Research shows that students need employment opportunities to prepare as they seek career opportunities. Program timeline: May 20, 2020 - July 24, 2020 Who should apply: Young adults, ages 17.5 to 24 years old. Students must be 17.5 by December 1, 2019 and a high school senior. Interns will work 40 hours per week with an employer that will offer hands on, interactive experience. Pay rate: $9 - $12 per hour INTERN’S APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 13, 2020 EMPLOYER’S APPLICATION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15, 2020 This program responds to the ongoing community needs for workforce development initiatives and summer employment opportunities for young adults. The program runs during the summer months of June and July. The interns will receive job readiness training at the University of South Alabama. The training modules include customer service, telephone etiquette, business etiquette, business writing, Microsoft Office, conflict management, time management and business math.
