Talent Hunt (July 4-6)
Our school organized talent hunt in chess, solo classical dance and folk art for classes
IX-XII, to celebrate the natural flair of students and bring out the best in them.
a. Chess (July 4): To identify the Red Roses’ ‘Vishwanathan Anands’, students of classes IX-XII, prepared by their guide teacher Mr. Anupam Biswas, sat in teams and played each move with their pawns, rooks, bishops and queen to save the king! It was interesting to watch them play in absolute silence with complete concentration. Result was as follows:
b. Solo Classical dance (July 5): Dressed in colourful dance costume with matching jewelry and ‘aalta’ decorating their feet and palms and guided by our dance teacher Mrs.Bidyut Lata Mishra, presentations of Odissi dance by Nidarshana (XB); Bharatnatyam by Shailly Giri (X) and Anagha (XB); ‘Nav Durga’ in Odissi by Tanzil Shandilya (XC) and Kathak by Rhea , Ananya and Suhani (IXC) were judged by Principal M’m. Performance of Anagha was declared as the best followed by Rhea in second. Nidarshana and Tanzil jointly shared the third position.

c. Folk Art (July 6): Participants got engaged in the Art room in making their beautiful paintings. Art teachers – Mrs. Hema Shandilya and Mrs. Sadhana Bhatt declared the artworks of Neha Yadav (XB), Muskan Dhiman (XIB) and Bhumika Garg (IXB) as first, second and third respectively.

Zonal Poster Making Event (July17)
Our school was the venue for Poster event, organized by D’te of Education. 24 girls and
17 boys from classes VI-VIII from Zone 23 schools participated. Topics given to the
participants were – ‘benefit of yoga’, ‘plastic pollution’, ‘corruption -termite of economy’
and ‘100 years of Jallianwala Bagh’. The competition was judged by Ms. Shikha Sinha, Art
Teacher from Vidya Niketan and Mrs. Devinder Kaur, former Art Teacher at New Green
Field School, Saket.

c. Shakespearean speeches (July 12): 2
students per House from class XI
brought the characters from the
Shakespearean plays alive by
presenting their famous speeches with
perfect intonation, modulation and
costume. Shruti Dubey (XIB) as ‘Brutus’
from the play ‘Julius Caesar’ was
awarded the first position.
Anushka (XIB) as ‘Henry V’ and Swati Thakur (XIA) as ‘King Liar’ won second while Mannat
Sharma (XIA) as ‘Mark Antony’ was declared third. The event was judged by Sr.
Coordinator Mrs. Indu Arora and Activity Coordinator Deepa Sharma.

Inter School French Event (July 18)
Our school organized ‘Inter School French Event’. Students from ten schools participated.
Chief guest Ms Vandana Kumar, French teacher at Mata Gujri Public School, was felicitated
with a sapling by our vice principal Mr. N.S.Yadav. Students of our school presented a
welcome song after which the competitions began. ‘Indo-French Friendship’ was the theme
for Collage making for classes VI-VII. Solo songs on Nature/ Patriotism /
Friendship/Travelling themes by contestants from classes VII-VIII were mesmerizing and
melodious. For quiz challenge on ‘Culture & Civilization of France’ among the students of
classes IX-X, ten questions were asked and the four teams that scored the highest marks
were selected. In the first round, each of the teams had to answer one question each. It was
followed by the visual round to identify the picture displayed on the screen. Another round
comprised of five rapid fire questions for each of the teams. Interestingly, tie-breaker had
to be conducted twice to declare the clear winners.
Results were as follows:-
Red Roses Shine in Zonals
Our students made us immensely proud by doing extremely well in zonal cultural
activities. Pradyun Biswal (VIIIC) in painting (Jr.) and Debosmit Sarkar (VIIIC) in Drawing
(Jr.) made it to the top position. Viplav Panghal XB stood first in English recitation (Sr.)
while Ritvik K. Das (VIII B) bagged the second position in Jr. category. Saad (IXB) won
second in Sanskrit recitation (Sr.). Aditya Raj was placed third in Poster (Jr.). and Piyush
Patel stood third in Hindi recitation ( Jr.). Incidentally, all boys!

Fancy Dress Competition ( July 30)
The competition was for classes III-V.
120 students participated. Some of
them gave amazing performance.
Another competition on the theme
‘Endangered species’ was also held
for these classes wherein the
students talked about the risk of
some animals becoming extinct.
Four of our ‘Sparkling Stars’ also
participated in the event. Shivam
Chandra (IIIA) portrayed a
tree. Ranvir (IIIC) as Lord Krishna,
Say no to E-Waste (July 16)
Red Roses enacted a play on the theme
‘Say No to e-waste material’ in morning
assembly. Rudransh, Riya, Ashish and
Dhairya Agarwal of class V, who played the
main characters, informed about the
hazards of E-waste.It was told that
electronic waste affects nearly every
system in the human body because the materials that make up e-waste contain a number
of toxic components. Even the plastic casings of electronic products contain polyvinyl
chloride. Discarded keyboards, mouse, mobile phones were shown as examples of E
waste. Students took a pledge that they would be cautious in disposing of E-waste and
will hand it over to the registered recycling company only.
Zeedan Khan (IVC) as cartoon character’Shiva’ and Aarav Ahuja (VA) with rendition of
‘Venkateshwar Suprabhatam’ were indeed impressive.
It proved to be a learning experience and provided the students a platform to explore their
hidden talent.

