It is always an exciting time of the year when breeders across the Southeast and East converge on Jackson, Mississippi. The enthusiasm and cooperation between breeders and breeds is high with the excitement and participation is at an all time high especially after the Mississippi Association along with juniors and adult breeders hosting one of the best Junior Nationals in the South. They showed their great hospitality to everyone in attendance and again are to be commended on a great event.

The year’s sale is sponsored by the Mississippi Simmental/Simbrah Association with the cooperation of the Angus and Red Angus breeds. The Angus and Red Angus consignors have really stepped up their consignments will some top lots and our Simmental consignors have done great as well. We welcome several new consignors to the sale. The pedigrees and quality are strong and you defiantly as a buyer have a lot of choose from at the sale. We have top notch show prospects, bred heifers and bulls ready to go to work, as well as some of the breeds best genetic lots. The Angus and Red Angus lots are the best ever at the Dixie sale. I encourage you to call some of those consignors prior to the sale and look them up sale week. As you review the catalog, several lots and genetics are from past champions at the Dixie National show.

It is a great year to be involved with the Mississippi Simmental-Simbrah Association as they are coming off of hosting the Jr Nationals however they are ready to tackle some else and continue with the promotion of the Simmental and Simbrah genetics plus the juniors and the whole program. The Dixie National still continues to be one of the shows people love to attend year after to year. Remember this year all the sale cattle are entered in the open show. This is a great place to select your next show prospect to show in Mississippi or the Regionals or even the AJSA Nationals in Minnesota. Don’t forget the Red Angus and Angus can compete as well so don’t the forget, we here at DP Sales appreciate the continued involvement of these breeds.

The American Simmental-Simbrah Foundation, commissioned Benchmark Custom Buckles & Western Jewelry, to design and hand-make 50 custom belt buckles to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the American Simmental Association in 2018. The 50 buckles will be hand crafted individually and numbered 1 through 50, with no other buckles being made to honor this great event. The ASA Foundation will sell 5 of the buckles during the Foundation auction, giving each buyer the opportunity to select the numbered buckle of their choice. The remaining 45 buckles will be sold at different events throughout 2018. Be a part of the history of ASA and help support the Foundation.
