What is DSA-Sec

• Introduced in 2004.

• It provides Primary 6 (P6) students with anopportunity to seek admission to a secondaryschool, based on a diverse range of academic andnon-academic achievements and talents that they candemonstrate beyond the Primary School LeavingExamination (PSLE).

• The selection is based on their achievements andtalents before the Primary School LeavingExamination (PSLE) results are released.

DSA

• All secondary schools can admit up to 20%

of their Sec1 intake via DSA-Sec.

• Schools that offer the Integrated Programme

(IP) can admit about 30-35% of their Sec1

IP intake.

DSA

• Specialised Independent Schools (NUS HighSchool, School of the Arts, and School ofScience and Technology) will admit 100% oftheir Sec1 intake through DSA.

• From 2019, all students will apply for DSA-Sec through a centralised DSA-Sec portalto all DSA-Sec schools (except the 3schools mentioned above and theSingapore Sports School).

• Student identifies the school(s) he/she would like to apply to.

• Submit application using the new online DSA-Sec Portal.

• Free-of-charge

• Open for four weeks

• Access the portal using your SingPass.

• Can indicate up to three choices during the application

• Only need to provide (1) your child’s choice of schools and talent areas and (2) your contact details.

• Your child’s primary school information will be shared directly by MOE with the secondary schools.

• You do not need to submit testimonials and hardcopy documents.

• Primary Schools are not required to provide any testimonials from 2019.

• Schools may consider students based on his/her talents, achievements, personal qualities and primary school results.

• Schools may conduct interviews, tests, trials or selection camps.

• Confirmed Offer (CO) –students still need PSLE results that qualify him/her for a course offered by the school

• Student collects his/her DSA-Sec allocation result from his/her primary school, together with his/her PSLE results.

• Student who is unsuccessful in the DSA-Sec Exercise will be notified of the outcome of the application and will participate in the Secondary One Posting Exercise.

• IMPORTANT to note:

• DSA is a commitment on the part of both the

student and the secondary school.

• Students successfully allocated to their DSA-Sec

schools will NOT be allowed to participate in the

annual S1 Posting to opt for secondary schools.

• They will also NOT be allowed to transfer to

another school after the release of the PSLE results.
