Invitations are mailed to each eligible dog’s owner on record, or each UKC Junior Member. Judges are not announced for the Top Ten Finals beyond the Top Ten Best of Breed level. Entries into the Top Ten Finals, Top Junior Finals, and All Stars Competitions must be submitted on the specific entry form included with your invitation.

ENTRY INFORMATION & FEES

1. PRE-ENTRY Only. Entries are Pre-Entry Only, no exceptions.

2. ENTRIES OPEN Monday, June 29, 2020. Any entries received before that

date will be returned (except Top Ten and All Stars Invitees).

3. ENTRY DEADLINE: July 24, 2020. Entries will be accepted at United Kennel

Club until Friday July 24, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). After this time,

entries will not be accepted, and cancellations will not be made.

Performance Events will close Friday, July 24, at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) OR

when the numerical entry limit for the event has been reached, whichever

comes first. After this time, entries will not be accepted, and cancellations

will not be made. Any entries received after this time will be returned. No wait

list will be established. No substitutions. No exceptions will be made.

4. Fees:

• Conformation: $30 per show

• Weight Pull: $30 per pull

• Agility: $30 first entry. $25 each additional entry for same dog, same trial.

• Obedience: $30 first entry. $25 each additional entry for same dog,

same trial.

• Rally Obedience: $30 first entry. $25 each additional entry for same dog,

same trial.

• Nosework: $30 first entry. $25 each additional entry for same dog,

same trial.

• Drag Racing: $25

• Lure Coursing: $30

• Junior Showmanship: No charge.

• Dock Jumping: $20. $25 Day of show.

Additional entries into a performance event made at a later time will be

charged the first entry fee. The discounted second entry fee will not apply.

5. Each dog must be entered on a separate entry form.

6. No entries will be accepted with conditions placed on its acceptance.

7. Any entry missing required information or any faxed entry missing

authorization for UKC to use the designated credit card for entry fees will

not be processed or considered accepted.

Please be sure to check the Total Dog box on the entry form to ensure that

your dog is included in the Total Dog competition.

SUBMITTING ENTRIES

1. Entries may be submitted on the Offcial UKC Entry Forms included with

this Premium List or on any current Offcial UKC Entry Form. Photocopies

of these forms may be used. Entries for all events may be submitted online

on the UKC offcial website: ukcdogs.com/ premier. Online entries for Top

Ten, Top Junior, and All Stars are not available.

2. Entries will not be accepted from third parties or any other entry service.

3. Emailed entries will not be accepted.

ENTRY SUBMISSION:

Online entry is available at ukcdogs.com/premier. All exhibitors using the

online entry system must have a current and valid email address.

Mailed entries must include fees. Mailed entries received without fees will

not be accepted. Mailing entries with delivery confirmation or with a tracking

number is recommended.

Faxed entries must include the following:

must be included on EACH entry form).

A faxed entry must be received in UKC’s offices by the closing date and time

and must be fully legible and complete for it to be accepted. We will not accept

a faxed entry after the closing date and time based on a “Transmission OK”

message in the possession of the owner. No exceptions.

Hand-delivered entries will be taken at the United Kennel Club offices during

normal business hours.

PAYMENT FOR ENTRIES

1. Payment may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card. No

entry will be accepted without payment.

2. Make checks and money orders payable to “United Kennel Club.” Checks

and money orders must be payable in U.S. funds.

3. When paying by credit card, entry must include the card number and

expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder’s name, address, daytime

phone, and signature. Email addresses should be included, if available.

4. Post-dated checks, returned checks, and declined credit cards do not

constitute valid entry fees. UKC will add a collection fee of $30 to the

amount of each returned check or money order. Exhibitors who repeatedly

submit invalid entry fees may be put on a cash-only basis.

ENTRY CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

1. Entry cancellations MUST be received in writing (email correspondence

is acceptable) prior to the closing of entries or before limits have been

reached. Requests MUST INCLUDE dog’s UKC number, breed, name, and

event type entered. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Emailed

cancellations must be sent to [email protected].

