Here is how to safely drain your pool to protect our wildlife: 1. Pump the pool water into the public sewer system through your sanitary sewer clean-out. 2. If you don’t have a sewer clean-out, then, take your time and let the water drain SLOWLY into a grassy area far away from the street and any drainage channels or creeks. DO NOT drain pool water to the street or dump it into a creek or drainage channel. It’s not good for the environment, and it is also ILLEGAL! Be Stormwater Savvy and protect our natural resources. For more information, contact the Stormwater Compliance Inspector at 793-5051. Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency provides emergency rent, mortgage and utility assistance to low- income individuals and families. Assistance only pays for one month’s billing cycle. Assistance may only be provided once in a 12-month period. To contact COCAA and check eligibility for assistance in Cleveland County, please call (405) 434-6100. Santa’s Mailbox What: Holiday elves are installing a special mailbox at The Station Recreation Center where children can drop off letters to Santa. When: Friday, Nov. 27–Dec. 18Where: The Station Recreation Center Lobby, 700 S. Broadway Ave. Who: 4th grade and younger How: When writing letters, children are asked to include their first and last name, age mailing address and holiday wish list. Parents are encouraged to glance over the letters before bringing to The Station for mailing. Santa especially enjoys hand-drawn holiday pictures on the letters! Place you letter and self-addressed stamped envelope inside Santa’s Mailbox. Make sure a Return Address is included so Santa can answer your letter. Science has never been this much fun before. In this camp you will get to build and create your very own robot that will do multiple things. You might get to assemble a robotic car, plane or pendulum machine. This camp will keep you engaged from beginning to end.
