DONČIĆ’S TRIPLE-DOUBLES: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić, who turned just 21 years old on 2/28/20, has posted 21 career triple-doubles. He’s already tied Jason Kidd’s franchise record for most triple-doubles (it took Dončić just 119 games to reach 21 triple-doubles with Dallas, while Kidd finished with 21 in 500 games with the franchise). The 21 triple-doubles Dončić recorded before his 21st birthday are by far the most by a player 20-or-younger in NBA history. He had eight last season, breaking Magic Johnson’s previous such record of seven, which was set before the Mavericks franchise was even formed in 1980 (Johnson’s record for most triple-doubles by a player 20-or-under had stood since 3/30/80). Dončić’s eight triple-doubles in 2018-19 not only marked a Dallas rookie record (previous most: four by Kidd in 1994-95), but also represented the third-most by any rookie in the history of the league (behind Oscar Robertson’s 26 in 1960-61 and Ben Simmons’ 12 in 2017-18). After earning NBA Rookie of the Year honors in 2018-19, Dončić has taken his game to another level in 2019-20. The former EuroLeague MVP has recorded a league-high-tying 13 triple-doubles this season (LeBron James also has 13). Dončić posted 10 triple-doubles through his first 31 games in 2019-20, breaking Kidd’s franchise record for most in a single season (Kidd had nine in 1995-96). Of Dončić’s 13 triple-doubles this year, two have been 40-point triple-doubles, nine have been 30-point triple-doubles and all 13 have been of the 20-point variety. He became the first player in NBA history to record multiple 40-point triple-doubles before his 21st birthday after he went for 42 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists vs. San Antonio on 11/18/19 and 41 points, 12 boards and 11 dimes at Detroit in Mexico City on 12/12/19. James (once) is the only other player in league history to record a 40-point triple-double before turning 21. What’s more, no Maverick had ever produced a 40-point triple-double prior to Dončić. In addition to being the only Maverick to register a 40-point triple-double, Dončić also owns franchise marks for most 30-point triple-doubles (10) and 20-point triple-doubles (19). His 10 career 30-point triple-doubles are tied for the ninth-most all-time. In addition to posting 21 career triple-doubles, Dončić has also finished either one rebound or one assist shy of a triple-double nine times in his career (he’s come up one rebound short four times and one assist short five times).

PORZINGIS NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mavericks forward/center Kristaps Porzingis was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, March 1. It marked the second time in his career that he garnered Player of the Week honors (he was named Eastern Conference POW for games played from 10/30-11/5/17, with New York). Porzingis led the Mavericks to a 3-1 week with averages of 26.3 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game – all team highs for that stretch. He totaled at least 24 points and 12 boards in each of the final three games during the week. Porzingis became the second Maverick to win the award this season, joining Luka Dončić (who won it for games played from 11/18-11/24/19). KP’S BIG STRETCH: Mavericks center Kristaps Porzingis has produced four 30-point, 10-rebound efforts over his last 11 games (since Jan. 31), after he had only three 30/10 outings in his previous 222 career games combined. Below is a comparison of Porzingis’ stats before Jan. 31 and since that date:

KP GOES FOR 38 POINTS, 13 BOARDS, 5 BLOCKS AND 6 3-POINTERS AT MINNESOTA: Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis connected on a career-high-tying six 3-pointers en route to scoring a season-high-tying 38 points and adding 13 rebounds and five blocks in 37 minutes at Minnesota on 3/1/20. “The Unicorn,” who was already the lone player in NBA history to record 35 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and five 3-pointers in a game (which he achieved as a member of the Knicks vs. the L.A. Lakers on 12/12/17), collected his second career such game. He joined Dirk Nowitzki as the only Mavericks to produce a 35-point, 10-rebound, five-block effort (Nowitzki had two such games). Porzingis also joined the Lakers’ Anthony Davis as the only players to record a 35-point, 10-rebound, five-block stat line in 2019-20 (Davis went for 37 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks vs. Portland on 1/31/20). MORE DONČIĆ CHARTS: Luka Dončić has produced four 25-point, 10-rebound, 15-assist games in 2019-20. LeBron James (1) is the only other player to record a 25-10-15 game this season. All four of Dončić’s career 25-10-15 efforts occurred before his 21st birthday. De’Aaron Fox (1) is the only other player in league history to record a 25-10-15 line before turning 21. With his next 25-10-15 game, Dončić will join Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook as the only players in league history to produce five-or-more games with at least 25-10-15 in a single season. Dončić has also produced a league-high 14 30-point, 10-rebound, seven-assist games in 2019-20. Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo ranks second with nine such games this year. Dončić has now recorded 16 career games with 30-10-7 – by far the most by a player before his 21st birthday in NBA history. In fact, it’s twice as many as the next closest player on the list (James had eight such games before turning 21).

