Supervising Companions are expected to ride in close proximity to rider(s) under their care.Explanation: “Appropriate behavior” may include, but is not limited to, maintaining proper riding position, attention, and compliance to oral and written safety warnings and instructions prior to and during participation, proper use of all ride and/or safety equipment, and a willingness to participate.

amusement rides, devices, or attractions unless they can ensure their prosthesis is properly secured and will remain in place during participation. If there is any concern that the device may become dislodged during the course of the ride, guests should visit the Guest Services Office for assistance.Guests with prosthetic devices which do not have exposed metal parts or materials that have the potential to damage fiberglass slides or other equipment are generally permitted on all Lagoon A Beach attractions. Please consult Lagoon A Beach management prior to riding to assist you in having a safe riding experience.

AMUSEMENT RIDER RESPONSIBILITY STANDARD AND PROTOCOL1. There are inherent risks in the participation in or on any amuse-

ment ride, device, or attraction.2. Amusement rides, devices, and attractions may be stressful and

may physically and mentally startle, surprise, thrill or exhilarate patrons.

3. Patrons best know their own capabilities, limitations, and health. Some amusement rides, devices, and attractions may be unsuit- able for some patrons due to individual abilities in this regard. Patrons participating in or on an amusement ride, device, or attrac- tion should not engage beyond their capabilities, limitations, or health, nor by their choices create risks to themselves or to others.

4. Patrons should ensure they understand signs, warnings, and precautions. If they do not understand any sign, warning or precaution, patrons should seek assistance from the ride operator before participating.

FUN & SAFETY GUIDE SYMBOLSThe Fun and Safety Guide Symbols shown below have been designed to assist in evaluation of the attraction relative to one’s individual physical condition. These symbols are located at every ride entrance and indicate certain physical conditions that may be aggravated or affected by that ride.

All Fun and Safety Guide Symbols are posted as a recommendation.

If you have any questions regarding the Fun and Safety Guide Symbols, please feel free to ask a Ride Operator.

General InformationRIDES AND ATTRACTIONSLagoon’s rides and attractions are accessible to guests with a disability. Lagoon’s rides have signs posted at the main and alternate entrances which describe the sensations that may be experienced during the ride. In addition, “Fun and Safety Guide Signs” are located at ride entrances to assist in evaluation of the experience relative to one’s individual physical condition. Each guest must recognize that forces created by some rides may aggravate temporary or permanent physical conditions. All guests with a disability, whether permanent or temporary, including recent surgery, brace, cast, pregnancy, etc., must use common sense in determining whether to enter a ride, in consideration of their disability and/or physical condition. Eleven basic rules apply to all of Lagoon’s rides.

1. Shirt and shoes must be worn by guests at all times when participating on any ride.

2. Food and drink are not allowed on any ride, slide or attraction, or in queue lines.

3. All carry on items which cannot be appropriately and safely stowed, must be left with a non-rider or in a locker.

4. Each guest must meet posted height requirements and/or must be accompanied by a supervising companion, when required.

5. Each guest must comply with all warning, rule, and instruction signs present at the ride.

6. Each guest must meet and abide by the criteria noted on the “Fun and Safety Guide Signs” posted at the entrances to each ride.

7. The design of certain rider safety restraints will accommodate guests of average physical stature and body proportions. Large guests (in terms of height and/or weight) or guests of unusual body proportions may be unable to ride some attractions. Restraint systems must secure, lock, and engage as designed.

8. Each guest must be free of impairments, such as cast or brace, which would inhibit or prevent normal seating or securing of the seat restraint. Guests must be able to use the safety devices which are provided, such as handlebars, seat restraints, and/or lap bars.

9. Each guest must have the ability to maintain riding posture and brace themselves throughout the course of the ride against potential forces created during the experience and/or by other participants.

10. Guests who are observably under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol, or certain prescription drugs shall not be permitted to board any attraction when perceived to be impaired.

11. Granting access to the ride shall not compromise the safety or welfare of other guests or employees.

PROSTHETIC DEVICESGuests with any type of prosthesis should not ride Lagoon’s

General InformationAS A MATTER OF COURTESYIt is important to note that although our ride operators are eager to make your day as pleasant as possible, they are not trained in lifting or carrying techniques, and therefore, cannot provide physical assistance. We recommend that guests with a disability have someone accompany them to the Park who is familiar with their needs and can provide assistance. In some cases, it may be expected that guests may need the assistance of a member of their party to help them transfer from a wheelchair onto a ride boarding area or from a ride boarding area to a wheelchair. Additionally, due to the complexity of certain wheelchairs, ride attendants are not permitted to move wheelchairs from the ride boarding area. A member of the guest’s party must be available to move the wheelchair to a designated wheelchair parking area. Some rides have auxiliary entrances for guests who use wheel-chairs. Newer rides and attractions are constructed to accommodate guests using wheelchairs through the standard queue entrance. Auxiliary entrances are provided for your convenience and not intended to bypass waiting in the queue. Only guests who use wheelchairs and up to two additional members of their party may enter the ride through the auxiliary entrance. Other accompanying riders must use the standard queue*. Please identify the guest who would be in front of you in the standard queue in order to mark your position in line to the Ride Operator. Once at the auxiliary entrance gate, please report to the Ride Operator and identify the guest who will establish your place in line. When that guest has reached the loading station, the Ride Operator will admit your party to the next available seats or ride carrier. Some guests may be concerned that they do not have the stamina to wait in Lagoon queues. We suggest these guests consider using a wheelchair, as the distance between our rides and attractions is much greater than the length of our queue lines. Please show common courtesy and respect to fellow park guests. Do not engage in unsafe, illegal or offensive behavior. *If you have accompanying members of your party in the standard queue, the Ride Operator will let you enter the auxiliary entrance once they have reached the loading station.

