Minimum OrderThe minimum order is $50. Orders totaling less than $100 are subject to a $10 processing fee. The per item minimum for light etch is 36 pieces.

Payment TermsDue to the custom nature of our product, first-time orders must be paid in advance. Sterling accepts personal or business checks, as well as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Upon credit approval, Sterling can accommodate billing terms of net 30 days. Invoices may be paid online at www.sterlingcutglass.com.

Production TimeStandard production time is 2-3 weeks after an order is received, plus shipping time. All orders require an IN-HANDS DATE in order to be scheduled for production. Orders without a specified date, or ”ASAP”, will be produced as time and order volume permits. Faster turnaround may be available – please contact your sales or customer service rep for details.

Rush OrdersAn order submitted allowing less than the standard production time may be subject to a 10% rush surcharge, plus expedited delivery charges if required.

ProofsTo ensure accuracy of production, proofs will be faxed or emailed on all orders.

Proof ApprovalsTo ensure on time delivery of your order, proofs must be approved within 48 hours of receipt. Failure to approve proofs within 48 hours may result in delivery delays, expedited shipping charges and rush order charges. PROMPT PROOF APROVALS KEEP YOUR ORDER ON SCHEDULE!

In order to maintain the clarity of the art and text, a raster file will need to be redrawn before it can be used in the etching process.

Custom Order MerchandiseCustom items or special order merchandise requires payment in advance (minimum 50% deposit) to initiate the order. Overruns and underruns up to 10% are industry standard. Such orders are non-cancellable. Correctly custom-etched or engraved merchandise is not returnable. Returns of plain merchandise are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Returns are not accepted without prior return authorization.

Opposite Side EtchingSome items allow space for a second side etch (e.g. theopposite side of a drinking glass). Please add a deep etch charge of $3.50 per glass. In the case of large volume glassware orders, opposite side light etching (where available) may be added for a surcharge of $1.20 per glass. Please note that set-up charges may apply in addition to the above etching charges.

Shipping and HandlingOrders are shipped prepaid with freight and handlingcharges added to the invoice. All shipments are F.O.B. Erlanger, KY 41018. Our standard method of shipping isFedEx; however, common carrier truck shipments, as wellas air freight services are also available. Freight Claims/BreakageSterling carefully packages all shipments to ensure safe arrival, using our eco-friendly packing peanuts. In the unlikely event of breakage in transit, Sterling will file the claim with the freight carrier; however, we require your adherence to the following steps: 1. Open immediately upon receipt and inspect all contents. 2. In the event of breakage you must save the outer carton, all packing materials and contents. 3. Report the damage within 48 hours to Sterling’s customer service department at 1-800-543-1317.Following this procedure will help ensure timely replacement of your merchandise. No claims for damage or shortage will be honored after 10 days from receipt of goods. Replacements will be shipped via ground service within 48 hours of the breakage report.

GuaranteeSterling Cut Glass guarantees all workmanship to be first quality. Because most of our offerings are hand crafted, it is natural for small air bubbles, chill marks, flow lines or slight surface irregularities to appear. These unique variations are not considered defects. We make every effort to select pieces which demonstrate the finest representation of the craft and to minimize any appearance of these characteristics in or around the etching area. Returns cannot be accepted without prior written authorization.

Crystal Care InstructionsDue to the delicate nature of glass and crystal, hand washingis recommended. Dry with a lint-free cloth to prevent scratching. To avoid breakage, do not expose glass or crystal to extreme temperatures or to abrupt temperature changes.

GlassThe process of glassmaking has remained essentially the samesince ancient times. Most glass is a mixture of silica, obtainedfrom beds of fine sand or from pulverized sandstone, an alkalito lower the melting point, usually a form of soda or potash forfiner glass, lime as a stabilizer and cullet (waste glass to assist in melting the mixture). The materials are fused at high temperatures in seasoned kilns, boiled down, skimmed, and cooled several hundreds of degrees. The molten glass is ladled or poured into molds and pressed or blown (sometimes into molds). The shaped glass is annealed to relieve stresses caused by manipulation, thenis slowly cooled.

Non-Lead Crystal/CrystallineNon-lead crystal is glass with a high content of potash, yielding weight, clarity and sparkle without adding lead content.

Full Lead Crystal*The addition of lead to the glassmaking process yields a product with increased luster, clarity and weight. It is also a slightly softer material than glass, which lends itself well to hand cutting and polishing. Leaded crystal varies in lead composition, but to be considered full lead crystal, the lead content must be 24% or higher. The higher the lead content, the more sparkle is achieved, but more skill is required to form a shape at the blowing stage.

Silver-PlatedSilver-plated products are genuine silver, plated over brass. Silver plated products are all lead-free and food safe. All silver will tarnish over time, particularly in humid conditions. If polishing is necessary, use a silver polishing compound and gently buff the surface with a soft cotton cloth so as not to erode or scratch plating.

CopperOur genuine copper-plated products are lead-free, food safe and tarnish free. If polishing is necessary, gently buff with a damp cloth.

Laser EngravingLaser engraving creates a digital "burned" image from a directed laser beam, which vaporizes the substrate material. The resulting image is detailed, permanent and indelible.

Light EtchLight etch is a delicate but permanent surface etch. As illustrated, the lightetch technique does necessitate small breaks in any enclosed letter or area.When budgetary concerns are paramount, light etching provides a quality, yet economical solution.

Deep EtchDeep etch is our highest caliber etching technique, providing the ultimate appearance in etched crystal. Your crestor logo is crisply cut, rendering a detailed and permanent dimensional image.

EngravingDiamond engraving uses a non-rotating tool with a cone-shaped diamond tip, which is dragged with pressure through metal, leaving a beautiful impression. Diamond-drag creates quality engraving that compares to hand engraving. The width of stroke is constant and does not vary in depth. Diamond-drag is recommended for soft metals such as silver, copper, pewter, aluminum and nickel.

ColorMarkColorMark is a durable UV printing process that allows for printing on almost any flat object or surface, which lends itself well to glass, crystal and metal finishes. Printing with UV allows for any logo or copy to be printed at high resolution without limitations or alterations, producing unique and colorful awards and gifts. Products are not dishwasher safe. Clean with ammonia-free cleaner using a soft lint-free cloth.