LUKA AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić is averaging team highs of 28.5 points, 8.8 assists and 9.3 rebounds per game this season. Among NBA leaders, he ranks sixth in scoring, fourth in assists and 18th in rebounding. Since the ABA-NBA merger (1976-77), there have been only six players who have finished a season ranked in the top-20 among qualifiers in points per game, rebounds per game and assists per game: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (twice), Larry Bird (eight times), Grant Hill (twice), Kevin Garnett (2002-03), LeBron James (twice) and Russell Westbrook (three times). In 49 games this year, Dončić has tallied 20-plus points 45 times, 25-plus points 36 times, 30-plus 21 times, 35-plus points 11 times and 40-plus on four occasions (Dallas is a perfect 4-0 this season when he scores 40). He has also recorded a league-high-tying 13 triple-doubles, including nine 30-point triple-doubles, six 35-point triple-doubles and two 40-point triple-doubles. RAINING THREES: The Mavericks are 12-1 this season when they knock down at least 18 3-pointers in a game. They’ve connected on 20-or-more 3-pointers in a game eight times this season (Dallas has gone 7-1 in those games), after they had only three such games in the franchise’s previous 39 seasons combined (one in 2017-18 and two in 2018-19). The franchise is 9-2 all-time in games in which it records 20-plus made 3s. Dallas set a new franchise record for most 3-pointers made in a game after it went 24-of-51 (.471) from deep at Golden State on 12/28/19 (the previous club record was 22 made 3-pointers on three occasions). The Mavericks have hit at least five 3-pointers in a franchise-record 326 consecutive regular-season games (3/9/16-3/2/20). It’s the second-longest such streak in NBA history (Houston is currently riding an NBA-record streak of 326 straight games with at least five triples from 3/5/16-2/29/20). Dallas connected on least 10 3-pointers in a franchise-record 34 straight games (11/18/19-1/27/20), which marked the third-longest such run in league history. Dallas knocked down 13-or-more 3-pointers in 15 straight games from 12/7/19-1/6/20, tying the Rockets’ NBA record for most consecutive games with 13-plus treys (Houston made 13-plus 3s in 15 straight games spanning two seasons from 3/17-10/26/19). Dallas finished 1,022-of-3,002 (.340) from long distance in 2018-19, setting new team records for 3-pointers made and attempted in a season (Dallas went 967-of-2,688, .360, from deep in 2017-18, which was its previous most 3-pointers made and attempted in a season).

