Muhammad

• Born in 570 AD

• When he was 40, he started having visions.

• He then started to meditate on a mountain near Mecca.

• At one point the angel Gabriel appeared to him.

• This revelation inspired him to write the Qur'an

• With support from his wife, he was able to spread his ideas, even though Mecca was populated by people with polytheistic religions

The Very Beginning

• The prophet Muhammad was the one who spread Islam.

• Muslims believe that it began way before Muhammad. The Qur'an, the main scripture of the Islamic religion, was only spread by Muhammad. The Qur'an itself says that it was given to the angel Gabriel by God. Then Gabriel gave it to Muhammad, and he spread the Qur'an.

Islamic Expansion

1

When the first Muslims arrive in a Western democracy, they keep a low profile and make few if any demands on the host nation.

2

When a sufficient number of Muslims gather, they request recognition of the Sharia law being applied within their own community.

3

When Muslims gain critical mass in a few cities, they begin to infiltrate key institutions of the host society.

4

When Muslims become a significant minority in the host country, they demand incorporating into its legal system elements of the Sharia Law.

5

When the Muslim population becomes the majority and/or Islam gains control of a region, Sharia Law is imposed across the region, which is then locked down against non-Islamic influences, including the Gospel.

The Cause of the

Crusades

History suggests that Islam has been Imperialistic and would still like to be for religious reasons. This is supported a lot by the Islamic invasions of Jerusalem. The Islamic invasions lasted roughly between the years 630-1095, 1095 being the date Pope Urban II preaches the first crusade in hopes to take back the holy land in 1099.

Conflicts with Cristianity

• The Jews and Christians believe that the descendants of Isaac were given the Holy Land

• The Muslims believe that the descendants of Ishmael were given the Holy Land

More Causes of Conflicts

The Qur'an acknowledges the other scriptures, such as both testaments of the bible.

But the Qur'an also asks its reader to compare it to those

other books.

It says that Jesus existed, but denies his crucifixion. This

caused conflicts with Christians.
