Inaugural Session

Two day National Seminar was organized by Ramaiah College of Law in association with National Law School of India University, Bengaluru to delve into issues concerning Uniform Civil Code with an aim to provide a platform to researchers, academicians and students for discourse and to deliberate on aspects pertaining to

th thUniform Civil Code on 17 and 18 March, 2017 at NLSIU Bengaluru. Various themes of the Uniform Civil code such as UCC and Constitution, UCC and Human Rights, UCC and Personal Laws, UCC and International Conventions and the Jurisprudence of Uniform civil code etc. were discussed during the various sessions. The Seminar had more than 170 participants from Colleges/ Universities all over the country. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jain University, Prof. Dr. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, Sri. S. M. Acharya, Chief Executive, Gokula Education Foundation, Dr. Sashikala Gurpur, Dean, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Dr. T. V. Subba Rao, NLSIU, Dr. M. K. Ramesh, NLSIU, Dr. Sairam Bhat, NLSIU and Dr. Manjusree Mishra, Principal, RCL were also present.

Two Day National Seminar

Valedictory Session thThe valedictory session was held on 18 March, 2017 at

4:00pm. Hon'ble Mr. Justice N. Kumar, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Dr. M. K. Ramesh, Professor, NLSIU andDr. Sairam Bhat, Associate Professor, NLSIU graced the occasion. The valedictory address was rendered by Mr.Justice N. Kumar and he was impressed with the various ideas portrayed by different academicians and paper presenters. He expressed his views on UCC, benefits of UCC in promoting National Integration and discussed the role of Legislature.

In continuation of the Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer Commemorative Lecture Series, the college organized

nd ndits 2 commemorative lecture on 22 April, 2017. Hon'ble Mr. Justice N. Kumar, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka delivered a Lecture on ‘Human Rights’ and quoted various judgements delivered by Sri. Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer.

NSS Unit of Ramaiah College of Law organized ath th seven day Special Camp in Kaivara from 10 to 16

April, 2017. The NSS Camp was inaugurated by Smt. Shylaja Manjunath, President, Gram Panchayat, Kaivara. Various activities were carried during the camp such as Afforestation, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, visit to Goshala and Public Health Care Centre, Legal Awareness Program etc. The camp

thGEF Institutions Athletic Meet - 2017 on 25 March 2017 at MSRIT Sports ground. RCL team won First prize in March-Fast, Mr. Parimal Tiwari won Silver Medal in Shot-put, Ms. Akansha Jain won Silver Medal in Javelin Throw, Ms. Jeevana CPS won Silver Medal in Long Jump and Mr. Subramanya V. Mysore won Bronze Medal in 1500 mtrs.