KP GOES FOR 30/10 IN THREE CONSECUTIVE GAMES: Mavericks forward/center Kristaps Porzingis posted three straight 30-point, 10-rebound efforts from 1/31-2/5/20 (he did not play vs. Atlanta 2/1/20 due to injury recovery, left knee). Prior to the three-game run, Porzingis had never even recorded back-to-back games with 30/10. It also marked just the second time in his career that he had even scored 30-plus points three times in a row (also: 10/27-10/30/17). After tallying 35 points (12-20 FGs, 10-13 FTs) and 12 rebounds in 36 minutes at Houston on 1/31/20, the 7-3 Latvian went for 38 points (10-20 FGs, 6-13 3FGs, 12-12 FTs) and 12 rebounds in 36 minutes at Indiana on 2/3/20, and 32 points (10-20 FGs, 5-11 3FGs, 7-7 FTs) and 12 boards in 29 minutes vs. Memphis on 2/5/20. He joined Dirk Nowitzki (3 games from 1/12-1/16/07) and teammate Luka Dončić (4 games from 12/31/19-1/6/20) as the only Mavericks to go for at least 30 points and 10 boards in three straight games. He also joined reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and Dončić as the only players to record three consecutive 30-point, 10-rebound games this season. Porzingis began the three-game run with back-to-back 35/10 outings (35/12 at Houston 1/31/20, 38/12 at Indiana 2/3/20), after he recorded just one 35/10 effort in his first 222 games combined (37/10 vs. the L.A. Lakers 12/12/17). Over the three-game stretch (1/31/-2/5/20), Porzingis averaged 35.0 points and 12.0 boards per game. He shot 53.3 percent (32-of-60) from the field, 42.9 percent (12-of-28) from deep and 90.6 percent (29-of-32) from the three-throw line. CARLISLE RECORDS 500TH WIN WITH DALLAS: Rick Carlisle, who is in his 12th season as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, recorded his 500th win with the franchise with the team’s 123-100 victory over Atlanta on 2/1/20. It came in his 935th game with the club (he went 500-435, .535, in his first 935 games with the team). Carlisle became the 13th different head coach in NBA history to win at least 500 games with a single team, joining Gregg Popovich (San Antonio), Jerry Sloan (Utah), Red Auerbach (Boston), Red Holzman (New York), Phil Jackson (Chicago & the L.A. Lakers), John MacLeod (Phoenix), Alvin Attles (Golden State), Erik Spoelstra (Miami), Don Nelson (Milwaukee), Pat Riley (L.A. Lakers) Gene Shue (Washington) and Rudy Tomjanovich (Houston). He also became the 10th coach to win at least 500 games and an NBA championship with the same franchise (of the aforementioned coaches to win 500 games with a team, Sloan, MacLeod and Shue were the only ones that failed to capture a title with that same franchise). Carlisle, who was hired by the Mavericks on May 9, 2008, is the third-longest tenured head coach in the league behind San Antonio’s Popovich (hired in December 1996) and Miami’s Spoelstra (April 2008). DONČIĆ’S DEVELOPMENT: After the reigning NBA Rookie of Year went his first 44 career games without a triple-double, Luka Dončić has recorded 21 triple-doubles in his past 77 games. He’s averaging 28.5 points per game in 2019-20 – the third-highest scoring average by a player in his second season since the ABA-NBA merger (1976-77). TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK: Dallas has been a franchise that has historically taken care of the basketball. After a rare year that saw them rank 20th in the league in turnovers per game in 2018-19 (14.2), the Mavericks are back to their old ways protecting the rock in 2019-20. Dallas is averaging only 12.8 turnovers per game this season – the third-fewest in the NBA. Just two seasons ago in 2017-18, the Mavericks averaged the fewest giveaways in the league (12.3). It marked the ninth time in team history that they averaged the least amount of miscues in the Association but their first since doing so in three consecutive seasons from 2001-02 to 2003-04. The 2017-18 campaign also marked Dallas’ sixth straight season finishing in the top 5 for fewest turnovers per game (Dallas ranked 2nd in turnovers per game in both 2016-17 and 2015-16, 4th in 2014-15, 3rd in 2013-14, and T-5th in 2012-13). In the franchise’s previous 39 seasons (through 2018-19), Dallas ranked in the top 7 for fewest turnovers per game 32 times, including the top 5 on 27 occasions. LUKA SETS SINGLE-SEASON RECORD FOR MOST GAMES LEADING DALLAS IN POINTS, REBOUNDS & ASSISTS … AGAIN: Second-year guard Luka Dončić has led the Mavericks in points, rebounds and assists in the same game 22 times in 2019-20 (including ties) – by far the most in a single season in franchise history. He broke his own single-season record of 10 such games, which he set as a rookie in 2018-19. Prior to Dončić, the previous single-season mark was nine such games by the great Dirk Nowitzki in his MVP season (2006-07). Dončić has now led Dallas in points/rebounds/assists in the same game 32 times in his young career (including ties). Nowitzki (38) holds the Mavericks’ all-time record for number of times leading the team in all three categories in the same game.

MAVS SET FRANCHISE RECORD FOR MOST 45-POINT QUARTERS AND MOST 40-POINT FIRST QUARTERS: The Mavericks have produced five 45-point quarters in 2019-20 – a new franchise-record for the most 45-point periods in any one season. Prior to this year, the club-record for most 45-point quarters in any one season was two (three times – in 1989-90, 1991-92 and 1994-95). Dallas has gone 5-0 in the games it has produced a 45-point frame in this season. The Mavericks posted three 45-point quarters within their first 16 games of the 2019-20 season, after they went nearly a decade before they last recorded 45 points in a single period (prior to 2019-20, the Mavericks’ last 45-point quarter was a 49-point second quarter at New Jersey on 12/2/09). Dallas has started games hot with six 40-point FIRST quarters this year – also a team-record for the most in a single season (previous most: five in 1986-87). The Mavericks have gone 5-1 this season in the games in which they’ve recorded a 40-point opening quarter.

DONČIĆ BECOMES YOUNGEST PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY TO RECORD A 25-15-15 GAME: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić registered a team-high 25 points to go along with a game-high 15 rebounds and a career-high (game-high) 17 assists in 34:07 in Dallas’ 127-123 victory at Sacramento on 1/15/20. Dončić (20 years, 321 days) became the youngest player in NBA history to post a 25-point, 15-rebound, 15-assist effort. The previous youngest was Magic Johnson, who went for 33 points, 15 boards and 17 assists vs. Denver on 3/29/81 (at 21 years, 227 days). Dončić also became just the ninth player in league history to record a 25-15-15 game, joining Oscar Robertson (14 times), Wilt Chamberlain (four), Larry Bird (twice), Micheal Ray Richardson (once), Johnson (once), James Harden (once), Russell Westbrook (once) and Nikola Jokić (once). In fact, it was just the fourth 25-15-15 game since the turn of the century (Harden, Westbrook and Jokić recorded the other three). Dončić also joined Robertson (seven), Richardson, Johnson, Harden and Jokić as one of only six players ever to go for at least 25-15-17 in a game. Jokić, who tallied 30 points, 15 boards and 17 assists in 33:47 at Milwaukee on 2/15/18, is the only player besides Dončić to accomplish the feat in 34-or-fewer minutes. Dončić’s 17 dimes are tied for the second-most in a game this season (LeBron James had 19 the very same night vs. Orlando on 1/15/20, and Ben Simmons had 17 at Detroit on 12/23/19).