2. Cancelled entries submitted before the close of entries will be charged a

cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is 50 percent of the entire entry fee.

No entries will be refunded after the closing date and time or after entry

limits have been reached.

3. No refund of entry fees will be made for entries cancelled AFTER the

closing date and time, or after entry limits have been reached, except

in the cases of females that come into season and are entered in a

performance event. In those cases, refunds may be obtained by providing

UKC with a veterinarian’s certificate verifying the female came into season

after the closing date. The certificate must be on the offcial letterhead of

the veterinary offce and must contain the veterinarian’s signature and all

contact information. The certificate may be mailed, provided the postmark

is no later than the date prior to the day of the event, or delivered by hand

to the UKC superintendent personnel before the start of the event.

4. Entry fees shall not be refunded if a dog is absent, disqualified, excused

by veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of Event

Committee.

5. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries before processing. If

a duplicate entry is processed, however, no refund will be made.

6. Entry overpayments may be donated to the general trophy fund.

7. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of

the host organization, it is impossible to open or to complete an event, no

refund of entry fees will be made.

8. If, in the opinion of the host club, the well-being of dogs, exhibitors, or

spectators is at risk due to extreme weather conditions, such as but not

limited to snow storms, hurricanes, tornados, lightning, or extreme heat,

the host club may cancel or stop an event before completion. No refunds

will be made in such cases.

PREMIER Best of the Best! On Sunday, August 16, 2020! All the Best in Specialty winners, the Top Ten Winner, the Total Dog Regular Best In Show Winner, and the Regular Best In Show Winners from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are invited to compete for the Best of the Best! The competition will be held immediately after Regular and Altered Best In Show on Sunday. The judge will be announced at the time of the competition. Join us to find out who will be the Best of the Best at the 27th Annual UKC PREMIER!

ENTRY ELIGIBILITY1. Dogs must be permanently registered with UKC, have a Temporary Listing

(TL) number, or have a Limited Privilege (LP)/Performance Listing (PL) listing number by the closing date and time in order to enter. No exceptions will be made. Entries for ineligible dogs will be returned.

2. Dogs must meet the eligibility requirements for the event which they are entering. For requirements, refer to the appropriate event rules and regulations.

ENTRY CONFIRMATION, ARMBANDS, AND JUDGING PROGRAM1. Receipt of online entries will be acknowledged upon submission, but this

does not constitute confirmation of a valid entry.2. Electronic confirmation of entries will be sent to the email address

included on the entry form as soon as the entry has been accepted and processed. If you do not receive a confirmation by the Saturday preceding these events (August 8, 2020), please notify UKC.

3. The Judging Program will not be mailed but will be available from the UKC website approximately ten days prior to the event.

4. One armband will be assigned to each entered dog for all event(s) in which the dog is entered for the weekend. Entry confirmation information will be printed on the back of the armband. Armbands will be mailed prior to the event.

5. A duplicate set of armbands will be available at the superintendent’s desk.6. Armbands will not be mailed to exhibitors. Armbands will be available

for pick-up at your ring.

CLASS CHANGE/CORRECTION OF ENTRY1. Owners are responsible for the accuracy of information on the entry

forms. Owners are responsible for any errors made on entry forms, regardless of who may make such errors. Owners and exhibitors are responsible for correcting any errors on their entry.

2. If, according to the owner’s records, a dog has completed the requirements for a title after the closing of entries may be moved up from the entered class to the class for which it is eligible, provided the move-up is requested in writing to UKC not later than one half-hour prior to the start of any regular judging.

3. Any corrections to entries must be made in writing to UKC using the appropriate form provided not later than one half-hour prior to the start of any regular judging.

CONFORMATION1. Licensed Classes. Regular and Altered classes will be offered for all eligible

breeds and Junior Showmanship. **Friday is the Conformation Qualifier for Total Dog and Total Junior.

