ROTARY INTERNATIONAL updates the STANDARD CLUB CONSTITUTION. A summary of the Significant Changes in the RI Standard Club Constitution that affect OUR Club.
The purpose of the revision by R.I. was to simplify the language significantly, just as they did with the bylaws 2-years ago. 1. The addition of a provision that allows the Board to change the rules in Article 7- Meetings of the Constitution through our bylaws. We have done that, with our own Bylaw Article 12 that states that we can adopt policies to achieve this purpose. This essentially officially allows us to have our Alternative Meeting without it being a Satellite Club Meeting (intent on starting a NEW club.) 2. Article 7, Section 2 (a) defines the new Annual Meeting as requiring not just elections but the “presentation of a mid-year report, including current year income and expenses, together with a financial report on the previous year” before December 31 of each year. 3. Article 10, Section 2 allows us to have other types of members, locally, as long as we can report them as either Active or Honorary to R.I. 4. Article 11, Section 2 throws away all the old limits on the number of members who could fill a particular classification. 5. Article 12, Attendance, Section 8 allows for similar exceptions to the attendance requirements if established through our bylaws, and adopted as policies, similar to item 1. above.

On Monday, our country observes a Federal Holiday: Armistice Day, originally established to celebrate the end of
“The War to End ALL Wars.”
Since that wasn‟t achieved, the name was changed to Veteran’s Day – a day in which our country recognizes those men and women who have
sacrificed their mental and physical health, their lives, and the well-being of their families in order to maintain USA political and economic interests
around the world. We thank them for their sacrifice.
The guns fell silent
on the 11th hour,
of the 11th day,
of the 11th month,
1918.
IN FLANDERS FIELDS Lt. Col. John McCrae, MD – Canadian Army
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
