ExplorersEntering 2nd-3rd Grades

These children will have days filled with exploration within a nourishing routine. There will be opportunities for crafting, art, walks, games, gardening, singing, caring for animals, story telling, and imaginative play with new friends.

Artisans Entering 4th-5th Grades

This group enjoys more complexity in their projects and daily routines. Throughout the program they are offered a variety of electives such as painting, ceramics, cooking and drama.

Trail BlazersEntering 6th-7th Grades

As our oldest students, this group will get a taste of the entire camp through leadership skills training. In addition to their own group activities, the Trail Blazers will also be asked to step in to help guide our younger students in crafts and summer fun.

Our Program Come and join us for the 2018 Summer Program to explore nature, create art, experience our working farm and create new friendships.

Experienced teachers and counselors nurture children through developmentally appropriate Waldorf influenced activities and rhythms. Children can explore our expansive campus, farm and the surrounding American River Parkway with their teachers.

Creative endeavors are offered during each session and may include painting, sculpture, building, handwork, cooking, and drama. Children will engage in games and physical activities everyday. Depending on their age group, children may experience group games, scavenger hunts, rock climbing, water play, team sports, archery, and nature walks. We welcome Sacramento Waldorf School (SWS) students and non-SWS students.

Week 1: Nature June 25-29Calling all nature lovers! If your child loves nature, this is the week for you. Come visit our beautiful campus and let nature be the inspiration behind the projects for this week. We will get our hands dirty in clay, paint, wood and the earth.

Week 2: Inspire July 2-6 (No camp July 4th)This week we will be visited by inspirational people who will help us explore what makes us feel inspired. We will help our students to feel inspired by the future and the beauty that surrounds us.

Week 3: Animals July 9-13Our Farm offers a beautiful experience for children to be hands on with animals. Crafts this week will be influenced by the animal kingdoms and some new critters will make an appearance on a special day this week.

Week 4: Movement July 16-20Although children will move their bodies each day in our program, this week they will have the opportunity to participate in new ways of moving. Examples include drama, juggling and dance. Our students will put on a mini carnival for their fellow students to experience on Friday the 20th.

Week 5: Recipes July 23-27This week, experience cooking and baking as well as recipes that may not involve food. Here we will create tie dye shirts with all of our students, a favorite activity for many each year. We promise this week is a recipe for fun for everyone.

Week 6: Community July 30 – August 3In our last week, learn about what community means. Experience community service first hand by helping to create a blanket to donate and creating our kindness wall. We’ll end our summer with a giant water slide to help celebrate the community we created throughout the summer.