2. Non-Licensed Classes. Total Dog and Total Junior.3. One show offered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a total of three shows.4. Belgian Shepherd Dogs: The customary conformation procedure will be

used on Friday. The Assisted Animation/Critique Procedure will be used on Saturday. All rules and regulations for the chosen Assisted Animation/Critique Procedure will be adhered to. All efforts will be made to include the Belgian Shepherd Dog in the Group ring. However, the Herding Group will not be held up if the Belgian Shepherd Dog Best of Breed is not chosen in time for the Group competition.

Held over two days: Junior Showmanship qualifier held Friday and performance qualifier held Saturday.To be eligible for a Total Junior award, a junior must:1. Compete in a UKC Junior Showmanship Licensed class on Friday, August

14, 2020, and earn a 1st-4th placement with competition or an Award of Merit. Licensed classes include Novice Junior, Novice Senior, Open Junior, and Open Senior.

2. Award of Merit for UKC Junior Showmanship classes will be calculated as follows:

4. Performance qualifying scores earned on Friday, August 14, 2020 will not be counted when computing the Total Junior Award.

5. Juniors who meet these requirements will automatically receive a special Total Junior award.

Total Junior Participant Parade and Announcement of Qualifiers1. Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the Main Expo building, following the

conclusion of Best In Show (consult the Judging Program for any possible changes in time or location).

2. A parade of Total Junior participants will kick off this special recognition. All Total Junior participants (dog and handler teams) will report for the parade of Total Junior participants.

3. Following the parade of participants will be the announcement of the Total Junior Qualifiers.

TOTAL DOG AWARDHeld over two days: Conformation Qualifier held Friday, and Performance Qualifier held Saturday. Dogs will not earn all Total Dog requirements on the same day. This will apply solely for the UKC’s PREMIER event. To be eligible for a Total Dog award, a dog must meet the following criteria:1. On Friday, August 14, 2020, compete in Conformation (Regular or Altered)

with competition and win one of the following awards: Reserve Best Male/Female of Variety, Reserve Best Male/Female, Best Male/Female of Variety, Best Male/Female, Best of Winners, Champion, Reserve Champion, Champion Award of Merit, Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, Grand Champion Award of Merit, Best of Breed, Group 1 through 4 (Group 4 win only counts if there are five or more breeds in the Group), Best In Show, or Reserve Best In Show from the Regular or Altered Conformation classes. The following addition to the existing Total Dog rules regarding Conformation competition requirements for the Champion and Grand Champion classes shall apply solely on Friday, August 14, 2020. a. Champion Award of Merit and Grand Champion Award of Merit shall

count as a competition win when computing a Total Dog qualifier. The number of Awards of Merit to be awarded shall be calculated as follows:

• 5-9 dogs in competition – 1 AOM • 10-14 dogs in competition – 2 AOM • 15-19 dogs in competition – 3 AOM • 20-24 dogs in competition – 4 AOM • 25-29 dogs in competition – 5 AOM • 30-34 dogs in competition – 6 AOM • 35-40 dogs in competition – 7 AOM2. On Saturday, August 15, 2020, earn a qualifying score in a Performance

event. Qualifying scores earned from Agility, Dock Jumping, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Drag Racing (excluding Aptitude Tests), Lure Coursing (Regular Stakes only), Nosework, or Weight Pull will count toward the Total Dog Award. Qualifying scores from a Performance event earned on Friday, August 14, 2020 will not be used when computing the Total Dog Award. Dogs that meet the above requirements will automatically receive a special Total Dog award.

3. Total Dog Classic Bye-In! Any dog that earned a Total Dog Award at a 2019 or 2020 UKC Classic will be added to our Total Dog Qualifiers Parade and Total Dog Group competition. Classic qualifiers must enter at least one event at Premier and include their Classic Bye-In slip with their Premier entry form to participate.

4. Total Dog Hunting Title Bye-In! Dogs that have earned a hunting title

(including HTX) in any hunting event recognized by UKC on or before April 6, 2020 are eligible to compete for Total Dog. All dogs must be entered in Total Dog upon submission of entry into the Conformation class in which the dog is eligible for on Friday, August 14, 2020.

