Welcome from the Conference Chairman

On behalf of the 2018 ASID team, it is my great pleasure to extend you a warm

welcome to the pleasant coastal city Xiamen for the 2018 International Conference on

Anti-counterfeiting, Security, and Identification.

This conference is the 12th one of the series of International Conference on Anti-

counterfeiting, Security, and Identification(ASID). Within the eleven years of time, the

ASID conference has evolved into a unique forum for researchers from academia and

industry to exchange innovative ideas and share their findings in the frontiers of diverse

areas on information science. There were overwhelming responses to this conference

and more than 80 papers submitted over the world. At last, 55 papers were accepted to

be presented at the two-day conference and listed in the proceedings. All these papers

are grouped into the sessions as: Deep Learning and Recognition Computing,Big Data

and Information Security,Cloud Computing & Internet of Things (IoT),Cryptographic

Algorithm and Security Management,IC Design and System Integration,Wearable

Electronics and Health & Leisure.

It is our great pleasure to invited Prof. Zhiping Yu, Prof. Tianrui Li and Prof.

Chunxiao Xing to be our keynote speakers. Prof. Zhiping Yu is a professor with the

Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University. Prof. Tianrui Li is the director of

the Key Lab of Cloud Computing and Intelligent Technique of Sichuan Province,

Southwest Jiaotong University. Prof. Chunxiao Xing is an associate dean of

Information Technology Research Institute (RIIT), Tsinghua University, and director

of Web and Software R&D Center (WeST).

This conference is sponsored by Xiamen Institute of Electronics and Institute of

Modern Circuit & System Technology and co-sponsored by IEEE Beijing Section,

Xiamen University and Xiamen University of Technology. This conference is also co-

organized by IC Design Center of Fujian Province and Key Laboratory of IC Design

& Application Development (Xiamen University). All accepted papers are available at

IEEE Xplore.

The city of Xiamen is famous for its beautiful scenery and the beach of Taiwan

Strait. We wish that you will benefit from the technical programs and social events of

2018 ASID, as well as from your personal exploration of this coastal garden.

Prof. Zhiping Yu

IEEE Life Fellow

Professor of the Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University, Beijing,

China

Title:

RF/mmW CMOS Circuits for 5G Wireless Communication

Abstract: Among prominent features of 5G cellular mobile communications are 1) higher data rate (as high as 20Gbps); 2)

massive device connectivity (106/km2); 3) less latency (1ms). One of the enablers is the allocation for the so-

called New Radio (NR): the carrier frequency is roughly in two ranges: sub-6GHz with bandwidth 100MHz and

mmW of 24-86GHz with bandwidth 400MHz.

This talk will use the design cases experienced in the speakers’ Tsinghua group to address the design issues of

CMOS circuits used in 5G communications, mainly broadband (up to 6GHz) LNAs and 60GHz transceivers. To

bridge the gap between 28GHz and 39GHz, which are two frequencies designated for the wireless data transfer

between base stations, a single PLL design with two VCOs is discussed.

Recent work on the phased-array transmitter using 28nm CMOS technology is finally briefed, which is at the core

circuitry for massive MIMO technology.

Biography:

Prof. Zhiping Yu graduated from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1967 with B.S. degree, he received M.S.

and Ph. D. degrees from Stanford University, CA, USA, in 1980, and 1985, respectively.

He is presently professor in the Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and an IEEE Life

Fellow. From 2008 to 2015 he is also a visiting professor in EE Dept. at Stanford University, and between 2006 and

2012 as the Novellus Microelectronics Professor in Tsinghua. He has been the project leader for several national

research programs on micro- and nano-electronics in China, including 973 and NSF major projects, and back in

1993 won “China’s First-Class National Science & Technology Progress Award” for his critical role in

developing Panda Design System, a first EDA software in China. His research interests include nano-scaled CMOS

and nanoelectronics, circuit design in RF CMOS, and semiconductor device compact modeling and simulation.

Dr. Yu has published more than 400 technical papers and is the co-author of a book on TCAD (Technology CAD)

in English. A co-authored book on RF CMOS circuit design (in Chinese) was published by Tsinghua University

Press in 2006.

Dr. Yu has served as the Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. CAD of IC & Systems (ICCAD) from 1996 to 2005. He was

also once a member in IEEE EDS Nanotechnology Committee, and Semiconductor-Manufacturing Committee,

respectively.

Title:

Data-Driven Intelligence: Challenges and our Solutions

Abstract: Data-Driven Intelligence has become a hot research topic in the area of information science. This talk aims to

outline the challengues on Data-Driven Intelligence. Then our solutions for Data-Driven Intelligence are provided,

which cover the following aspects. 1) A hierarchical entropy-based approach is demonstrated to evaluate the

effectiveness of data collection, the first step of Data-Driven Intelligence. 2) A multi-view-based method is

illustrated for filling missing data, the preprocessing step for Data-Driven Intelligence. 3) A unified framework is

outlined for Parallel Large-scale Feature Selection to manage Big Data with high dimension. 4) A MapReduce-

based parallel method together with three parallel strategies are presented to compute rough set approximations

for classification, which is a fundamental part in rough set-based data analysis similar to frequent pattern mining

in association rules. 5) Incremental learning-based approaches are shown for updating approximations and

knowledge in dynamic data environments, e.g., the variation of objects, attributes or attribute values, which

improve the computational efficiency by using previously acquired learning results to facilitate knowledge

maintenance without re-implementing the original data mining algorithm. 6) A deep-learning-based model to

deal with multiple different sources of data is developed.
