Welcome Remarks On behalf of IEDRC, we welcome you to University of Macau to attend 2018 4th International Conference on

Industrial and Business Engineering (ICIBE 2018) and 2018 9th International Conference on Construction and

Project Management (ICCPM 2018). We’re confident that over the three days you’ll get theoretical grounding,

practical knowledge, and personal contacts that will help you build long-term, profitable and sustainable

communication among researchers and practitioners working in a wide variety of scientific areas with a

common interest in Industrial, Business Engineering, Construction and Project Management.

The conferences received submissions from more than 10 different countries and regions, which were reviewed

by international experts, and about 60% papers have been selected for presentation and publication.

We hope that your work and that of your institution or company will be enhanced both by what you learn and

by those with whom you connect over the next 3 days. Our field is enriched by the dialogue among colleagues

from around the world which occurs during presentation sessions as well as informal conversations. We hope

this is a memorable, valuable, and enjoyable experience!

On behalf of conference chair and all the conference committee, we would like to thank all the authors as well as

the Program Committee members and reviewers. Their high competence, their enthusiasm, their time and

Conference Venue

University of Macau, China(Hengqin Campus)

Several state leaders have visited the University of Macau (UM), including President Xi Jinping, who

visited UM in 2014 and talked to students in one of the residential colleges; the former president Hu

Jintao, who officiated at the new campus groundbreaking ceremony in 2009; and the former vice

premier of the State Council Wang Yang, who officiated at the new campus inauguration ceremony in

2013. The UM campus is located in the east of Hengqin Island, Guangdong province, on a piece of land

leased to the Macao SAR government, but is under the jurisdiction of the Macao SAR, an innovative

implementation of the „One Country, Two Systems‟ policy. It reflects the great support of the central and

Macao SAR governments for higher education development in Macao.

The campus is separated from Taipa by a river, with the lush Hengqin Hill serving as a beautiful

backdrop. It covers 1.09 km2, with a gross floor area of 820,000m2 and more than 60 buildings. Faculty,

students, and Macao residents can enter and exit the campus conveniently through the underwater

tunnel.

The campus was designed by He Jingtang, a world-class architect and member of the Chinese Academy

of Engineering. He was committed to creating a campus that is people-oriented, sustainable, modern,

digitalised, comfortable, and energy-efficient, with a garden-style layout and a mixture of elements of

Chinese and Western cultures.

The eight faculties are located along the central axis of the campus, with the buildings of different

faculties connected through corridors, to facilitate inter-disciplinary activities and teacher-student

interaction. UM has Asia‟s largest residential college system, comprised of ten colleges.

Keynote Speaker

Prof. Luiz Moutinho

University of Suffolk, England

Professor Luiz Moutinho (BA, MA, PhD, FCIM) is Visiting Professor of Marketing at Suffolk Business School,

Faculty of Arts, Business and Applied Social Science, University of Suffolk, Ipswich, England, Adjunct Professor

of Marketing at Graduate School of Business, University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji, and Visiting Professor of

Marketing at Universidade Europeia and the Marketing School, Portugal.

During 2015 - 2017 he was professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at the DCU Business School, Dublin

City University, Ireland. This was the first Chair in the world on both domains - BioMarketing and Futures

Research. Previously, and for 20 years, he had been appointed as the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the Adam

Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, Scotland. In 2017 Luiz Moutinho received a degree of Professor

Honoris Causa from the University of Tourism and Management Skopje, FYR of Macedonia.

He completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield in 1982. He has been a Full Professor for 29 years and held

posts at Cardiff Business School, University of Wales College of Cardiff, Cleveland State University, Ohio, USA,

Northern Arizona University, USA and California State University, USA. He has held Visiting Professorship

positions at numerous universities in China, Lithuania, Austria, New Zealand, Denmark, Slovenia, Portugal,

Hungary, Taiwan, Brazil, Colombia and Cyprus.

Between 1987 and 1989 he was the Director of the Doctoral Programmes at the Confederation of Scottish

Business Schools and at the Cardiff Business School between 1993 and 1996. He was Director of the Doctoral

Programme in Management at the University of Glasgow between 1996 and 2004.

Professor Moutinho is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Modelling in Management (JM2) and

co-editor of the Innovative Marketing Journal. He has another 4 Associate Editorships as well as being in the

Editorial Boards of another 47 international academic journals.

His areas of research interest encompass bio-marketing, neuroscience in marketing, EmoWear - a wearable tech

device that detects human emotions, evolutionary algorithms, human-computer interaction, the use of artificial

neural networks in marketing, modelling consumer behaviour, futures research, marketing futurecast and tourism

and marketing. Other primary areas of Professor Moutinho‟s academic research are related to modelling processes

of consumer behaviour. Currently, he is Program Designer and Faculty Member at Neuroscience Ltd.

(Neuroscience - Academic and Business Solutions).

He has developed a number of conceptual models over the years in areas such as tourism destination decision

processes, automated banking, supermarket patronage, among other areas. The testing of these research models

has been based on the application of many different statistical, computer and mathematical modelling techniques

ranging from multidimensional scaling, multinomial logit generalised linear models (GLMs) and linear structural

relations to neural networks, ordered probit, simulated annealing, tabu search, genetic algorithms, memetic

algorithms and fuzzy logic.

Professor Moutinho has over 150 articles published in refereed academic journals, 32 books and more than 10,800

academic citations, a h-index of 49 and an i10-index of 156 (by the end of 2017).

Speech Ttitle: THE PERSISTENT RISE OF MACHINES ... from AI Avalanche, Heuristics Sensors, Transparent

and Social Algorithms, Dynamic Memory Networks and the Conscious Computer … to Bio-Electronics and

Robotics, Intelligent Pills, Tactile Internet and the Internet of Humans...

Abstract: This speech begins with brief listing the unstoppable technology trends that defines our world in 2018

and onward - the world in which we are more and more in virtual and augmented reality, in which the growth in

the intelligence and capabilities of machines presents both a treat and opportunity. The talk highlights an

incredible and challenging near future with the avalanche of AI - artificial intelligence and robotics are becoming

the new normal! The future sense of social networks/media in the world with over trillion smart sensors, where

everyone and everything are connected will also be explored, as well as the social implications of IoT, big data,

M2M, AI... In continuation, many issues about big data are presented in more details, especially those relating to

data marketplaces, bio-electronics – body data, open data and smart cities, their meaning for education, data

humanizing... Towards the end, some ideas about the need and understanding of transformation from IoT to the

Internet of Humans are presented.

Prof. Tozaki hajime

Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan

Born in 1963. Professor, Tokyo Metropolitan University. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Kyoto

University. In the same year, I joined Japan Airlines. I have experienced airport operations, sales operations,

economics training etc. At the end of 1994, leaving the company to concentrate on research. After worked at

Teikyo University, Meiji University, Waseda University etc, I started my current position in 2017. Doctor of

economics. Specialty is transportation policy, tourism policy.