LUKA’S 30-10-7 STREAK: Mavericks guard Luka Dončić has recorded consecutive games with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists three different times this season. No other player has produced more than one such streak in 2019-20. Dončić recorded four straight games of 30-10-7 from 12/31/19-1/6/20, which was tied for the second-longest such streak in NBA history. Dončić joined Russell Westbrook (one 5-game streak), Oscar Robertson (four 4-game streaks), Wilt Chamberlain (one 4-game streak) and Elgin Baylor (one 4-game streak) as the only players in league history to produce a streak of four-or-more consecutive games with at least 30 points, 10 boards and seven assists. Dončić also went for 30-10-7 in back-to-back games vs. San Antonio and Golden State on 11/18/19 and 11/20/19, and back-to-back games before-and-after the All-Star break vs. Sacramento on 2/12/20 and at Orlando on 2/21/20. He saw his first two-game streak (11/18-11/20/19) come to an end on 11/22/19 when he finished with 30 points, seven rebounds and 14 assists vs. the Cavaliers. He had his four-game run (12/31/19-1/6/20) snapped on 1/8/20 when he finished with 27 points, nine boards and 10 assists against the Nuggets. He had his most recent run (2/12-2/21/20) end on 2/24/20 when he ended with 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

DONČIĆ YOUNGEST EVER WITH CONSECUTIVE 35-POINT TRIPLE-DOUBLES: Mavericks guard Luka Dončić (20 years, 265 days) became the first player in NBA history to record back-to-back 35-point triple-doubles before the age of 22 when he went for 42 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists vs. San Antonio (11/18/19) and 35-10-11 vs. Golden State (11/20/19). The second-year Slovenian accomplished the feat again (at 20 years, 312 days) when he went for 39-12-10 vs. Charlotte (1/4/20) and 38-11-10 vs. Chicago (1/6/20). Prior to Dončić, Oscar Robertson (22 years, 34 days) was the youngest player ever to produce back-to-back 35-point triple-doubles. Dončić, who is just the fourth player since the ABA-NBA merger (1976-77) to record consecutive 35-point triple-doubles (along with Michael Jordan, Russell Westbrook and James Harden), is also the only player to do it in back-to-back games 2019-20.

He joined Oscar Robertson as the only players in league history to total at least 2,000 points, 750 rebounds and 500 assists through their first 100 career games. His 2,332 points marked the most by a Maverick through 100 career games and the 18th-most in NBA history. Dončić also knocked down 250 3-pointers through his first 100 career contests, becoming the first player in NBA history to achieve the feat.

DONČIĆ BECOMES FIRST PLAYER EVER TO RECORD MULTIPLE 30-POINT TRIPLE-DOUBLES IN 30-OR-FEWER MINUTES: After posting 35 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in just 25:30 (through 3 quarters) against the Warriors on 11/20/19, Luka Dončić tallied 31 points, 12 boards and 15 assists in just 30:05 (through three quarters) at Golden State on 12/28/19. He became the first player in NBA history to record multiple 30-point triple-doubles of any kind in 30-or-fewer minutes played. His 35-point, 10-rebound, 11-assist effort in 25:30 on 11/20/19 marked the first time in NBA history that a player ever produced a 35-point triple-double in under 29 minutes. Prior to Dončić, the fewest minutes played in a 35-point triple-double performance was 29:34 by James Harden vs. Cleveland on 1/11/19 (Harden finished with 43-10-12 in that game, and was also the last player to have a 35-point triple-double through three quarters of play). Dončić’s 30-point, 12-rebound, 15-assist stat line in 30:05 on 12/28/19 also represented the first time a player ever went for 30-12-15 in 30 minutes or less. It was also his third straight triple-double against the Warriors (Dončić had 23 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists at Golden State on 3/23/19) – all achieved through three quarters of play. He became the only player to post a triple-double through three quarters in three consecutive games against a team over the last 20 seasons. Here’s a look at Dončić’s stat lines for his three consecutive triple-doubles against the Warriors:

