A Note of Gratitude from Our StaffIt is an honor to present to you the 2018 Impact Report. Working at LIVESTRONG, I get to see the positive impact that your investment in our mission makes in the lives of people affected by cancer.
I lost my grandfather to a brain tumor and a few years later, my grandma, Janet, was diagnosed. She embodied LIVESTRONG both times she fought cancer. My grandma was very inf luential to me and a lot of my optimism, joy of life, positivity and compassion comes from her. I am proud to work at LIVESTRONG in honor of my grandparents and see the impact that our vital work has on thousands of survivors and their loved ones.
With cancer survivorship expected to increase more than 35% over the next decade, the need for LIVESTRONG is greater now than ever. Together, we can and will change the way the world fights cancer.
With gratitude,
Joel Karabach Sr. Accountant
2018 LIVESTRONG Impact Report
Our Mission
We improve the lives of people affected by cancer, now.
At LIVESTRONG, we fight for the more than 32.6 million people around the world affected by cancer now. There can be—and should be—life after cancer. We take aim at the gaps in cancer care so living with cancer is not harder than it needs to be.
This is LIVESTRONG.
346,000 Cancer Resources Accessed on LIVESTRONG.orgLIVESTRONG continues to create and provide helpful cancer resources that can be accessed online at LIVESTRONG.org. We also served more than 3,500 cancer survivors and caregivers in 2018 through personalized, one-on-one navigation and fertility services. We supported survivors and caregivers with insurance assistance, clinical trial matching, debt relief, emotional support, and fertility preservation.
If you or anyone you know has been affected by cancer, email us at [email protected]

2018 Year in Review—Serving Communities
The LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes Began Receiving Patients in DecemberEstablished in 2014, the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is about doing things differently; reinventing, revolutionizing and radically changing cancer care. New models of care are being developed for cancer prevention, detection, treatment, survivorship and research that put survivors’ needs above all else. This innovative model puts patients at the center of their care and will serve as an incubator to be replicated across the country and around the world.