Speech Title: Issues of Japan aiming for a tourism powerhouse

Abstract: Olympic games will be held in Tokyo in 2020. With that as a big chance, Japan is trying to introduce

various regulatory reforms and new policies. The Japanese government has also set some concrete goals for

inbound travelers, but in reality it is difficult to realize. In this talk I would like to discuss what Japan is seeking

for tourism policy and what is wrong with such initiatives.

Prof. Lonny Simonian

California Polytechnic State University, USA

Lonny Simonian has over 25 years of professional experience in the electrical design and construction industry

and has worked on several multibillion USD federally funded domestic projects, as well as numerous public and

privately funded projects around the world. This has including extensive experience in project & construction

management, project controls and administration, and design and construction engineering on several US

government advanced technology projects. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering degree from University

of California, Berkeley with an emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management, a Bachelor‟s degree in

Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), and an Advanced Project

Management Certificate from Stanford.

Professor Simonian‟s current appointment is as a Professor in the College of Architecture and Environmental

Design (CAED) and graduate course instructor in the College of Engineering at Cal Poly. Professor Simonian is a

licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California and a Project Management Institute certified

Project Management Professional. Professor Simonian‟s previous experience includes positions as an Engineering

Group Supervisor at Bechtel National and Senior Project Manager for Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. His Cal

Poly courses have included Building Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Systems, Construction Contracts,

Construction Project Administration, Principles of Construction Management, Project Controls, Management of

the Construction Firm, Professional Practice for Construction Project Managers, and Integrated Project Delivery.

Professor Simonian was a past recipient of a NSF/DOE fellowship, conducting Smart Grid research at UC

Berkeley Lab on Energy Information System Dashboard Integrating Wireless Sensing Devices with Wired

Metering and Controls. He is the principal or corresponding author of over three dozen peer-reviewed papers.

Speech Title: Using Game-Based Learning and Simulations to Enhance Construction Engineering and

Management Education

Abstract: Simulations and learning games use technology to allow participants to experience tasks and see the

results of their decisions. Frequently, they are designed to meet specific learning goals, i.e. from sharing case

studies to demonstrating very complex situations. In the construction industry, many new employees do not have

the training or coursework to provide access to such simulations. While games are not new to higher education,

their use most often has been limited to a very narrow vein because of their complexity and the amount of

development time required to produce them. Most games have not been robust enough to engage construction

participants. Managing construction involves being able to make decisions to balance time, cost, quality, resources,

and identifying and solving a variety of issues. The skills required of today‟s construction management personnel

are a combination of management skills and technical knowledge. This presentation describes the Construction

Industry Simulation (COINS) game, designed to prepare construction engineering and management personnel for

the real world.

Assoc. Prof. Jingzhi Guo

University of Macau, China

Dr. Jingzhi Guo is an associate professor of e-commerce technology at University of Macau, Macao. He received

his PhD in Internet computing and e-commerce in 2005 at Griffith University, Australia, MSc in computation at

University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, and bachelor of economics at University of

International Business and Economics, China. Prior to his PhD research, he had more than 12 years of working

experiences in international trade, business management, production management, and software development in

the positions of sales manager, marketing manager, managing director, software developer, and chief technology

officer. His current research interests are focused on semantic integration, virtual world and e-commerce

technology for e-business engineering and next generation e-commerce platform.

Speech Title: Virtual Commerce: A Future Form of E-Commerce in Virtual Worlds

Abstract: After 40 years of development in electronic commerce, the future of e-commerce is featuring immersive,

social, narrative and persistent. Such changing features have characterized a new possible form of electronic

commerce, which could be called as Virtual Commerce (V-Commerce). Virtual Commerce will live in a

newly-developed virtual world, which is supported by the fast-growing technologies of mobile device, Internet of

Things, peer-to-peer network, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. In this talk, virtual commerce will be

defined and how virtual commerce could possibly be developed will also be discussed.

Assoc. Prof. Seon-Phil Sunny Jeong

Bnu-Hkbu United International College, China

Currently Dr. Seon-phil Sunny Jeong is associate professor in computer science and technology programme at

BNU-HKBU United International College in Zhuhai China. He had served at Cheong-Ju e-learning and Digital

Industry Foundation in Korea as a researcher before joining UIC He also has experience in e-business IS projects;

ERP projects and SCM projects for various types of SME companies. His current academic interests include

e-business technology, Computer ethics, IoT, and business intelligence. He received Ph.D degree in Management

Information Systems(MIS) from Chungbuk National University(CBNU) in 2007. He is a member of Association

of Information Systems (AIS).

Speech Title: A Case Study: A Smart City with an IoT Incoming Panel Monitoring System

Abstract: A smart city increases administrative efficiency and citizen‟s welfare by using information and

communication technologies. Recently, many cities have been conducting various types of smart city projects.

This case study presents a hardware and software platform for a remote Incoming Panel Monitoring System. It is a

system that quickly detects and monitors the main fault indications of the incoming panel in real time such as

temperature rise (deterioration) of the power distribution equipment, waterlogging and physical intrusion. The

system consists of following core functions; 1) Transmission of real-time IoT sensing data and cloud

accumulation 2) Detection of abnormal signals and analysis of accumulated data 3) Real-time monitoring system

using smart phone and integrated control system. Presently we have been accumulating data from the 13 incoming

panel sites and will build up a smart maintain and pre-alert system based on the data.

Abstract: Cashless payment such as by scanning of QR code is quickly becoming an integrated part of

our life. Its omnipresence arouses a concern among people. As mobile payment gains greater

popularity, its users carry less cash. People enjoy the convenience this brings, but also react differently

when cash payment is rejected.

In view of this phenomenon, i.e. the reduced amount of cash users carry, and the direct consequence of

it-the weakened ability of cash as a means in trading, this paper discusses the possibility that this type

of payment method invokes a sense of wellness in modern people. Focusing on Alipay, this study

analyzes if its cashless payment function indeed brings happiness to users. Intensity of use, usage

motivation, and trust are adopted to analyze and investigate the subjective well-being of users of the

cashless payment method of Alipay.

In this study, data path analysis is performed on the samples retrieved. The following conclusions are

drawn: in the process of using Alipay, recognition as the usage motivation is positively related to the

intensity of use, and vice versa; the intensity of use has a significant positive impact on trust; the trust

on Alipay has a positive effect on users‟ subjective well-being.

Is There a Laffer Curve in China‟s Government Tax Revenues Based on the Threshold Model?

