends after completing another loop back to

Lemon Gap Rd

This is a 22.6 mile loop that is the same route previous

ridden using the following roads:

- Lemon Gap to US83

- US 83 to FM1086

- FM1086 to CR196

- CR196 back to CR207 to Lemon Gap Rd.

This loop provides over 500 feet of elevation gain. Please refer to the previous segments for other details.

5th & Final Segment:

• Begins at the Lemon Gap Rd/CR207 Intersec-

tion

• Ends at the finish line in Buffalo Gap

This is the final 8.4 mile section that takes you pretty

much downhill to Buffalo Gap. After you complete

your 2nd loop of the 100K Route, you turn left onto

Lemon Gap Rd. You will have a short climb to the top

of Lemon Gap and it is downhill to the finish line

from here AND IT WILL BE FAST!!

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL BE GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AT LEMON GAP RD

& FM613 AND CONTINUING STRAIGHT INTO BUFFALO GAP. THE COURSE MARSHAL

HERE WILL BE MOTIONING YOU TO SLOW DOWN AS YOU GO THROUGH THIS INTER-

SECTION. PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION HERE!!
