I’m thrilled to share with you our plans for the extraordinary summer that will be full of incredible camp experiences! This year, we’ll be introducing new camps, camp-wide weekly themes, mindful activities like yoga and martial arts, exciting trips for travel camp, and a Counselor-in-Training program that focuses on teen career development. It’s sure to be an action-packed summer like no other!

I have been part of the YMCA movement for 10 years now during which my professional passion has been Summer Camp. Our team of Camp Directors spent the off-season preparing and planning to strike the perfect balance for the upcoming summer of fun, excitement and safety. For 11 weeks each year, we have the honor of caring for your children in a unique environment that inspires kids to make huge strides in a short period of time; building self-esteem, developing leadership qualities, and molding personal character. All of this year’s camps have been thoughtfully designed to provide an exciting rhythm for each child’s day.

In addition to our mainstay programs, we have responded to your feedback and expanded upon our camp options for 2019.

Camp Meadowlands is a retro-themed camp with a modern twist. We’ll have opening and closing ceremonies, camp songs, arts and crafts projects, swimming, drama performances, sports, music, STEM activities, and special events designed around engaging weekly themes.

Brainiac Academy helps to prevent the summer slide. Kids can lose up to six months of math and reading skills over the summer. This camp helps little learners to stay on top of their game with brain-boosting activities that reinforce the year’s school lessons, but in fresh and invigorating ways that feel like play rather than work.

Our Counselor-in-Training Program is where teens can develop real-world leadership skills. Teens will join us for two weeks in the beginning of summer to develop the expertise needed to be a camp counselor, land jobs, ace their college interviews, build resumes, and other professional development skills that will translate far beyond the Summer Camp experience.

Based on the many requests we received last year, our Musical Theatre Camp is now a full day program that will expand upon the theatre experience to include set design, props, costume design, singing lessons, improv, and stage management.

Included in this booklet is a list of this year’s Open Houses, which are the perfect way to connect and learn more about our camps and meet our leadership staff. Processing Fee Waiver Register by APR 27 and save $25 processing fee.

Sibling Accomodation 10% reduction on camp tuition for each additional child in the household. (This discount is deducted from the tuition only and will be applied towards the lower rate-per-session).

Military Discount 10% discount off tuition fees children of military personnel. (Military ID must be presented at time of registration).

Hosted in Cliffside Park, Camp Odyssey combines the best of both camp worlds for Gold Coast area residents. Campers will take field trips, spend time at the Head Start facility, and at the Y pool. They’ll take part in a variety of camp activities like arts and crafts, sports, team-oriented projects and plenty of swim time!

ADVENTURE AWAITS! Campers will take to the road with a combination of exciting weekly field trips and modern camp activities. We’ll enjoy new experiences by taking age appropriate trips every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to awesome destinations. On Mondays and Fridays, we’ll spend time swimming, doing enrichment activities, such as yoga and martial arts, creating art and crafts projects, and doing so much more! The core of this camp is guiding kids to become more self-sufficient and independent through travel and mindfulness. Choose between the 3-day travel-only package or 5-day full camp experience.

BUILDING TOMORROW’S LEADERS TODAYDevelop real-world leadership skills in our Counselor-in-Training Summer Program! Teens will join us for a two week training prerequisite that will develop the expertise needed to be a camp counselor, land jobs, ace their college interviews, build resumes, and other professional development skills that will translate far beyond the Summer Camp experience. Following the two week requisite, CITs will assist in supervising camps during their chosen weeks for the remainder of the summer.

To participate in this program, teens must attend the two week training orientation.

Campers will explore a variety of sports every day: soccer, football, tennis, basketball, badminton, pickleball, dodgeball and many more. They'll learn the fundamentals of each sport and then play friendly scrimmages. It’s the perfect camp for kids to discover new talents, stay active and play sports!

Early Registration is Recommended In order to ensure the safety of all children and the appropriate staffing ratios, a completed registration form and CampDoc profile along with payment must be received at the registration office by noon WED for participation in the following week.