Abstract: Considering the impact of the GDP, investment, and other factors, this study investigates the

relationship between tax revenue and macro tax rates using the Laffer curve, adopting the threshold

model for economic analysis. It was found that there is not a complete Laffer curve in China.

Improving enterprise profits would effectively reduce the negative effects of rising rates on tax

revenues. Considering China‟s current economic development, raising taxes is not desirable; the

serious fiscal deficit rate does not permit massive tax cuts, and this does not conform to the theoretical

results. Therefore, it would be suitable to make structural adjustments to government tax revenues.

Analysis of Product Personality and Purchase Intention of Society to Indonesia Original Products. Case

Abstract: Batik, as one of Indonesia‟s original product, is currently experiencing rapid growth in the

fashion industry. This can be seen from the emergence of various kinds of fashion products made from

batik cloth. In this study, the types of batik cloth will be divided according to the manufacturing

process which are stamped batik, hand-drawn batik, and painted batik. This selection aims to provide a

more detail description for the concept of product personality for each batik cloth.

Product personality is a set of personality traits used by people to describe a product to distinguish it

from other products. Based on the results of data processing, these three types of batik cloth turned out

to bring different personality values. Stamped batik with its simplicity, hand-drawn batik with modesty,

and painted batik with optimistic value.

This study also wanted to see the relationship between product personality and purchase intention to

prove whether this concept will affect the level of batik sales. The result proved that the value of

product personality affects the purchase intention of a person against stamped batik and hand-drawn

batik. As for painted batik, product personality has no direct effect. In addition, product personality also

affects subjective norms (opinions of people around the prospective buyer) directly in bringing the

purchase intention to the types of batik.

Predictors of Abusive Supervision: Organizational Identification and The Role of Individual Difference

Abstract: In this study, the authors examine the relationship between organizational identification and

abusive supervision. The authors predict organizational identification will be related to abusive

supervision. Additionally, the authors examine the moderating effects of individual difference(gender).

The sample is collected from employees who are currently employed and work under their own

supervisor. collected from 333 supervised employees (Mainland China:150, Taiwan:183) suggested

that organizational identification was positively related to abusive supervision when organizational

identification was low. However, Regardless of gender, when employees have a high degree of

organizational identity, They will accommodate the behavior of the supervisor, so they won‟t

perception of the existence of abusive supervision. The research result will help CEO to strengthen

employees‟ organizational identification in order to reduce turnover rate; at the same time, to remind

leaders to pay attention to their words and deeds and self-discipline. This will influence leaders‟

management performance and reduce organizational performance

Association among Corporate Culture, Talent Training and Development, and Corporate Operational

Performance

Abstract: The objective of this study was to examine the association among the corporate culture,

talent training and development (T&D), and corporate operational performance of small- and

medium-sized companies by using a questionnaire survey. The results showed that a desire for

innovative learning was a key emphasis in corporate culture, work attitude was key for talent T&D, and

customer satisfaction was key for operational performance. Moreover, a significantly positive

correlation was found between corporate culture and talent T&D, between corporate culture and

corporate operational performance, and between talent T&D and corporate operational performance. Corporate culture differed significantly depending on a company‟s sector, total capital, and age. Talent

T&D differed significantly depending on company age and the average age of the employees.

Corporate operational performance differed significantly depending on a company‟s total capital and

the average age of its employees. Lastly, corporate culture had a significantly positive effect on talent

Optimal Pricing for Flash Sale Considering Stock Value and Amount of Unique Visitors

Abstract: In recent years, the online retail industry developed much quickly. Flash sale is the most

important part of online retailing, it gradually attracts attention of both industry and academia. Flash

sale is a new business model that offers discounted products in limited numbers over a short period. In

flash sale, shopping behavior does not necessarily follow the consumption behavior in traditional retail

environment. With real sales data from an e-commerce company with flash sales, this study shows that

the sales of an item is simultaneously affected by the stock value of the item, amount of unique visitors

of the item, and the pricing of the item (in terms of discount). A mathematical model is established to

optimize the discount level of items. With the established mathematical model, the optimal discount of

an item is determined with consideration of both the stock value of the item and the amount of unique

visitors of the item. With the optimal pricing, the sales profit is maximized.

The Relationship between Product Life Cycles and Sales Personals‟ Job Stress

Abstract: In the modern world, there are so many different products in this rapidly changing era, and

also a need to promote the sales personals ability to sell products. That is why many people in the

workplace are experiencing more pressure from their jobs.

While sales personals are selling products, the life cycles of the products they are tasked with selling

will also increase the pressure they experience. In previous research, we explored job stress and

product life cycles; however, it seems that there is no existing research on the link between product life

cycles and sales personals.

Currently, job stress is not only a proper noun but also exists in work environments. Therefore, this

research wants to clarify the relationship between product life cycles and the job stress of sales

personals. We investigated this relationship by distributing paper and Internet questionnaires. Our

targets focused on SME sales personals. We distributed a total of 400 paper and Internet questionnaires,

but only 313 were returned. The research will be hypothesized to use the single factor analysis of

variance (One-Way ANOVA), followed by Post Hoc Multiple Comparisons, two sample tests, and

validation.

During the research, the results showed that when a product produces little to no job stress, the product

life cycle was relatively low. When a product has a life cycle that is divided into the introduction stage

and the mature stage, the accompanying job stress is higher than that found in the growth and decline

stages. The results will lead to recommended management practices and recommendations for future

research.

Abstract: With the development of the times, the advertising industry has developed at a rapid speed

and consumers receive thousands of advertisements every day. The term advertising endorser is

gradually becoming more and more familiar to the general public. In order to make themselves stand

out in the thousands of advertisements, many advertising companies began to seek new advertising methods. Hiring an opposite-sex endorser is one of them. Since Kimura Takuya endorsed a lipstick

brand in 1995, there has been quite a number of cases of opposite-sex endorsement that grew at a slow

and steady rate. In 2013, Wang Dongchen, a former member of the Taiwanese boy group Fahrenheit,

endorsed a sanitary napkin brand, which cause such a sensation and opened a new chapter in the

that gender conflict between endorser and product did not affect the effectiveness of advertising, but

consumers of different genders presented different attitudes towards endorsers of conflicting genders.

Abstract: The paper describes the tax planning in fundraising activities. The normal operation of

each enterprise cannot be separated from the funds; financing activities are an important part of the

next series of economic activities. Financing not only needs to raise enough funds, but also to minimize

the cost of capital. In the different financing plan, the amount of the tax is different, tax factors affect

the merits of the scheme, and financing costs will affect the cost of production and operation of

enterprises, which will affect the competitive power of enterprises. Therefore, when enterprises are

raising money, if we can adopt the best financing plan with financing skills, you can minimize tax and

save benefits, which will provide a reliable guarantee for the production of capital management

strategy of the enterprise and improve the implementation of the sustainable competitiveness of

enterprises. Therefore, this article discusses the tax issue in the selection of financing options in

enterprises. The thesis uses comparative analysis method and case analysis method. In the process of

financing, enterprises should keep in mind the business management objectives of maximizing

corporate value, determine the ratio of debt capital to equity capital, and select the appropriate

financing method according to the characteristics of the enterprise.

