PVGP HISTORICS AT PITT RACE – JULY 16-19

SCHENLEY PARK VINTAGE RACES– JULY 25-26 The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix has a rich history of racing through the stone-walled, tree-lined streets of Schenley Park since 1983 and at the world-class 2.8-mile Pitt Race Complex beginning in 2004. Our two unique race events provide the ideal combination of vintage and historic racing bookending a 10-day motorsport festival with 250,000 spectators.

Tow once and race twice! Race with us and the VRG at Pitt Race Complex on July 16-19 and the PVGP will securely store your rig at the track so you return the following weekend to run through the streets of Schenley Park with the VSCCA bolstering our racer grids.

The driving goal of the PVGP is to honor our automotive history by encouraging the preservation and racing of vintage cars in a format that emphasizes driver safety and etiquette, while presenting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our drivers – all to raise valuable funds for our autism and Intellectual and developmental disability charity partners.

VRG PARTNERSHIP The VRG and the PVGP are partnering and combining efforts for the PVGP Historics at Pitt Race starting in 2020. We look forward to a great weekend of racing and hope that many members come back for the second weekend at Schenley Park

TOW ONCE, RACE TWICE Our two tracks are only 42 miles apart with free and secure rig storage at Pitt Race you can tow your car in the first weekend, then return the following weekend and only have a short haul to get your rig to Schenley Park.

VSCCA TO BOLSTER GRIDS The Vintage Sports Car Club of America will bolster the grids at Schenley Park. They will bring their formidable group of Pre-War Cars and Sports Racers and Formula Cars. The VSCCA will approve cars for these two groups. Register through the PVGP.

LEGENDS OF SCHENLEY PARK We started this program in 2016 to honor the drivers who have raced at Schenley Park with us for 15 or more years. So far 60 racers have been honored and we will add to that in 2020.

CHARITY RIDES We stage charity rides to raise funds for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. Your participation is deeply appreciated. These rides also provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for race fans. Please consider participating at PIRC on Saturday and Sunday and at Schenley Park on Saturday.

SANCTIONING The PVGP sanctions both race weekends. We welcome licensed drivers from all vintage race organizations. We want to especially thank the racers at the VRG and the VSCCA who helped establish our races and will partner with us this year.