RE-RIDE POLICY EXCEPTIONLagoon has established an exception to the “No Re-Ride” Policy for guests who use wheelchairs for mobility, or other guests who experience significant physical difficulty boarding Lagoon’s rides. These guests will be granted a single consecutive re-ride upon request. This courtesy may also be extended to two additional members of their party who originally accompanied the guest during the first ride, in the same seating section. Changing riding companions on a re-ride will not be permitted. The re-ride policy does not include X-Venture Zone Attractions without the pre-purchase of an additional ticket. 5

RIDE AND ATTRACTION AUXILIARY ENTRANCE AUTHORIZATION AND USE POLICYIn order to expedite and provide equal access for all guests, Lagoon has developed a special program which allows quick authorization and identification for guests with mobility restrictions or other conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to access rides and attractions via an auxiliary entrance. All guests, regardless of point of access, must meet all riding requirements for the ride or attraction, including height and medical/physical conditions, in order to participate. Auxiliary entrance access is limited to guests with mobility restrictions or ASD and up to two (2) additional members of their party. Service animals are not permitted.

Newer rides and attractions at Lagoon are built with entrances to accommodate all guests through the standard queue. In order to accommodate guests using wheelchairs, some older rides and attractions have an auxiliary entrance. Other guests with special needs who would like to utilize an existing auxiliary entrance may be permitted to do so according to this policy. Ride or attraction exits may not be used for entrance unless specifically designated and posted with a sign stating this use is authorized.

All guests must recognize that forces created by some rides and attractions may aggravate temporary or permanent physical conditions. Guests with a disability, whether temporary or permanent, including recent back surgery, brace, cast, pregnancy, etc., must use common sense in determining whether to enter a ride or attraction in consideration of their disability and/or physical condition.

If you or someone in your party needs to use an auxiliary entrance, please obtain a “Guide for Guests with Disabilities” available at the Guest Service Office adjacent to the Park entrance. This Guide, (also available on Lagoon’s website at the bottom of the page under Guest Policies), explains ride and attraction entry guidelines and procedures, and provides specific information related to each ride and attraction.

Lagoon’s rides and attractions have signs posted at the main and auxiliary entrances including “Fun and Safety Guide” signs which describe sensations that may be experienced during operation in order to assist in the evaluation of the experience relative to each rider’s personal physical condition. Here’s how it works:• Guests with a mobility restriction or ASD should visit the Guest Service Office upon entry to the Park. (Continued on Page 6)

General Information Continued(Continued from Page 5)• Guest Service personnel will assist guests to verify required physical condition in order to safely experience Lagoon’s rides and attractions. Upon proper qualification, a special wristband will be issued to the guest which authorizes auxiliary entrance use for the guest and an additional two (2) members of their party. All other members of the party must use the standard entrance queue.• If your party has accompanying members in the standard queue, the ride attendant will allow guests waiting at the auxiliary entrance to enter as the rest of their party reaches the loading station.• Guests waiting in the auxiliary queue may also identify with the ride operator another guest in the standard queue in order to mark the appropriate position in line. When the identified guest has reached the loading station, the ride operator will admit your party to the next available seats or carriers. - A guest may wait comfortably away from the queue area while waiting their turn in line before boarding. Please make these arrangements with the attending ride operator.• Auxiliary entrances are provided for guests’ convenience and not intended to bypass waiting for your turn in the standard queue.

DECIDE BEFORE YOU RIDEPrior to boarding any ride, all guests should evaluate the ride during its complete loading, operating and unloading cycle, from their personal perspective and consider their own individual talent and capabilities. This evaluation should include:1. The ability to withstand the forces resulting from the ride action.2. The ability to comprehend how to load, unload, and participate

on the ride, including certain effects the ride will produce.3. The ability to brace, as needed, against certain ride effects. While participating on some rides, guests with sight impairments may not be able to fully anticipate the forces and movements to which their bodies will be subjected and are, therefore, advised to take this into consideration when deciding whether or not to participate. Guests with sight impairments may not drive vehicles at Boomerang, Scamper or Double Thunder, or carry non-collapsible walking aides onto some rides. A limited number of Braille Guidebooks are available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis at Guest Services.Instructions to riders are provided verbally by operators at some rides. Guests who have a hearing impairment may request a written version of these instructions at the ride. Please make this request to the Ride Operator before boarding. Before riding, please inform the Ride Operator of specific needs or

extra time that may be required to board or exit the ride. Lagoon Ride Operators may make the final decision of ride eligibility with the safety of Lagoon’s guests being their highest priority.

EVACUATIONSEvacuations may be required due to such causes as a mechanical problem, weather conditions, or an interruption of electrical service. It is important to realize that there is a remote chance that a situation may arise that requires some walking or may require riders to be removed from a vehicle or carrier during the course of a ride. If evacuation is required, guests may need to maneuver across cat-walks, from the highest point of the ride, and down steeply inclined catwalks, ladders or steps. Ride carriers may also stop at the top of lift hills or during the ride course due to mechanical reasons. Although these incidents are rare, please be aware of this possibility and use discretion and good judgment before boarding. If evacuation from an amusement ride, device, or attraction is required, for safety reasons, ambulatory guests may be evacuated prior to evacuating guests using wheelchairs. In this case, non-ambulatory guests accept any risk or danger due to delayed evacuation or due to the necessity of physically lifting or lowering as part of the evacuation.