Abstract: The opportunity in the application of halal supply chain is considered to rise sharply in the

future. Halal market is predicted to reach US$ 2,537 billion in 2019 globally. Meanwhile, Indonesia as

a country with the largest islamic population in the world certainly does not want to lose momentum in

maximizing this chance. For instance, Indonesian government has initiated infrastructure development

and policy. Halal supply chain has become a critical aspect regarding this development of halal

industry especially in the food sector. As the demand requirement evolving, many companies consider

to outsource their logistic function with third-party logistic (3PL) company. However, research that

leads to the sustainable application of halal supply chain in 3PL industry is still needed. Therefore, this

study aims to reveal the economic and environmental perspectives from halal supply chain in 3PL

industry. System dynamic approach is used because it gives better understanding of the whole system

which change its behaviour over time. Moreover, this approach also addresses possible policy scenario

for Indonesia (new market penetration in middle-east). The result shows that halal supply chain gives

positive impact economically and effects the environment unsignificantly. Meanwhile, finding on new

market penetration policy magnify the economic aspect.

Abstract: Autonomous control methods (ACMs) are a promising approach to cope with the increasing

complexity and dynamics of the business environment. In this context, sequencing flexibility provides

great potential to increase the logistic performance of these methods. To optimally utilize this potential

in production management, a quantification is required. However, the existing approaches to quantify

sequencing flexibility are not suitable for the use in ACMs. Therefore, this article introduces a key

figure to map sequencing flexibility based on precedence graphs for use in ACMs. For this purpose,

requirements for the key figure are derived from the properties of autonomous control and a framework

is presented which integrates this key figure into the decision-making process. The results are evaluated

based on the presented requirements.

Abstract: The consumption level of gallon water is very high, thus makes the product distribution

activities from the company to the customers is the most important aspect. Gallon water has its

uniqueness, where empty gallons from customers will be taken back to the company by the vehicles.

Distribution systems with this situation is called Closed-loop Supply Chain. To solve the distribution system, the Vehicle Routing Problem with Simultaneous Delivery and Pick-up (VRPSDP) method is

used for determining the best route taken by the vehicle in distributing gallon water with the shortest

total travel distance. This study presents a comparison results between VRPSDP optimization using

two different algorithms, Local Solver algorithm and Simulated Annealing algorithm. VRPSDP is a

variant of the problem of Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) which calculate the entities that must be

taken back from customers to depot. The optimization model is built by making computer

programming model by using LocalSolver library. The result of this study is the model for determining

local optimal solution for Closed-loop Supply Chain distribution route.

the quality of TMR visitor service in order to increase visitor satisfaction. This study aims to identify

strategies to improve the quality of service visitors in accordance with the needs of visitors using TMR

Factor Analysis, Kano Model, and Quality Function Deployement method. Factor Analysis shows there

are five factors that influence visitor satisfaction that is conservation and demonstration, animal

welfare, facility, information, and accessibility. The Kano Model shows 14 attributes included in the

one-dimensional category, seven in the must-be category, four in the indifferent category, and one in

the attractive category. Of these 26 service quality attributes generate technical requirements or

strategies to meet the service attributes. The first level of House of Quality resuls 19 strategies to

improve the quality of visitor services to meet the 26 service attributes that have been identified

previously.

Abstract: Industry 4.0 has been evolving and affecting various sector globally, one of them is logistics

sector. On the other hand, Indonesia needs to solve its logistics problem regarding the amount of costs

that needs to be allocated to logistics activities, mainly transportation activities. A solution for the

problem is by using the development of ICT, and Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the options. The

main purpose of this study is to find a design of implementation strategy for IoT on logistic

transportation sector in Indonesia, based on its Key Success Factors (KSF). The study is divided into

two, identification and prioritizing KSF using Analytic Network Process, and designing the strategy. In

the first stage, the result indicates that there are eight main KSFs which affecting the implementation of

IoT in logistics transportation sector the most. In the second stage, the eight main KSFs could be used

to generate various strategies which then be designed into a structural strategy implementation diagram

using Interpretive Structural Modeling. The results of this study are the finding of eight main KSFs

which are change in business mindset; employees‟ commitment; performance‟s quality; training;

competition; involvement of top management; on-time delivery; and clear standard on architecture

reference for the IoT system, and also the discovery of implementation strategy diagram that consists of

eight main strategies which are change management; training; HR management; building cooperative

relationship with partners; maintaining and improving the company‟s system; establish a monitoring

system; forming a fail-proof system; and designing a standardized integration system.

number of passengers from Jakarta to destination areas. Multi Objective Goal Programming (MOGP)

is a method used to establish an optimal flight route. This method has a concept of minimizing the

deviation between reality and results from the research. The results of this method are the seven

aerodrome destinations from fifteen airports the company recommends. Then, it will be proceed with

Integer Linear Programming (ILP) method to know the frequency and daily plane assignment by

minimizing flight cost per hour of flight. Thus, the company can run its business expansion optimally.

Investment Feasibility Study of N-219 Aircraft Purchasing for Pioneer Flight in North Kalimantan

Abstract: This study discusses the investment plan on pioneer flight business in Indonesia. The

purpose of this study is to know the feasibility of investment plan to purchase N-219 aircraft to be

implemented by PT Pelita Air Service for pioneer flight business in North Kalimantan. The study is

conducted by using capital budgeting method. This research uses quantitative research type with

descriptive analysis method and case study approach. The study that is conducted at PT Pelita Air

Service shows the result that the investment plan will be feasible to be implemented and can increase

the income better. The use of the NPV method indicates that the investment plan resulted in a larger PV

Net Cash Flow than PV Initial Investment, which is amounted to Rp 54,721,058,900. Calculation by

B/C Ratio method obtained result of 1,11, and through IRR method obtained result of 19,03%, bigger

than rate of return which is wanted by company that is equal to 6,5%. Calculation by payback period

method shows that the payback period is shorter than the maximum payback period from the

investment, which is 3 years 5 months 10 days. On the use of ARR method obtained result of 10%, it

has exceeded the expected rate of return by the company which is equal to the return of bank deposits

in 1 year. Sensitivity analysis indicates that the subsidy decline is very influential on the feasibility of

investments that is made.

organization in reducing operating costs and improving the quality of the final product. Being in an

industry with close relation to suppliers, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) companies will

always strive to select the supplier that suits best to company‟s conditions and needs. Therefore, a

supplier ranking can assist the company in selecting the most suitable supplier according to the

considered criteria. This research utilizes DEMATEL-Based ANP (DANP) and Simple Additive

Weight (SAW) methods. The DANP method is used to generate weight, level of importance, and the

relationship between criteria depicted in Influence Network Relation Map (INRM). The DANP method

results that supplier reputation criterion is the most important criterion with a weight of 0,2848. The

Simple Additive Weight (SAW) method generates a supplier rating based on criteria weight of DANP.