DALLAS RECORDS FRANCHISE-RECORD THIRD 140-POINT GAME IN 2019-20: Dallas defeated Golden State 141-121 on the road on 12/28/19, after it beat the Warriors 142-94 at home on 11/20/19 and the Cavaliers 143-101 at American Airlines Center on 11/22/19. It marked the first time in franchise history that the Mavericks scored 140-plus points three times in a single season. Prior to the 2019-20 campaign, the team record for games with 140-plus points in a single season was two (four times back in the 80s – in 1982-83, 1984-85, 1986-87 and 1989-90). DALLAS’ TREMENDOUS SHOOTING VS. WARRIORS: The Mavericks went 48-of-92 (.522) from the field, 24-of-51 (.471) from deep – a new franchise-record for most 3-pointers made in a game – and a perfect 21-of-21 (1.000) from the foul line at Golden State on 12/28/19. The 24 triples marked the most 3s made by a team that also posted a perfect shooting night from the foul line (minimum 20 FTA) in NBA history. In fact, the Rockets, who made 21 3s (21-of-48, .438) while going 20-of-20 from the free-throw line in an overtime game at Memphis last season (3/20/19), are the only other team in league history to knock down 20 trifectas while also finishing perfect from the charity stripe (minimum 20 FTA). Not only did Dallas’ 24 3-pointers set a new team record for most 3-balls made in a game, but they were also tied for the seventh-most 3s made in a game in NBA history. The 21-of-21 clip from the line by itself marked the first time the Mavericks hit at least 20 free throws in a game without a miss since 2/28/16 vs. Minnesota (21-of-21, 1.000). The club record for most free throws made without a miss is 29 vs. Washington (11/26/07). The Mavericks’ 50-40-100 (.522 FG%, .471 3FG%, 1.000 FT%) shooting line on 12/28/19 was also the second time in two games this season that they’ve shot over 50 percent from the field against the Warriors while also connecting on 22-or-more made 3-pointers (Dallas went 51-of-90, .567, from the field and 22-of-38, .579, from deep vs. Golden State on 11/20/19). STREAK BUSTERS: The Mavericks snapped the Bucks’ 18-game win streak – which was tied for the 11th-longest in NBA history – with a 120-116 victory at Fiserv Forum on 12/16/19. It was the longest win streak broken up by Dallas in franchise history. The previous longest was 12 games, which the team accomplished twice during its championship season in 2010-11 (Dallas ended San Antonio’s 12-game win streak on 11/26/10 and also snapped Miami’s 12-game run on 12/20/10). It was also the second double-digit win streak Dallas ended in 2019-20 (the Mavericks snapped the Lakers’ 10-game win streak with a 114-100 win at STAPLES Center on 12/1/19). The 2010-11 season was the only other year Dallas snapped multiple win streaks of 10-plus games. What’s more, the Mavericks broke up the Bucks’ 18-game win streak without their leading scorer, Luka Dončić, who was out with a right ankle sprain. Dallas became the first team in NBA history to end a win streak of 15-plus games without its leading scorer (in terms of total points). The Mavericks have now snapped a double-digit win streak eight times in franchise history. The first time they busted a win streak of 10-or-more consecutive games was with a 135-109 victory over Denver at home on 4/9/88. All of the other instances since have occurred on the road. The Mavericks followed up their road victory over the Bucks on 12/16/19 by handing the Sixers just their second home loss of the season with a 117-98 win at the Wells Fargo Center on 12/20/19 (Philadelphia moved to 14-2 at home in 2019-20).

DALLAS’ IMPRESSIVE ROAD RECORD IN 2019-20: The Mavericks have gone 21-11 (.656) on the road in 2019-20, after they won 18 road games in their previous two seasons combined (Dallas won nine road games in both 2017-18 and 2018-19). They went 15-5 on the road to start the year, marking just the second time in franchise history they began a season by winning 15 of their first 20 road games (Dallas also went 15-5 in its first 20 road contests in 2006-07). Dallas won its first four road contests in 2019-20 (at New Orleans 10/25/19, at Denver 10/29/19, at Cleveland 11/3/19, at Memphis 11/9/19), also representing just the second time in team history it started a season 4-0 on the road. The only other year the Mavericks won four-or-more consecutive road games to begin a season was in 2002-03 (Dallas started 7-0 on the road that year). Dallas also became the only NBA team to win its first four road games in 2019-20. After dropping two in a row on the road (at Boston on 11/11/19 and at New York on 11/14/19), the Mavericks rattled off another seven consecutive road wins from 11/24-12/20/19 (with victories over Houston on 11/24/19, Phoenix on 11/29/19, the L.A. The seven-game run by Dallas from 11/24-12/20/19 tied the third-longest single-season road win streak in franchise history. The team-record is eight consecutive road wins (twice). Below is a list of the longest single-season road win streaks in Mavericks history, as well as a list of some of the more notable wins by Dallas in 2019-20.

