President’s MessageAs we move positively into 2019 we contemplate what we'veexperienced, what we've missed; what we've accomplished, how we've grown. Through a lens of reflection, appreciation, andgratitude, we seemore clearly our diverse West Volusia businesscommunities and how they enrich our lives; our coworkers andcolleagues, and how they push us to be better, treasure therichness and diversity of our community and the beauty of oursurroundings.

If we're focused and determined, we have meaningful work thatwe enjoy; or at least, work that provides opportunities to growand the ability to support our lifestyle and families. Our Chamberis truly unique, and we represent a phenomenal cross-section ofbusinesses and non-profit organizations, working together forthe greater good. Our Board of Directors and Chamber Team isreflective of that as well. We enjoy our work; we understand it tobe impactful and important; we are here to help.

The Chamber has a network of small businesses and corporatepartners who support the work we do, whether it is board orcommittee service, policy guidance, or special event support. Our members provide financial support by way of programs and

Welcome - New Members

Thank You - Renewals

In 1992 my parents Rick and Judy Armstrong purchased Holly Bluff Marina on the St. Johns River in DeLand. Atthe time I was just going into college and stayed in Orlando where I enjoyed a successful career in radio followedby a brief stint in the motorcycle industry. It was always nice to step away from that world for a minute to takemy friends out on one of our rental houseboats, and I always tried to be at the marina for the annual DeLandChristmas Boat Parade. In 2017 I decided to join the family business and purchased a houseboat so I could liveand work alongside my family. It’s one of the best decisions I have ever made. I absolutely love where I live, work, and play.

Once I was settled in to river life, my mother recommended I get involved with the Chamber. She had been a vital member of a Chamberin previous years and recognized the benefits of being an active participant. I knew the Chamber had taken over the Boat Parade in2017. As boaters and owners of a business on the river, it is an event that we adore so I joined the parade committee to assist with socialmedia marketing and event production.

Working with the Chamber team to not only promote and produce the boat parade but also create a new free viewing event for ourcommunity was truly rewarding. This traditional holiday event on our beautiful and historic waterway is a real blessing for those whoexperience it and I hope to have the opportunity to help the Boat Parade flourish for years to come. Plus, I was able to cultivate newrelationships with other Chamber members and look forward to spending time with these new friends at all the fantastic events andestablishments that our area has to offer.

See you out on the river!