The result of the SAW method is the supplier S1 is the best supplier with overall value of 0.9205.

Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta. In this situation, one of the preparations that plays a big role is the

transportation service quality itself. It‟s considered as one of the main factors that affects the decision

of prospective users in order to choose their public transportations to reduce the usage of private car.

This preliminary study identifies what, and which service criteria should be considered first in order to

deliver the optimum service performance using the 5 dimensional SERVQUAL and Kano Model.

There are 34 attributes of service quality criteria identified which adapted from PM No. 48/2015 as

national standard service quality for railway passenger transportation mode and international standard

service quality from EN 13816 as a main external reference to improve its service quality standard. The

result of Kano Model shows that there are 15 service criteria in “Attractive” category, 13 in

“One-dimensional”, and 5 in “Must be” which translated as “Customer Needs” to formulate

standardized service strategies. Through the establishment of House of Quality phase 1, there are 5

major “Technical Responses” that needed to be done for Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta to prepare

in order to deliver its optimal service quality which are: The provision of main facilities in stations and

trains, technology and management of information system development, implementation of customer

service evaluation system, periodical service performance evaluation system, and special on-job

training for maintenance staffs.

inventory stock with consideration of multi echelon logistics. Cox regression model was used to

investigate the relationship between a set of one or more covariates and the hazard rate of tire to predict

scraping time of tire. The result of prediction was used to calculate stock in every equipment user,

distribution center and factory. Economic Order Quantity was used to calculate stock. This paper

adopts the SPSS Modeler based analytical and simulation method to obtain the optimal configurations

cost model of maintenance and stock inventory. The equipment and logistics challenges of mining

companies provides a real context for the presentation of this research.

An Efficient Universal Designated Verifier Signature Scheme for Non-Transferable Data Sharing in

Clouds

Abstract: In the cloud data sharing environments, a universal designated verifier signature (UDVS)

scheme is a better choice to protect the right and privacy of data owner who has a valid signature on his

personal data, say medical records. In particular, such a scheme provides a non-transferable data

sharing mechanism for the data owner to convince an intended cloud data user of the validity of his

data. Also, the designated cloud data user is unable to further persuade any third party of his conviction,

so as to prohibit designated cloud users from arbitrarily disseminating downloaded information. In this

paper, we propose a new efficient UDVS scheme for non-transferable data sharing in clouds. A data

owner can upload his personal data with corresponding signatures to cloud servers and only the

designated data user can download it and verify its validity without further transferring it to irrelevant

users. The proposed scheme is based on the well-known computational Diffie-Hellman assumption and

is proved secure against adaptively chosen-message attacks in the random oracle model. The efficiency

comparison also reveals that the proposed UDVS scheme has lower computational costs, which helps

with practical implementation.

and straight-forward image steganography technique that has an acceptable embedding capacity, an

original color space of the cover image which is the RGB but rather in YCbCr color space. The

Huffman encoding helped to attain the high payload capacity and the concept of quadratic residues

strengthened the additional layer of security. The PSNR and SSIM results showed that after a 100

percent embedding to the LSBs of the cover image, distortions were within the satisfactory range. Also,

the Chi-square and RS analysis simulation results proved that the stego-images generated by the

proposed technique have a low probability of detection

1024Bit Key Fortification of RC6 for Video Encryption

Abstract: Data confidentiality protection is becoming important as the popularity of file sharing is

growing. This paper presents a fortified version of RC6 Block Cipher Algorithm designed for 1024bit

key length. RC6 uses four registers for strong plaintext and for data-dependent rotation while this study

uses sixteen registers in a 64bit block that helps increase the performance. The paper also presented a

comparative evaluation of the proposed modification of RC6 with Standard RC6, Enhanced RC6, and

Modified RC6. The evaluation was done by comparing encryption and decryption outputs of a single

video in 10 different file formats (mov, 3gp, avi, flv, m4v, mkv, mod, mp4, mpg, and wmv). The result

of the simulation shows that the proposed fortification of the RC6 Algorithm achieves a least

encryption/decryption time bringing maximum throughput. The proposed modification of this study

proved to be more than twice faster than the standard RC6 algorithm and twice as fast as the two other

algorithms mentioned and used in the cryptanalysis of this study despite its bigger key, block size and

registers.

Abstract: Collision vulnerability of MD5 cryptographic hash function greatly affects the data integrity

and authenticity of the hash value. In this study, the researchers introduced a new method for the

padding process of the original message and implemented additional operations in the cryptographic

hash function of MD5. The simulation results show that the enhancements made in the message digest

hash function have provided additional security in generating hash value. The avalanche results

provided good impact in protecting the integrity of the new message digest hash value. The

randomness test obtained impressive random hash generation. More importantly, the enhancements

have addressed MD5 collision susceptibility.

Sentence-Level Sarcasm Detection in English and Filipino Tweets

Abstract: Sarcasm is a special form of sentiment which defines as “a nuanced form of language in

which individuals say the opposite of what is implied”. In this study, the researchers collected 6,000

Tagalog tweets and 6,000 English tweets from the microblogging site, Twitter, and annotated it by

linguistic experts. Tweets were classified using Naïve Bayesian, Support Vector Machine and

Maximum Entropy supervised machine learning algorithms to develop a model. The study focused on

sentence-level sarcasm detection that includes lexical, pragmatic, hyperbole, quotations and

punctuation marks as the features extracted in the tweets. The tweets collected were about government,

politics, weather, social media, and public transport that are within 2 to 5 years from the course of this research. English and Filipino tweets classification show significant on results of the experiments done.

Each algorithm demonstrates its own distinct weakness and strength in both English and Filipino

datasets. It is concluded that expert annotation and balanced dataset plays an important role in the

results of sarcasm detection.

Scalable Query Profiling Employing Purging and Elimination Technique

Abstract: Reusing Queries contributes in speeding up the performance of database in responding to

future queries as it can reduce the number of database queries to be processed and sent back to the user.