PORZINGIS POURS IT ON: Mavericks forward/center Kristaps Porzingis recorded a career-best four consecutive 20-point, 10-rebound efforts from 12/14-12/20/19 (he averaged 23.3 ppg and 14.3 rpg over those four games and capped off the streak by pulling down a career-high 18 rebounds in a 117-98 win at Philadelphia on 12/20/19). The 7-3 Latvian also posted at least 20 points in five straight games from 12/12-12/20/19 (he averaged 22.6 ppg and 13.0 rpg in that stretch), finishing one game shy of tying his career-long 20-point streak (6 games from 11/3-11/15/17). Porzingis’ streak for both consecutive 20-point games and consecutive 20/10 outings was snapped when he finished with 19 points and 12 boards at Toronto (12/22/19). However, it still marked his fifth straight double-double – a new career-best double-double streak (his previous career-long double-double streak was 4 – set earlier this season from 11/14-11/20/19). During his five-game double-double streak (12/14-12/22/19), Porzingis averaged 22.4 points and 13.8 boards per game. LUKA’S 20-5-5 STREAK: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić recorded a streak of 20 consecutive games with at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists from 11/1-12/12/19, before seeing that run come to an end after suffering a right ankle sprain less than 2 minutes into the game vs. Miami on 12/14/19. The 20-game run by the then 20-year-old is the longest such streak since the ABA/NBA merger (1976-77). In fact, the five next longest streaks since the merger were all achieved by players 26-or-older – by Michael Jordan at age 26, Russell Westbrook at ages 26, 28 and 29, and LeBron James at age 33. What’s more, Oscar Robertson (twice) is the only other player in NBA history to produce a 20-5-5 streak of 20-or-more consecutive games. Robertson had a 25-game run from ages 24 to 25 in 1963-64. “The Big O” also had a 29-game run from ages 25 to 26 in 1964-65, which stands as the longest 20-5-5 streak in NBA history. After missing four games due to the right ankle sprain (12/16-12/22/19), Dončić had 24 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in his return vs. San Antonio (12/26/19), and 31-12-15 in his next game at Golden State (12/28/18). He posted 20-5-5 for the 22nd time in his last 23 games. It was also his 22nd straight 20-5-5 effort, minimum 2 minutes played.

MAVS RECORD THIRD 40-POINT WIN IN 2019-20: After defeating Golden State by 48 (142-94) on 11/20/19, Dallas beat Cleveland by 42 (143-101) on 11/22/19 and New Orleans by 46 (130-84) on 12/7/19. It marked the first time in franchise history that the Mavericks won three games by 40-or-more points in a single season. Prior to 2019-20, the franchise record for most 40-point wins in a season was two (Dallas had 2 40-point victories in both 1984-85 and 1988-89). In fact, three of the team’s 10 biggest wins in team history have come this season. The Mavericks’ 48-point victory over the Warriors on 11/20/19 is their fifth-largest, while their 46-point win over the Pelicans on 12/7/19 is their sixth-largest, and their 42-point victory over the Cavaliers on 11/22/19 is their 10th-biggest.

