Aug 19/25 - GLACIER NATIONAL PARK “plus” THE CANADIAN ROCKIES Together, we will explore North America’s most majestic mountains that combine with other wonders, both natural and man made. We will travel through and experience Glacier National Park in the United States and the National Parks of the Canadian Rockies. The mountains are more majestic than found elsewhere because they rise so sharply into the air. The results are that you are standing basically at their very bottom. Their sheer dramatic heights and incomparable vistas have been created by opposing forces of

nature battling each other; with the loser being pushed almost straight into the air for thousands of feet, while capturing fresh water alpine lakes of beautifully colored pristine beauty protected by many in national parks. Glacier National Park Montana is known as "The Crown of the Continent" with good reason. Glacier Park offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world, as well as some of the best wildlife viewing found anywhere in North America. Glacier Park is also the centerpiece of the largest intact ecosystem in the lower 48 states, which covers over 16,000 square miles, and is truly one of the most pristine landscapes found anywhere in the country. Located in the northwest corner of Montana, Glacier Park is over a million acres in size, with over 175 named mountains, 762 lakes, 563 streams, over 200 named waterfalls, 25 named glaciers, and over 745 miles of maintained hiking trails. And of the million acres that makes up Glacier National Park, over 94% of this vast expanse is managed as wilderness. The Canadian Rockies are also amazing! There are five major parks that are part of the Canadian Rockies, they are Yoho, Jasper, Kootenay, Banff and Waterton. The oldest park of Canada and one of the most visited parks around the territory is Banff. Some of Banff’s residents include Grizzly bears, lynx, deer, weasel and many others. Next is Jasper, the largest of the five.
