2021 tiger academy

2021 Tiger Academy Youth Spring Soccer Program The Tiger Academy is a program that focuses largely on skill development while working in a less competitive environment compared to the New Richmond Soccer Club. This is a great program for new players or players who aren’t quite ready to make that commitment to a longer season or want to give soccer a try to see if they like the sport. Players will develop their fundamental soccer skills through fun games, drills and team interaction. Players will be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate way. Our U4 group will focus on learning the basic skills of soccer and playing games with their coaches. Our U6 group will focus on skill development and play in structured games lead by their coaches. Our U8 group will be divided into teams and will play an in-house game schedule with a focus on skill development and learning the game. For our U10, U12 and U14 groups we will focus on both technical and tactical development and will play a small sided in-house game schedule. Our teams for this season will be co-ed at all levels. Whenever possible we will divide into girls teams and boys teams but ultimately we want to make sure every player gets a chance to participate. All players participating in the program receive a Tiger Academy shirt with registration. Participants provide shorts, shin guards, cleats, a soccer ball and a water bottle for practice or game. Practices and games will be held on Saturday mornings at Starr Elementary Fields or the High School Stadium turf field. We will follow covid protocols as outlined by the New Richmond School District. Coaches for this program will be parent volunteers and members of the boys high school soccer team. We are looking for one parent to help coach each team or group and those parents would receive free registration for their player. Let us know if you want to help out. Training is provided for all interested parents. You don’t have to know anything about soccer. If you have a desire to help out we will provide you everything you need to know. This program is a collaboration between Community Education and the New Richmond Boys and Girls Soccer programs. Registration is through Community Education and should be done on-line. Details are listed on the back of the flyer.
