We hope that you will consider consigning quality Dorper and White Dorper rams and ewes, as well as White Dorper and Dorper-based pens of ewes to this exciting marketing venue. ENTRIES CLOSE JUNE 10 so that a complete sale catalog can be published and distributed. Entries are open to ADSBS members in good standing (dues paid for 2018) and all sheep must be registered with the ADSBS. The sale will also be online at www.dvauction.com. The facility will be ready to receive sheep on Thursday, July 26. On Friday, July 27 we will be checking in sale entries and paint-branding your lots. All consignments must be penned by 10 AM. Our show will start at 2:00 PM with Brian Faris of Texas as judge. There will be separate Dorper and White Dorper classes for registered fullblood/purebred yearling rams born between September 1, 2016 and August 31, 2017 (classes split if enough entries), Fall ram lambs (September 1-December 31 2017), Winter Ram Lambs (Jan.-Feb. 2018), Spring ram lambs (born March 1, 2018 and later), fullblood/purebred yearling ewes (split if enough entries), Fall ewe lambs, Winter ewe lambs, and Spring ewe lambs. We will also have classes for fullblood/purebred commercial Dorper and White Dorper rams (yearlings and lambs sold with registration papers) and pens of at least three commercial, or Purebred/Fullblood Dorper and White Dorper based yearling ewes, or Fall, Winter or Spring ewe lambs (at least 75% Dorper or White Dorper and ADSBS registered). Registered fullflood/purebred ewe lambs may be nominated for the ADSBS Youth Futurity. Commercial lots will be sifted and sorted for sale order. All consignments must be properly fitted (shearing about 10 days prior to the event, and washed prior to show day). There will be a Showmanship Contest for ADSBS Junior Members following the show on Friday, and a special youth breeding sheep show on Saturday morning. Youth show entries also are due June 10 to ensure we have adequate pen space. Each consignor may enter up to two rams. To enter a third ram, a consignor must enter two ewes. ADSBS will be the financial agent for the sale, and settlements with consignors will be made approximately 21 days following the sale.

Please consider consigning quality stock to this event. We believe there is strong demand for quality Dorpers and White Dorpers in this region of the country. We anticipate a great crowd. SALE GUARANTEE: Except for those stated in the below guarantee, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the sheep being sold in this sale. The warranties and guarantees set forth in the below guarantee are in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied, and the remedies provided therein shall be the sole and exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any party claiming through the buyer, for any breach of warranty or guarantee therein provided, and all obligations or liabilities.

1. Every ram and ewe sold will be guaranteed as a breeder if properly handled. It shall be the responsibility of the buyer to return the non-breeder to the seller in acceptable breeding condition. The seller, after a fair trial and the animal is found to be a non-breeder, shall have the privilege of replacing the ram or ewe with one of equal value to the satisfaction of the seller, or refunding the purchase price. This guarantee shall not apply the first year to any sheep that are shown subsequent to the date of sale. All ewe lambs are exempt from the breeding guarantee the first year.

2. Notification of non-breeder rams must be made to the seller prior to October 1st following the sale; notification of non-breeder ewes must be made to the seller prior to April 1st of the following year.

3. This guarantee shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller only, and no other parties assume any liability, legal or otherwise, expressed or implied.

4. Neither the Sale Managers nor sponsoring organizations can or will assume any responsibility as to the authenticity of the pedigrees, bloodlines, or information provided in the sale catalog, pen cards or otherwise, and the subsequent genetic performance of any sheep purchased. All such information must be accepted at face value. Any statements or information given sale day supersedes cataloged information. Any special guarantees or claims offered by individual consignors is strictly between the consignor and the buyer, and will not be enforced by the Sale Managers or the sponsoring organization.

“A Whole New Look For 2018”

JULY 27-28 – COOKEVILLE, TN Judge: Brian Faris

There will be three Showmanship classes, with ribbons awarded to all participants:

A. SENIOR – 13-21 years of age, not first year showing sheep

B. JUNIOR – 12 years of age and under, not first year showing sheep

C. NOVICE – first year showing sheep, up to 21 years of age

Breeding Sheep Classes – Separate divisions for Dorpers (D) and White Dorpers (WD)

1. Yearling Ram (born Sept. 1, 2016 to Aug. 31, 2017)

2. Fall Ram Lamb (born Sept. 1, 2017 to Dec. 31,

3. Winter Ram Lamb (born Jan. 1, 2018 to Feb. 28, 2018)

SHOW RULES

1. All exhibitors must be ADSBS individual members in good standing (2018 dues paid).

2. All sheep shown must be ADSBS registered in the name of the youth member (not family, farm or ranch).

3. There is no minimum age for exhibitors, but the youth exhibitor must show their animal by controlling the

head. Another youth exhibitor may assist as heeler to set hind legs.

4. All animals must be properly washed and sheared.

5. Sheep may be shown with or without halters in all classes.

6. Entry fee is $3.00 per head. No entry fee for Showmanship and Best Pair classes.

7. Youth Show sheep should arrive and be penned no later than Friday at 10 AM, and must be checked in by

Noon Friday. Show will begin at 8:00 AM Saturday. Showmanship classes will be held Friday evening

following the open show. All sheep must be removed from the barn by 10 AM Sunday.

8. All sheep brought to the Hyder-Burks Agricultural Center must be listed on a proper Interstate Health

Certificate, and must carry USDA scrapie identification tags.

9. Breeding Sheep Premiums: 1st: $25, 2nd: $20, 3rd: $15, 4th: $10, 5th: $10, 6th: $10.

SPECIAL NEW FEATURE! YOUTH EWE SALE! New this year, the ADSBS invites youth members in good standing to sell one ewe in the sale at Cookeville. Each

exhibitor may nominate one ewe lamb or yearling ewe to sell in the Youth Ewe Sale, which will be held at the start

of the 2018 Sale on July 28 at 1 PM. Our judge will evaluate all nominated ewes to ensure only quality ewes sell.

Ewe lambs must be registered in the name of the youth exhibitor, and that exhibitor must also own the dam.

Yearling ewes (born Sept. 1, 2016 to Aug. 31, 2017) purchased by the youth exhibitor at the 2017 Mid-America or

Southern States Sales may be nominated to sell in the Youth Ewe Sale. A maximum of 5% sale commission will be

charged on youth ewes. You will nominate your ewe Saturday morning.