Profiling a query in a machine who requested a query in database server improved the response time

when the query is reuse to answer executed query that is subdued to a profiled query. It also avoids the

utilization of database and network resources. This is because the data will be served locally as

compared to obtaining the data from the original source that is still travelling in the network which

entails cost not only on the database server but also in the network infrastructure. A condition in the

query that limits the result set of the query was removed before it will be sent to the database for

evaluation. This is to enhance the ability and usefulness of the result set of the query in answering

future subdued queries to be requested. To prevent query capability duplication as well as to

efficiently manage the space utilizes in the profiling of queries, profiled queries that are subdued by an

incoming query was purged while queries that are subdued to profiled query was not accepted in the

query logs and its result set will not be exported.

Performance Analysis of Enhanced SPECK Algorithm

Abstract: A secure lightweight block cipher is an effective security solution for applications running

on resource-constrained devices. The SPECK family of lightweight block ciphers is designed for

low-end devices that need data security. The randomness of the keystream produced by this algorithm

is a good indicator of its security strength. Nevertheless, the computed proportion of sequences based

on empirical test results falls beyond the range of acceptable interval, an evidence of non-randomness

to each algorithm. In this study, the researchers enhanced SPECK (k-SPECK) through the addition of a

key derivation function in its processes. Both SPECK and k – SPECK were evaluated with the two

sophisticated statistical test suite. The result shows that k – SPECK outperformed SPECK in terms of

randomness as its three variations successfully passed all the test of statistical packages NIST and

DieHarder, making it more cryptographically secured. Similarly, software implementation was also

evaluated showing that k – SPECK 128/192 and 128/256 performed faster in encryption cycle

compared to SPECK.

Security Assessment of Bruce-Force Attack to Subset Sum-Based Verifiable Secret Sharing Scheme

Abstract: The integration of subset sum in the verifiable secret sharing scheme provides added

security measure for a multiparty computation such as immediate identification of and removal of an

imposter, avoidance or discourages man-in-the-middle attack and lattice-based attack, and lessens

dealer‟s burden on processing monitoring the integrity of shareholders. This study focuses on the

security assessment of a brute-force attack on the subset sum-based verifiable secret sharing scheme.

With the simulation done using a generator of all possible fixed-length partition (which is k=3 as the

least possible) summing up to the sum of the original subset generated by the dealer, it shows that it

will already took 11,408 years to brute-force all possible values even on a small 32-bit-length value and

years for a 128-bit length value thus proving that the resiliency on brute attack on the subset sum

based VSSS can be discounted despite simplicity of the implementation. Zero knowledge on the

number of threshold will also multiply to the impossibility of the brute force attack.

computers which was conceptualized to provide not only a web server but also other services (e.g.

opening multiple applications, web browsing, web site accessing) in a more cost effective manner. The

utilization of web server using common off-the-shelf computers was based on the cluster framework.

The effectiveness of parallel computing on the web server as evaluated by the IT experts was

confirmed. The development of the system was based on rapid application development model. The

utilization of web server used old homogeneous and diskless set of machines. The system performance

was not degraded during the duration of the evaluation and monitoring. Achieving tremendous machine

power with reduced development costs was confirmed. The system is highly acceptable based on

experts‟ opinion. The functionality of the system was based on rates, latency and scalability. Security

design was evaluated as excellent based on firewall, user authentication, limitations of access to files

and confidentiality of records. The system is highly acceptable to the users as to accessibility because

of the simplicity of operations and flexibility of the system such as administering multiple applications,

opening and accessing the university website.

Abstract: Ninety-seven (97%) of children with disabilities (CWDs) are still unreached by the public

school system in the Philippines. This means that only a small portion has access to special education

despite having a national law that mandates inclusivity of CWDs and the right to basic education.

Some of the disabilities common in this population group is mental, motor-related, speech, and hearing

impairments. The modern time sees disability as a dimension of human culture, both “abled” and

“disabled” are part of a social function in the community. This human rights perspective gives

emphasis that PWD‟s treatment does not lie medically but in recognition that they are entitled to the same rights as everyone else and are capable of making their own decisions. For CWDs to be

motivated to take part in the society, their early childhood development must be given importance. It is

believed that these children must be given supplemental educational materials that can help them level

students, with speech and hearing impairment under Special Education (SPED) class, in learning basic

counting, English alphabet and recognizing basic shapes by using the technological advancement of

speech and character recognition in the general education. The developed system were used and tested

by SPED teachers, parents and target learners and has been an acceptable technology in developing

students‟ writing and speaking skills.

Modeling Passengers‟ Choice in Ride-Hailing Service with Dedicated-Ride Option and Ride-Sharing

Abstract: With the popularity of mobile application and mobile payment, online ride-hailing business

developed most rapidly in recent years. Most ride-hailing companies provide both dedicated-ride

option (with one passenger in the car) and ride-sharing option (with more than one passenger for

different destinations) for passengers. The passengers‟ choice among different options is of great

interests to the ride-hailing operators for improving their business. In this paper, logit-based choice

models are established to estimate the passengers‟ choice among taxi, dedicated ride, and ride-sharing.

Survey data in China is collected for model calibration. The models reveal how the key factors, e.g.,

traveling distance, waiting time, and pricing affect passengers‟ choice. It is also interesting to find that

the pricing of ride-sharing option is vital for profit maximization.

Litigation Patents Knowledge Flow of Smartphone: Based on the Technology Field Citation Network

Abstract: Patent litigation reflects the value of patents. Researching the knowledge absorption and

diffusion of litigation patents enables us to grasp the technological focus of the industrial competitors,

and thus get a map of the industry. The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and

structure of technological knowledge flow in the smart phone technology field. we proposed the idea

of using litigation patents as an entry point to construct a citation network. The study was carried out

in three steps: data collection and cleaning; construction of citation network in the technological field

and mapping citation network; network analysis. Network analysis was performed by network

topological analysis and key nodes centrality analysis. The results showed that the degree distribution

of citation network in technology field followed power-law distribution and the citation network was a

scale-free network. The key technology fields for smartphone litigation patents were G06F, H04M,

H04B, H04N, and H04L. The perspective of this research can be used as a reference for knowledge

flow analysis of other mature industries, and it can also provide decision-making basis for industrial

competitors' patent layout and prevention of litigation risks.