Total Dog Qualifiers Parade, Total Dog Groups, and Total Dog Best In Show Competition will follow the PREMIER Best In Show Competition on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the Main Expo Building. After the conclusion of the Total Junior Parade and the announcement of Total Junior Qualifiers, the Total Dog Qualifiers parade will take place (consult the Judging Program for changes in time or location).1. A parade of Total Dog Qualifiers (including Altered) will kick off this special

recognition and competition. All Total Dog Qualifiers (dog and handler teams) will report for the parade of Total Dog Qualifiers, followed by the announcement of the Total Dog Qualifiers (including Altered).

2. Total Dog Qualifiers will then compete in Total Dog Groups. The Total Dog Groups are the standard eight groups. Each dog that qualifies will compete in its designated group. There will be no Altered Total Dog group competition.

3. Total Dog Group One winners will proceed to the Total Dog Best In Show competition and compete for the 2020 PREMIER Total Dog Best In Show and the 2020 PREMIER Total Dog Reserve Best In Show.

4. Following the Total Dog Best in Show, the Altered Total Dog qualifiers will compete for a 2020 PREMIER Altered Total Dog Best in Show and 2020 Premier Altered Total Dog Reserve Best in Show.

General Building and Parking Information1. Building and grounds will be open to exhibitors at 3 p.m. on Tuesday,

August 11, 2020. Overnight security is not provided. All times are Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

2. Building and grounds will be open to exhibitors at 7 a.m. Wednesday-Sunday. Building will close at 10 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. On Sunday, the building will close 30 minutes after the conclusion of Best of the Best or 6 p.m., whichever is later.

3. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants to facilitate an orderly traffic flow through the unloading and parking areas. Vehicles are allowed a 15-minute unloading time. Violators will be towed.

4. Grooming space is on a first come, first served basis. Empty grooming space may not be saved.

5. No rugs or ground cover mats are allowed on the floor.6. No exercise pens inside any building. There is ample room for private

expens outside.7. Exhibitors will be required to stack their crates when crating in any

buildings.8. Dogs may not be left unattended when on a grooming table or crated in

soft mesh crates. No dog may be left in an unlatched or un-zippered crate.9. Dogs must not be left in the buildings overnight. All dogs must be out of the

buildings by 10 p.m.10. No dogs or pets of any kind in restrooms or showers.11. No foreign substances allowed on dogs.12. For Conformation, small ringside tables and crates are only allowed at

ringside during the judging of a single breed. The Event Committee may order these tables and crates to be removed at their discretion. Please do not abuse this privilege.

13. There will be absolutely NO SMOKING/VAPING in any building or designated areas.

14. Admission passes will be available for those entered in the event. Admission fee to be charged per person for spectators/attendants not entered.

15. No cones or other means may be used to save parking spaces in or about the parking lot or campgrounds.

16. Overnight parking for RVs and camping available. For camping information, see the Camping Registration form in this Premium List.

EXHIBITOR AND GENERAL INFORMATION1. All events are held under the Rules and Regulations of the United Kennel Club.2. UKC, its agents, and its employees assume no responsibility for any loss,

damage, or injury sustained by spectators, exhibitors, and/or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children not under the control of their parents or guardians. UKC is not responsible for loss, accidents, or theft.

3. Scheduling Conflicts for Dogs Competing in Multiple Eventsa. Exhibitors are responsible for being available for judging at the scheduled

time.

b. Every possible effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors who have dogs entered in multiple events, but judges are not required to wait for dogs. Exhibitors are advised to notify stewards in all rings affected by the conflict so judges may work around any conflicts more easily.

c. All Stars exhibitors: please be advised the Agility, Obedience, Rally Obedience, and Drag Racing All Stars Invitationals are not required to make allowances or accommodations for dogs and/or handlers entered in the All Stars Competition and any other event.