DONČIĆ RECORDS 40-POINT TRIPLE-DOUBLE IN WIN OVER PISTONS IN MEXICO CITY: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić poured in a game-high 41 points to go along with a team-high 12 rebounds and a game-high 11 assists in just 33:39 in Dallas’ 122-111 victory over Detroit in Mexico City on 12/12/19. It marked a new individual scoring record for an NBA regular-season game played in Mexico City. The previous record was held by Devin Booker, who had 39 points in both of the games the Suns played in Mexico City in 2016-17 (39 vs. Dallas 1/12/17, 39 vs. San Antonio 1/14/17). Dončić’s 41-point, 12-rebound, 11-assist effort also marked the first triple-double ever recorded in a regular-season contest played in Mexico City. His 33:39 were the second-fewest minutes needed to record a 40-point triple-double in the past 35-plus seasons. James Harden (43 points/10 rebounds/12 assists in 29:34 vs. Cleveland 1/11/19) is the only player to produce a 40-point triple-double in fewer minutes since 1983-84. The matchup between the Mavericks and Pistons on 12/12/19 marked the 29th game in Mexico since 1992, the most NBA games held in any country outside the United States and Canada. MAVS BECOME 4TH TEAM IN NBA HISTORY TO WIN CONSECUTIVE GAMES BY 40+ POINTS: After defeating the Warriors 48 (142-94) on 11/20/19, the Mavericks beat the Cavaliers by 42 (143-101) on 11/22/19. It marked the first time in franchise history that the Mavericks won consecutive games by 35-plus points. The combined margin of victory in those two games was 90 points, a new club-record. The team’s previous largest margin of victory over a two-game span was 68, coming in wins on 1/13/85 (beat Portland 124-101) and 1/15/85 (defeated Golden State 149-104). What’s more, Dallas became just the fourth team in NBA history to win back-to-back games by 40-or-more points. The only other teams in league history to achieve the feat were Phoenix (in April 1989), Sacramento (December 1992) and New York (April 1994). Dallas also posted back-to-back 140-plus point games for the first time franchise history. The 143-and-142-point outings marked the sixth-and-seventh highest-scoring games in Mavericks history. In fact, they were the fourth-and-fifth-most points put up by Dallas in a regulation-length game in club history. DALLAS RECORDS SECOND 5-GAME WIN STREAK IN 2019-20: After winning five in a row from 11/16-11/24/19, Dallas rattled off another five straight wins from 11/29-12/7/19. The Mavericks won 10-of-11 for the first time since their championship season in 2010-11. That year, Dallas won 17-of-18 from 11/20-12/27/10, 11-of-12 from 1/19-2/9/11 and 18-of-19 from 1/22-3/4/11. Prior to recording two five-game win streaks within a span of 11 games in 2019-20, the Mavericks hadn’t won five consecutive games since 2015-16 (Dallas had a 6-game win streak from 3/28-4/8/16). That year was also the last time Dallas reached the postseason. During their first five-game win streak from 11/16-11/24/19, the Mavericks defeated Toronto (11/16/19), San Antonio (11/18/19), Golden State (11/20/19) and Houston (11/24/19), and won those games by an average margin of 23.8 points. Following their win at Houston (11/24/19), the Mavericks had led at the end of 18 straight quarters (the last time they trailed at the end of a quarter was at halftime of their game against Toronto on 11/16/19). Dallas’ second five-game win streak came in a different fashion. The Mavericks won the first four games (at Phoenix 11/29/19, at the L.A. Lakers 12/1/19, at New Orleans 12/3/19 and vs. Minnesota 12/4/19) after trailing by double digits in all of them. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it marked the first time Dallas had such a four-game win streak within a single season since 1997-98 (that’s as far back as they can go on due to play-by-play limitations historically). The Mavericks trailed for only 34 seconds in their 130-84 victory over the Pelicans on 12/7/19 however. During its second five-game win streak (11/29-12/7/19), Dallas won those five games by an average margin of 19 points. DONČIĆ GOES FOR 33-18-5 IN JUST THREE QUARTERS AT NOLA: Mavericks guard Luka Dončić poured in a game-high 33 points to go along with a career-high (game-high) 18 rebounds and five assists in just 28:29 in Dallas’ 118-97 win at New Orleans on 12/3/19 (he did not play in the fourth quarter). Dončić (20 years, 278 days) joined John Drew as the only players in NBA history to post those numbers in a game before turning 21 years old (Drew had three such games for Atlanta in 1974-75). He had 15 points and 10 rebounds in the third period alone, becoming the only guard in the last 20 seasons to collect at least 15 points and 10 boards in a single quarter. The 10 third-quarter boards marked a new career-high for rebounds in a single period.