Validity and Reliability Assessment of the Game Addiction Scale: An Empirical Finding from

Indonesia

Abstract: The game addiction scale (GAS) by Lemmens, Valkenburg, and Peter is a popular tool that

is frequently used to evaluate game playing by adolescents. The scale that showed high reliabilities

was tested on 644 gamers in the Netherlands. The GAS consists of 21 items that are divided into seven

criteria, i.e., salience, tolerance, mood modification, relapse, withdrawal, conflict, and problems. This

research attempted to investigate the scale in gamers in Indonesia in order to validate and to make a

generalization of the GAS. A total of 360 respondents who are gamers have been chosen to participate in this study. They have to play the game for the last six months. Note that the massively multiplayer

online role-playing game is chosen for this research since this type of game is very popular among the

gamers in Indonesia. Results showed that the GAS demonstrated excellent internal consistency

(Cronbach‟s alpha scores for all variables are more than 0.6). Furthermore, the factor analysis revealed

good psychometric properties and fit the data well. These indicate that the GAS can be used to assess

Computer Simulation of Thermal and Beam Trajectory Characteristics in Rotating Anode X-Ray Tube

for Mammography

Abstract: We investigate the thermal and beam trajectory characteristics in rotating anode X-ray tube

for Mammography by computer thermal and space charge simulation. The anode which is usually

made of rhenium-tungsten faced molybdenum is the most high heated component around 2,500 degree

in X-ray tube. The high temperature of the anode is transmitted to the ball bearing with coated Pb in

rotor assembly. In order to reduce the rotation noise, the Pb layer should be keeping the metal lubricant

on the ball bearing surface in aging process of X-ray tube. And also the target focal spot of

Mammography X-ray tube is very small up to 0.1mm. That’s why we investigate the computer

simulation about Mammography X-ray tube with 40kW. We could obtain 224.3℃ Pb coated ball

bearing which is less than the melting temperature of lead(Pb) using ANSYS transient thermal

simulation in the aging process of X-ray tube with the proposed anode and metal tube. So we can meet

the rotation noise caused by melting the Pb coated layer when upto 9600 rpm of rotor speed. We also

investigate focal spot size on the target focal track applying the focusing cup and thermal source of the

tungsten filament by Opera 3D space charge simulation. We could obtain the focal spot up to 0.1mm

by optimizing the length, width and depth of focusing cup including one-step and two-step.

Waste Minimization Using Value Stream Analysis Tool to Increase Company Productivity (Case Study

Abstract: SMEs Gudeg Bu Hj. Ahmad is one of the SMEs engaged in culinary, where effectiveness

and efficiency is one of the important things and affect the condition of SMEs. Minimizing waste in

the production process is one of the goals of a company. Lean is a method that can minimize waste in

the production process. In this study the method used to minimize waste in the production process in

SMEs Gudeg Bu Hj. Ahmad uses several tools in Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT), such as

Process Activity Mapping (PAM), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Supply Chain Response Matrix

(SCRM), and Demand Amplification Mapping (DAM). The results of this study indicate that in the

production process gudeg in SMEs Gudeg Bu Hj. Ahmad there are 28 value added activities and 25

necessary non value added activities. Then it was found that the most priority waste was waste of

waiting for chicken raw materials. The way to overcome this is by identifying the demand trend plus

the modification of active coordination between the cooking section (in the kitchen), the presenter

gudeg (front), and the owner as the ordering to the supplier. The last way if there is no suitable method

is to increase the number of reserve suppliers for chicken raw materials.

Abstract: 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) or Industry 4.0 is the revolution of convergence in cyber

and physical realsm in the form of data and analytics from the industrial internet of things (IoT),

automation, mobility and the cloud. This apparently affects all disciplines, economies, industries and

governments, including construction and project management, where new opportunities drive new

employment and growth within the practices. With the main attribute of construction project as being

complex, 4IR would undoubtedly increase productivity and flexibility in the process of construction

and project management practices. This keynote speech thus aims at appraising the construction and

project management practices worldwide towards the 4IR of which the continuous improvement in

terms of construction industry performance could be made efficiently and effectively. Current

practices of both construction and project management would be critically reviewed in investigating

its impact to the society as a whole. The keynote speech is expected to shed lights on the current

scenarios, challenges and ways forward of construction and project management practices in 4IR

Fuzzy Model for Integration of Solar Systems into Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings

Abstract: The general aspiration for a larger living space over time along with the population growth

prediction has significant implications on future energy needs, underlining the urgency for improving

energy performance of buildings. In the European Union (EU), building sector accounts for

approximately 40% of global energy consumption and for 36% of CO2 emissions. Taking into

account that around 75% of the total stock in the EU is energy inefficient, this part of building sector

represents a great potential for energy saving and reduction of CO2 emissions. Especially, this refers

to the buildings built in the period from 1950 to 1970, due to the utilization of low-cost construction

technologies. In order to achieve nearly-zero energy level, various energy efficiency measures and

building-integrated renewable technologies need to be implemented. Solar thermal systems and

photovoltaic (PV) systems may play a crucial role since they can provide electricity, heating, and

cooling of the buildings as well as hot water supply. Towards this end, the main objective of this

paper is to propose a model for optimizing PV integration through retrofitting of multi-family

housing based on fuzzy sets type-2. Building retrofitting is being considered as one of the main

strategies to contribute to the reduction of building energy consumption and greenhouse gas

emissions. The proposed model employs fuzzy VIKOR method based on type-2 fuzzy sets to create

an effective decision-making platform for selection of the optimal solution. Fuzzy set theory provides

the possibility of addressing complex problems when it is not possible to gather a complete data set

or/and when data accuracy is uncertain. The variables involved can have both quantitative and qualitative form contributing also to the flexibility of the model. The model developed in this study

can help both the investors and the contractors in decision-making process regarding the integration

of PV system through retrofitting of the multi-family residential buildings.

Self-Enforcing Subcontractors in the Construction Industry – Why Not?

Abstract: Most transport infrastructure is funded by the tax payers. Clients are public agencies or

organisations regulated by public procurement legislation. This legislation entails that contractual

relationships cannot be infinite but has to be exposed to competition for each project. Hence, past

performance cannot alone be decisive in receiving a contract for a new public project. This is an

important difference between public procurement and the private market. A private client is not

restricted to formally renew the contract for each project. If the contractor has done a good job, the

private client can prolong the relationship without putting the next assignment out for all contractors

to bid on. Not using the direct market tool (i.e. formal bidding) but instead relying on the incentives

from future work is often described as a self-enforcing contract. However, this mechanism is not

applicable for the public client, due to public procurement. In order to investigate the extent of

self-enforcing on the infrastructure construction market, this paper focuses on the relationship

between main- and subcontractors. A multifaceted set of data from interviews, contracting documents

and questionnaires reveals that main-subcontractor relationships often can be characterised as one-off

projects, with the main contractor letting the subcontractors compete in prices for each new project.

Evaluating subcontractors past performance and the power of long-term self-enforcing contracts are

underrepresented in the material. This finding contradicts theoretical implications that long-term

self-enforcing contracts are common in the private construction market. The paper goes on explaining

this contradiction, providing general arguments adding to standard contract theory with specific

explanations from the constructions industry.

Examining Methods of Concrete Construction in a Tadao Ando Private Art Gallery: Lincoln Park,

Abstract: Creating high quality, smooth-finish architectural-grade concrete outside of Japan, using

non-Japanese tools, equipment, and labor, requires a special degree of conviction and a lot of trial and

error to achieve proscribed results. The definition of success, in this particular case study, was set

forth by none other than architect Tadao Ando of Osaka. In order to attain a degree of fidelity

mirroring what the master has already accomplished in his native homeland, within a society where

precision and exactitude has reached cult-like status, most may consider a Sisyphean task elsewhere.