4. UKC encourages exhibitors to present their dogs with the least amount of grooming necessary to enable a judge to properly compare each dog with its breed standard. Dogs should be clean, have clean teeth, and have nails cut to a length suitable for the dog to perform the work for which it was bred. UKC enforces rules against artificially altering pigment, coat color, and coat texture with products, surgical alterations, or other means as outlined in the Official UKC Rules for All-Breed Events. The judge’s determination that this rule has been violated shall be final.

5. The owner or designated handler of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when its class is to be judged. The host organization, event committee, and superintendent have no obligation or responsibility to provide service through a public-address system, stewards, or runners for locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required.

6. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging do not need to remain in attendance.

7. Please remember to turn off cell phones or any other device before entering rings.

8. No dog less than 8 weeks of age may be present on the grounds of a UKC licensed event.

9. Exhibitors and dog owners are expected and required to clean up after their own dogs. Any person witnessing a violation of this rule must report it to the Event Committee. The Event Committee may ask any person violating this rule to leave the event grounds. No refund will be made if an exhibitor is asked to leave the grounds.

10. The use of alcohol and unprescribed drugs by exhibitors and judges while participating in a UKC licensed event is prohibited.

11. ATVs (4-Wheelers) are prohibited on the grounds of the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds.

12. No bicycles are allowed in any building or directly around any event ring. Failure to adhere may result in the expulsion of the cyclist from the event grounds.

13. Skateboards and roller blades are allowed in the camping area only.14. UKC will vigorously support any lodging facility that files a complaint about

exhibitors who fail to keep their dogs quiet or to clean up after them. UKC will take disciplinary action against any offenders.

15. All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote, or otherwise exploit the event are vested in United Kennel Club and its assignees. All persons and animals on the event grounds at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these shows, grant to the club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape, or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent.

What is Precision Coursing?Precision Coursing is a new competitive sport where dogs compete in “Sprints” and have their fastest course time recorded. Dogs run the course twice per Sprint (once in each direction). The course is 200 feet long and includes a series of turns to test speed and swiftness.

How Does My Dog Earn a Title?Runs are timed! Course time is recorded. A dog’s FASTEST Sprint time will be recorded as their Qualifying Leg. A dog can receive 2 qualifying legs per day, and it takes 3 legs to earn a Novice title.

How Do I Sign Up?Open Gate sign-ups, meaning there is no pre-registration required! Competition hours will posted at the Precision Coursing field for each day, so be sure to check it out.

Cost: $20/Sprint (includes two runs - one in each direction).

Titles: Dogs must have a valid UKC Preformance Listing. Permanent Registration or Temporary Listing number on the day of the event to be eligible for UKC Titles.

*Precision Coursing will not count as a Total Dog qualifying event

CAMPING RESERVATIONS

The Expo Center will again be handling all the camping reservations this year. Beginning March 2, 2020 you must call to make your reservation directly with the Expo Center.

Register early and save money!

Camping Fees: $25 per night (before July 28, 2020) $30 per night (after July 28, 2020) Advance Reservation Fee: One‐time $5.00 fee will be charged for all advance reservations

Campground will open at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020. No early arrivals.

Camping Information: Camping will be reserved by campground area at time of reservation (see map for campground areas) and specific site numbers will be emailed out approximately 1 week prior to arrival. We will try to accommodate requests for specific site numbers. All requests will be considered in order by date of reservation.

Campers may not switch from assigned site number upon arrival. All reservations must be paid by credit card at the time of reservation. There is a non‐refundable $5 reservation fee for each campsite reserved. Most sites offer water and electric hook‐up.

Two dumping stations with potable water are available on the grounds. On‐site septic service will be available by pre‐registration with your camping reservation for $26 per dump. Dumps can be scheduled for Thursday, August 13 or Saturday, August 15, or both.

Showers and handicapped‐accessible restrooms are available.

Cancellations will be accepted until July 28, 2020 for a full refund, less the $5 reservation fee. No refunds are available for cancellations after July 28, 2020.p

GOLF CARTS: If you are bringing a golf cart you must have liability insurance that covers the driver(s) of the cart.
