Oct. 6, 8pm BJohn Morris Russell, conductorShe became a household name during American Idol in 2007 when Simon Cowell called her his “personal favorite.” Doolittle won over the hearts of all with her impressive vocals. She continues to thrill audiences everywhere from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to The White House, Carnegie Hall, and now Kleinhans Music Hall with her BPO debut.

He was nominated for the Tony Award five times, and won twice. His most famous composition, Hello, Dolly!, became a #1 hit for Louis Armstrong. I Am What I Am from La Cage aux Folles became a disco favorite by Gloria Gaynor.

Her career began in the mid-1960s with the folk-rock group Stone Poneys, and in 1971, she put together the band that would become the Eagles. Her music is the perfect complement for the full orchestral treatment, a rock band, and Callaway’s powerhouse vocals.

Sat. Feb. 23, 8pm A BMichael Cavanaugh is a charismatic performer, musician, and actor, handpicked by Billy Joel to star in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out. He evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man himself and has now created a show including the music of Elton John and many other rockers.

Sat. Mar. 16, 8pm BDefy gravity and travel over the rainbow with a cast of top vocalists as we take a musical journey down the fabled yellow brick road and L. Frank Baum's classic novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The event pays tribute to the story as told on Broadway (Wicked, The Wiz), in Hollywood (The Wizard of Oz, Return to Oz) and on the radio (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Tin Man). This show is especially noteworthy to Buffalonians as the composer who started it all, Harold Arlen, was born right here!
