David Veile (1.0 dual)

David Ridings is a former Metro Nashvi l le Police Off icer , and Nashvi l le native. He has a BS, and MCJ from MTSU in Cr iminal Justice Administr ation, and graduated NSL in 1998. He worked as an intern at the Davidson County DA?s Off ice in 1997-98, Mar r ied to his best fr iend Lynda, father of 5 boys, active member and elder at Cornerstone Church in Madison. He is a Member of NCDD, DUIDLA, and a Li fetime Member of TACDL. David?s practice has evolved over the 20+ years into 100% Cr iminal Law , w ith a pr imar y focus on DUI Defense.

Pr ior to becoming an attorney, David Vei l e was a police off icer and sergeant w ith the Metro Nashvi l le Police Depar tment for seven years. He is cer ti f ied as a police instr uctor by the P.O.S.T. Commission and was Law instr uctor at the Metro Nashvi l le Police Dept Training Academy where he taught Cr iminal Statutor y Law , Cr iminal Procedure and Consti tutional Law. He ser ves as a leader in several professional organizations including his ser vice on the TBA's Board of Governors, Chair of the statew ide TBA Cr iminal Justice Section and TACDL.

Rob McKinney maintains a pr ivate practice in Nashvi l le, TN where he focuses mainly on cr iminal defense. He is a Li fetime Member of TACDL and has ser ved as Chair of the CLE Committee for many years.

Speaker Pr of i l esJul i e Sandine ser ved the Vanderbi l t Law School for twenty years as a Legal Wr i ting Professor and then Assistant Dean for Student Affair s and Lecturer in-Law. Dur ing her thir teen-year tenure as Assistant Dean, she created programming to enhance law student well-being and taught courses focusing on attorney well-being, professional identi ty, legal ethics, and academic success. Jul ie has exper tise in the areas of conser vator ships and advanced dir ectives and continues to r epresent cl ients through the Nashvi l le Pro Bono Program. She is cur rently the Chair of the TBA Attorney Well-Being Committee and was presented w ith one of the President?s Awards at the 2018 TBA annual convention for her advocacy of law yer mental and physical health. She ser ves as Secretar y of the Mindfulness in Law Society and is on the Advisor y Boards of Law School Transparency and the Dave Nee Foundation.

Attorney Ti l lm an W. Payne, I I I is a r eti r ed Air For ce Lt. Colonel and former Assistant Public Defender in Davidson County. He earned his law degree from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason Univer si ty in Ar l ington, VA. He has practiced law in Middle Tennessee for more than 20 years where his focus has r emained on cr iminal, per sonal injur y and family law. He is an active member of TACDL, NACDL, and the Amer ican Bar Association.

The Honor able Leon C. Bur ns, Jr . is the former cr iminal cour t judge for the Thir teenth Judicial Distr ict Cr iminal Cour t in Tennessee. He ser ved in this capaci ty for near ly 40 years from 1975 to 2014 when he reti r ed from the bench. He is a fr equent guest speaker for var ious legal organizations across Tennessee.
