2019 Highlights ‣ 390 individuals received services that helped them live as independently as possible

‣ 60 individuals with residential services led their own team meetings to discuss their needs, interests, and goals

‣ 30 individuals received assistive technology that helped them be more independent in areas such as personal care and cooking

Ken’s visit to the National Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, was one of about 75 trips taken by individuals receiving residential services. Ken also visited Kentucky, while destinations for others included Florida, California, Chicago, and more.

Makayla was one of 295 area students enrolled in Pre-Employment Transition Services. As part of the program at Carroll High School, Makayla had the opportunity to work in a preschool classroom at Hickory Center Elementary.

2019 Highlights ‣ 527 individuals participated in programs focused on learning new skills

‣ 81.7% of the agency’s total participants made progress on person-centered goals

‣ 62.7% of Adult Day Center participants went on community outings

‣ 44 individuals attended reading classes at Projects Drive Group

Cameron and Damian were two of the 50 individuals who graduated from the Employment Readiness Academy in 2019. Cameron and Damian handled a variety of duties at the Parkview Family YMCA, including cleaning, customer service, child care, and greeting guests with candy on Valentine’s Day.

2019 Highlights ‣ 318 individuals participated in programs focused on succeeding in employment

‣ 225 individuals engaged in community work training or volunteer opportunities

‣ 81.7% of agency participants with an employment-related goal made progress toward achieving it

Programs and services that help individuals relax and socialize through PLAY:

The 13,106 hours of respite provided in 2019 included day trips like this train ride for Nala and six other participants. Staff drove the group to Connersville, then hopped on the White Valley train to Metamora. The group spent two hours exploring Metamora, then took the train back to Connersville.

2019 Highlights ‣ 182 individuals participated in programs focused on fun and leisure

‣ 118 individuals from 70 families attended one or more Parents Night Out events

‣ 19 children ages 6 to 13 participated in Mini Dreamers summer activities to have fun and explore their potential

‣ 55 individuals participated in Special Olympics track and field, basketball, bocce and ballroom dancing