The results were as follows:-
Red Roses give “Ek Mutthi Daan”
Interact Club of Red Roses Public School, Saket, under the monthly
“Ek Muthi Daan” activity for the month of July, collected essential
food items as voluntary donation by students and staff members.
Packets of dry rice, pulses, sugar, tea and biscuits were dropped into
two drums kept near the entrance of the school building.
300 kg of food items so collected were donated to NGO
Aarohan for serving to the poor and deprived children.
Besides feeding the needy, such activities will go a long
way in sowing the seeds of compassion and philanthropy
in the impressionable young minds.

Medical health checkup of all students was conducted by Dr. Mona Kulpati and her
team of doctors from Rainbow Hospital. It included general physical examination,
eye, ear, throat, blood pressure and dental checkup. A brochure having 3 discount
coupons, magnet and book mark were also given to the students.
Pre-school students and teachers came
clad in blue outfit to enable students to
recognize the colour and its
significance. Pictures of blue whale and
umbrella etc. brought by the students
were displayed. They were also made to
colour geometrical shapes and drawing of
school uniform in blue.

With the objective to ignite the creative side of the
students’ mind and develop their fine motor skills,
drawing & colouring competition was held.Pre-
schoolers were provided outline of umbrella for
colouring whereas Pre-Primary students were given
'Sunny Day' theme. The participants created
magical expressions with their imagination.

Van Mahotsav Celebration (July 9)
The celebration of Van Mahotsav was an
ideal opportunity to instill the value of conservation of
nature. Teachers made all the students aware about the
importance of trees and encouraged them to plant and
nurture at least one sapling at home. They recited ‘Pedd
Lagao, Pedd Lagao’ poem and enjoyed hand printing
of plants and trees. They also planted saplings with the
help of Shri Anil, the gardener.
English Recitation Competition (July 24-25)
As beauty is the realm of poetry, students enjoy expression, rhyme, rhythm and music
of words. Taking these facts into consideration, the students were given the opportunity
to exhibit their talent in English recitation. Poems on ‘Traffic Light’, ‘Save Water’, ‘Body
Parts’, ‘Good Manners’, Soldier etc. were recited. They were judged on parameters like
confidence, voice modulation, props used and overall presentation.

The Cookery Club is a learning lab that involves
kneading, tossing, pouring, and smelling to
develop their motor skills. They also learn basic
math skills such as counting, weighing, measuring,
etc. as well as social skills by working together and
communicating. Above all it promotes healthy
eating in students. With the aim of discovering the
cook in students, a number of recipes without
using fire like nimbu pani, sandwich, burger and
chana chaat, were prepared by students.

NEEV (Pre to Primary School)
Hindi Recitation (May 10)
Rhymes are an effective tool to teach vocabulary,
body awareness, rhythm awareness and co-
ordination skills. With this objective, Hindi
recitation competition was organized under the
guidance of Mrs. Sulekha Singh. Students
confidently recited the rhymes on themes related
to Nature like - importance of trees and rain,
expressing themselves with proper actions, and
voice modulation. They used innovative props and
costumes that further made the presentations
commendable. Winners were rewarded with
merit certificates.
Outing in DDA Park (May 15)
Picnics are a good source of enjoyment. Hence, to enjoy
the spell of the lovely weather, NEEV organized a short
visit for the students to give them an enjoyable break
from their daily routine. On way to the DDA Park, Lado
Sarai as they eagerly seated themselves in the bus, the
kids expressed their joyful mood by clapping and singing
songs. On reaching the park, they played games, danced,
sang and had unlimited fun on the lush green lawns. The
little ones thoroughly enjoyed the day and their
excitement continued even after they returned to school.

Drawing and Colouring Competition (May 16)
Art is one of the best ways to showcase your expression. Keeping the same in mind, drawing competition was organized. ‘Nature’ was the theme for the competition. This activity also aimed at testing students’ observation power and love for nature. The participants enjoyed being creative.
Self-Introductory competition (May 18)
Self-Introductory competition was organized for preschool and pre-primary students with the objective to develop their public speaking skills. All the participants of preprimary spoke confidently. Preschool students also performed exceptionally well with good expressions even though it was their first time on stage. The students had brought beautiful props which made the competition impressive.
Welcome After Vacation (July 1)
“School bells are ringing loud and clear, vacations over, school is here”.
The students were back to school after a long summer break. They were thrilled, excited and raring to go! The assembly was teeming with a wave of enthusiasm. A welcome assembly was conducted. It began with a beautiful prayer.
Van Mahotsav celebration (July 8-12)
The School In charge presented her welcome note and boosted the morale of the budding blooms. Teachers welcomed students with a hearty smile and sang melodious songs for them. The aim was to make all the students, especially the new little hearts, feel comfortable and happy.
It has been rightly said that ‘Trees are
the kindest things we grow’ as the needs
of all the living beings are fulfilled by
them. To make students aware of this,
NEEV celebrated Van Mahotsav week in
the school campus.