DONČIĆ NAMED WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Mavericks guard Luka Dončić was named the Kia NBA Western Conference Player of the Month for games played in October/November. Dončić, 20 at the time, became the youngest Western Conference Player of the Month winner since the league began issuing the award by conference in 2001-02. He also became the first Maverick to garner the award since Dirk Nowitzki in April 2009. It marked the eighth time in franchise history that a Maverick won Player of the Month honors. Nowitzki was the sole recipient of the award five times in his career (for December 2004, February 2005, December 2005, February 2007 and April 2009) and also shared the honor with Michael Finley and Steve Nash in November 2002. Aguirre was the first Maverick ever to take home the award, winning it for January 1984. Dončić led Dallas to a 12-6 (.667) record in October/November with averages of 30.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 9.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 34.2 minutes per game. DONČIĆ AVERAGES 30-POINT TRIPLE-DOUBLE IN NOVEMBER: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić finished the month of November with averages of 32.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 10.4 assists in 14 games. He became just the third player in NBA history to average a 30-point triple-double over any calendar month (minimum 10 games played), joining Oscar Robertson (5 times) and Russell Westbrook (twice). In fact, he became just the fifth player in league history (minimum 10 games) to even average a triple-double during any calendar month, along with Westbrook (8 times), Robertson (7 times), Wilt Chamberlain (twice) and LeBron James (once, in February 2018). Dallas went 9-5 (.642) in November. DONČIĆ NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mavericks guard Luka Dončić was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, marking the first time in his career that he has received the honor. Dončić led the Mavericks to a perfect 4-0 week with averages of 37.0 points (.554 FG%, .444 3FG%, .788 FT%), 8.5 rebounds and 11.8 assists per game and victories over San Antonio (11/18/19), Golden State (11/20/19), Cleveland (11/22/19) and Houston (11/24/19). He posted at least 30 points and 10 assists in all four games, becoming the youngest player in NBA history (20 years, 269 days) to record four consecutive 30-point, 10-assist efforts (the previous youngest was Oscar Robertson at 22 years, 34 days). He also led all players outright in scoring all in four games and led the Mavericks outright in assists in all four. The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year became the first Maverick to garner Player of the Week honors since Jose Juan Barea in 2016 (Barea won the award for games played from 3/28-4/3/16). He also became the 13th different Maverick to win the award, joining Jay Vincent, Mark Aguirre, Roy Tarpley, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd, Michael Finley, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Monta Ellis and Barea. DONČIĆ BECOMES YOUNGEST PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY TO RECORD FOUR STRAIGHT 30-POINT, 10-ASSIST GAMES: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić posted four consecutive 30-point, 10-assist games from 11/18-11/24/19 (42 points/12 assists vs. San Antonio 11/18/19, 35 points/11 assists vs. Golden State 11/20/19, 30 points/14 assists vs. Cleveland 11/22/19, 41 points/10 assists at Houston 11/24/19). Dončić (20 years, 269 days) became the youngest player in league history to record four consecutive 30-point, 10-assist outings. Oscar Robertson (22 years, 34 days) was the previous youngest to achieve the feat. Dončić also joined Michael Jordan (1988-89), Russell Westbrook (2016-17) and James Harden (2016-17) as the only players since 1983-84 to produce four consecutive games of 30-plus points and 10-plus assists. What’s more, no Maverick had recorded back-to-back 30-point, 10-assist games prior to Dončić’s four-game run. In fact, 6-7 Slovenian joined Mark Aguirre, Jamal Mashburn and Dirk Nowitzki as the only Mavericks to score 30-plus points in four-or-more consecutive games. After Dončić posted his second 40-point, 10-assist outing at Houston (11/24/19), he joined LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to record multiple 40-point, 10-assist efforts before their 21st birthday (James had 3 such games). Over the four-game stretch (which saw Dallas go 4-0), Dončić averaged 37.0 points, 11.8 assists and 8.5 rebounds per game. MAVS SCORE 135+ POINTS IN 3 STRAIGHT GAMES FOR FIRST TIME IN TEAM HISTORY: The Mavericks racked up 135-plus in three consecutive games (all wins) from 11/20-11/24/19, marking the first time in franchise history they accomplished the feat (Dallas defeated Golden State 142-94 at home on 11/20/19, beat Cleveland 143-101 at home on 11/22/19 and Houston 137-123 on the road on 11/24/19). In fact, they became just the second team since 1992 to tally 135-plus in three straight games, joining the Phoenix Suns (Phoenix went for 140+ in 3 straight wins from 2/17-2/20/09). MAVS SWEEP 4-GAME HOMESTAND FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2010-11: Dallas swept a four-game homestand from 11/16-11/22/19, which occurred against the four franchises that have accounted for the last six NBA championships (Toronto, San Antonio, Golden State and Cleveland). It marked the Mavericks’ first sweep of a homestand of four-or-more games since their championship season in 2010-11 (Dallas swept a four-game homestand from 1/25-1/31/11). The Mavericks trailed for only 2 minutes and 41 seconds during the homestand. They won those four games by an average margin of 26.3 points. DONČIĆ RECORDS 35-POINT TRIPLE-DOUBLE IN FEWEST MINUTES EVER: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić went for 35 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in just 25 minutes and 30 seconds of action in Dallas’ 142-94 victory over Golden State on 11/20/19 (he sat out the entire fourth quarter, as Dallas’ lead never dipped below 40 in the fourth). The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year became the first player in league history to record a 35-point triple-double in under 29 minutes. Prior to Dončić, the fewest minutes played in a 35-point triple-double performance was 29:34 by James Harden vs. Cleveland on 1/11/2019 (Harden finished with 43-10-12 in that game, and was also the last player to have a 35-point triple-double through 3 quarters of play). DONČIĆ’S HUGE FIRST QUARTER VS. WARRIORS: Mavericks second-year guard Luka Dončić had a 22-point, 5-rebound, 5-assist first quarter against Golden State on 11/20/19, single-handedly outscoring, outrebounding and out-assisting the Warriors in the period (Golden State finished with 16 points, 4
