2018 Pan Am Open General Information

Kyorugi Competition

General Provisions WT G1 Open Sanctioned Tournament for all WT MNAs

Eligibility 1. Holder of the nationality of the participating team.

2. Holder of the WTF Global Athlete License (GAL) 2018.

3. Holder of Dan recognized by WT, PATU, PATU MNA, or Kukkiwon.

Ages and Divisions 1. Youth Black Belts 6~7, 8~9, 10~11 years 2. Cadets 12-14 years 3. Junior 15-17 years 4. Senior +17 years 5. Color Belts All ages & gender (Yellow, Green, Blue, Red)

Rules for competition The latest WT Kyorugi Competition Rules will apply for this event.

Modified safety Rules will apply to all youth black belts and color belts

Competition System Single elimination tournament system. The loser of the final will be 2nd place. Losers to semifinals will be declared 3rd place. Competition Categories Senior Competition 8 male and 8 female weight divisions

Junior Competition 10 male and 10 female weight divisions Cadet Competition 10 male and 10 female weight divisions Youth & Color Belts Modified weight divisions to ensure safety

Kyorugi Contest time Senior Kyorugi: Three (3) rounds of Two (2) minute competitions with 1 minute rest period between each rounds. Junior Kyorugi: Three (3) rounds of one and a half (1.5) minute competitions with 1 minute rest period between rounds. Cadet Kyorugi: Three (3) rounds of one and a half (1.5) minute competitions with 1 minute rest period between rounds. Youth Black Belts: Two rounds of one and a half (1.5) minute competitions with 1 minute rest period between rounds. Color Belt Kyorugi: Two rounds of one and a half (1.5) minute competitions with 1 minute rest period between rounds.

**Contest time, divisions may be adjusted by the PATU tournament committee if necessary.

Coaches Qualification Coaches minimum qualification requirements are; All coaches must be at least 18 years of age. All Coaches / Trainers must be holders of 2018 WT Coach

Permit (granted by participation in a WT Coach Permit Seminar). Coaches/Trainers that do not have valid 2018 WT Coach Permit shall pay a $200.00 (USD) fine at the registration desk. Poomsae and Kyorugi separately.

2018 WT Coach Permit Seminar will be held on July 11th at Davenport Hotel, Poomsae and Kyorugi separately.

Coach Accreditation Fee Poomsae Coach Accreditation: USD$150.00 Kyorugi Coach Accreditation: USD$150.00 Late Fees (After June 29, 2018): USD$200.00 Coaches Dress Code During all the competition all coaches are obliged to wear a

formal suit. Coaches that do not follow the dress code cannot be entered into the field of play during finals and semifinals.

Sport entry Competitors entries will be accepted through the WT online registration system at; https://worldtkd.simplycompete.com/ and registration is only possible with a valid WT Global License.

All Teams, Athletes, Coaches must complete their registration through WT GMS On-line registration system.

Protector & Scoring System The Organizing Committee will provide DAEDO GEN 2 trunk protectors and DAEDO GEN 2 E-Headgears for Kyorugi Competitions. Each athlete must bring his/her own DAEDO sensor socks.

WT/PATU approved KP&P Poomsae Scoring system will be used for all Poomsae competitions.

All Children under 12 years old Black Belt and Color Belts

will compete with owned Non-electronic generic chest protectors and headgears. Must use chest protector color appropriate Blue or Red Headgears.

Recognized brands Participating contestants are required to wear WT recognized Doboks and WT-recognized protective equipment. The latest version of WT-recognized

manufacturers’ list is available at the website of WT:

Anti-doping regulations The latest WT Anti-Doping Rules shall apply to 2018 Pan Am Senior TKD Championships via random test

format approved by WT & WADA.

Indemnities It is the responsibility of each Member National Association to ensure that their athletes and team officials have filled out the indemnification forms correctly and have duly signed by them, thereby indemnifying WT, PATU, Spokane Convention Center, the Organizing Committee and all other officials and athletes from any claims of injuries, losses or otherwise arising in the course of participation at the PATU official tournaments or any activities linked therewith.

It is the responsibility of each Member National Association

to ensure and guarantee that sufficient insurance coverage has been arranged for all athletes, team officials and other participants. Without sufficient insurance coverage, national teams will not be allowed to compete. Please fill out the Personal Indemnity Forms and return them to the Organization Committee before June 29, 2018. Each participant (athletes, team officials, etc.) MUST fill out the indemnification form.

Technical Meeting 2018 Pan Am Open Technical meeting & Draw of lots shall

be carried out by PATU technical officials on Thursday, July 12 at 18:00 hrs. at Davenport Grand Hotel.

Seeding & Draw of Lots 25% of athletes will be seeded according to the latest WT

athlete ranking as of June 31st, 2018. The draw sheets and brackets will be available one (1) day before the start of the competition of the respective weight category.

Weigh-in The official weigh-in of the athletes shall take place one (1)

day prior to the competition day of respective weight category. The official weigh-in shall be done by international referees appointed by the PATU referee committee.

Each athlete shall have one (1) attempt to pass the weigh in. However, one (1) extra attempt is allowed for those athletes who did not qualify at the first time. This extra attempt shall be done within the time limit of the official weigh-in. No Random weigh-in on the competition day will be performed at this event.

Transportation Round trip airfares of the teams shall be borne by the

participating Member National Associations.

All participating teams, officials, international referees and athletes are responsible for their own local transportation.

Airport shuttle service is available ONLY for participants staying at the event HQ Hotel, Davenport Grand Hotel.

Accommodation All participating teams and athletes are required to stay at the event headquarter Hotel, Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane where all pre-competition events, seminars, and official meetings will be held.

Davenport Hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Spokane Convention Center.

No local transportation or rental cars are necessary for all participants staying at the HQ Hotel where below season special discounted rates are offered for the PATU event.

Visa The Organizing Committee can provide invitation letters for visa applications. However, MNA’s are required to check the U.S. entry visa application waiting times in their own countries and submit requests for invitation letters to the Organizing Committee at protocolo@4pro.mx if necessary. The Organizing Committee cannot guarantee entry into the U.S. and can only offer assistance. It is the responsibility of each athlete and MNA to apply in time and secure correct entry visas to enter the U.S.A.
