This year, we also recognize Patricia Rios, Director, Global Accounts Strategy and Marketing of KPMG, as HITEC’s Member of the Year. She serves on both the HITEC Corporate Board of Advisors and the Foundation Board of DIrectors. Patricia has demonstrated above and beyond leadership and passion for HITEC and the community it serves.

We’re proud to recognize Nina Vaca, Chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Group with the Estrella Award. Nina is a trailblazing entrepreneur and a role model for the Hispanic community.

Scholars have received more than $450,000 in scholarship awards. The HITEC Foundation

HITEC 2020 ESTRELLA AWARDThe Estrella Award recognizes an individual whose leadership, integrity and dedication have contributed to the advancement of technology. The recipient demonstrates excellence in all aspects of their global career while serving as a role model for “rising stars.

HITEC is honored to recognize Nina Vaca, Pinnacle Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, for the 2020 HITEC Estrella Award. Nina founded Pinnacle Group in 1996 and has served as its Chairman and CEO for over two decades, a provider of information technology and workforce solutions and has been named the Fastest-Growing Women-Owned Business in the United States by the Women Presidents’ Organisation in 2015 and 2018. What started as a one-woman IT staffing firm has grown into a workforce solutions powerhouse providing multiple service lines to industry leaders in the telecommunications, financial services, transportation, and technology industries. Over the years, Nina has received numerous awards and recognition for her business success, including ALPFA’s 50 Most Powerful Latinas and the HITEC 100 List.

The HITEC Emerging Executive Program is a year-long, cohort-based program that develops emerging and high-potential Hispanic technology leaders looking to become tomorrow’s high level corporate executives. The work of the Emerging Executive Program continues to be central to HITEC’s core mission – to develop future Hispanic technology and business leaders.

“The Emerging Executive Program provided me with a platform to learn from thought leaders who helped me not to change, but to expand my perspectives, increase my confidence and network with like-minded individuals. It was a great feeling to be with so many executives who had one purpose: to empower me and to help me develop a better self,” said Sofia Alexe, Manager, Oracle.