However, it is the opinion of the author, who simultaneously was the on-site scribe and the Owner‟s

Representative of this Ando-designed Chicago private museum project (Wrightwood 659), that an

equivalent degree of design perfection was obtained. This paper will elaborate upon the myriad of

architectural and construction methodological details required to attain excellency in site-cast

architectural concrete.

Information Flow Optimisation: Enabling Standardisation towards Modular Building Methods of

Wood-building Solutions

Abstract: Currently, there is a considerable lack of residential buildings in Sweden. Hence,

companies that are active in the housing industry producing wood-building solutions have been

affected by high demand for their products. The industry tries to be more effective, and one means of

achieving this goal is to automate the production, similar to the automotive industry. However,

improvements in the information flow have not come as far as developments in the production.

Therefore, it is necessary to streamline the entire process and reduce the amount of manual work

using rationalisation and automation to enhance competitiveness. This is not only applicable to the

actual manufacturing process but also in a large degree to the design process, i.e. the transition from

the basic to the detail design stage. The purpose of this research is to compare the information flow

for various building projects before production, identifying development possibilities by using an

improved information process.

Information has been collected into a status report using interviews, surveys and from data in the

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Two areas were identified out of the status report: standard projects and special projects. The special

projects constitute 90 % of the project departments actual workload, whereas standard projects do not

exceed the projected lead times creating less problem than special projects. Therefore, the long-term

development strategy for the industry should be to improve the level of project standardisation,

developing an advanced modular system based on improved information flow minimising the need

for special projects.

Efficiencies in the on-site Material Handling Process Using Radio Frequency Identification for wood

Building Construction

Abstract: In the past decades, the housing shortage in Sweden accumulated to a level that led to

problems finding accommodation for many people, which created opportunities for the market

producing multi-family houses. The market is dominated by concrete solutions whereas solutions

using wood as a building material only comprise 9 % of the market. This market is highly

competitive with many companies offering relatively similar products or services. One way to

develop new business opportunities is to enhance other competence besides production technology

that currently acts as a market development barrier. Hence, the material handling process at

building sites is seen as a barrier that can contribute improving competitiveness.

There are currently problems with material handling at many building sites of wood-building

solutions in Sweden, materials arrive at the wrong time, waste of storage space, unnecessary tracking

of materials or wrong quantities arriving at the sites. The purpose of the study is to investigate if

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology that can be used to achieve an efficient

material handling process and if the wood building industry in Sweden is willing to implement the

technology. Thus, investigate if material handling using RFID can improve time effectiveness,

minimise waste and monitor moisture levels in the material efficiently, creating improved

competitiveness. The study shows that the use of RFID improves time efficiency and control the

material handling, indicating that RFID has potential to improve this process. Further, the study

identifies possibilities by using RFID technology to minimise damages and control moisture levels.

An Exploration of Technology-Culture Fit of BIM Adoption in Construction Industry

Abstract: The application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) grows rapidly in construction

industry in recent years. However, cultural issues are frequently mentioned as the obstacles of BIM

adoption. In this research, BIM is understood not only as an objective force but also a socially

constructed product. It is proposed that the misfits between the values laden in technology and the

adopter‟s actual organizational culture leads to the failure of technology adoption. In construction

industry, the gap between BIM and traditional organizational culture is noteworthy. Therefore, the

objective of this research is to explore whether the fit between organizational culture and BIM affects

BIM adoption. Seven interviews on BIM implementation are conducted in both Mainland China and

HongKong. Interview questions are mainly about the BIM practices of organizations, including the

initiation, implementation and evaluation of BIM. The coding framework is developed according to

dimensions of organizational cultural values. According to content analysis, altogether six value

dimensions laden in BIM are identified to have conflicts with the organizational cultural values in

construction, including hard data versus personal experience, short term versus long term, isolation

versus collaboration, stability versus change, process versus result, internal versus external. These

conflicts will impede BIM adoption. The concept of technology-culture fit provides a new lens to

examine organizational cultural and technology through a commensurate dimension of value. The

results provide the managers a framework to diagnose the cultural issues of BIM adoption. In

practice, organization has to align the organizational culture with values laden in BIM to guarantee

Review of Available Schedule Management Approaches

Abstract: Schedule management is important when conducting a project because poor schedule

management might increase the cost and sometimes decrease the quality of the project. Since there

are lots of distinct means of schedule management, this paper only focuses on earned value

management (EVM)-based method and its extensions. The superiority of EVM is that it combines the

concepts of scope, quality and cost. Also, it can forecast final duration and monitors the performance

of a project along its progress. As construction projects become more complicated, EVM turns out to

stand out over other methods. EVM methods have been tested and simulated in many literatures.

However, a user still encounters the problem of selecting suitable methods. The purpose of this article

is to review EVM-related methods and to summarize basic principles for selection. The research

results could be a guide for EVM-related methods selection and the basis for future research.

Feasibility Study of Implementing Competitive Dialogue in Taiwan

Abstract: The European Union (EU) is committed to improving the lack of communication and lack

of flexibility in the tendering process. Traditional tendering approaches can no longer meet the needs

of current public construction procurements in complex execution environments. The competitive

dialogue (CD) procedure was published by the EU as a new procedure for awarding public contracts

in 2004. Introducing CD procedure as a new tendering approach will be a challenge for a country that

tries to improve its contracting system. This article reviews the advantages of using CD and the

implementation conditions by some countries, and then analyzes the successful factors and the

difficulties those have been encountered by different countries. Finally, this article discusses the

feasibility of implementing CD in Taiwan. The research outcomes are valuable for the countries who

try to consider CD as a possible solution in their contracting systems.

Development of Schedule Float Calculation Program

Abstract: Schedule planning for construction projects is usually performed by critical path method,

by which critical path(s) and activity floats in a schedule are generated for performing necessary

management actions. Some project managers do not make good use of the critical path(s) and floats,

because they might have misunderstanding on obtained information or incorrect results. Schedule

floats is handily for use through commercial project management software (PMS). However,

available PMSs provide total float and free float only. This study first reviews various float types in

literature and PMSs, and then clarifies the correct float calculation methods. After that, a schedule

float calculation program is developed in this study. The developed float calculation program is the

basis for possible float management applications. With that, project managers can manage schedule

more correctly and efficiently.

Conceptualizing Team Adaptability and Project Complexity: A Literature Review

Abstract: Construction projects are usually laced with ambiguities and uncertainties that make them

increasingly complex in today‟s fast changing world. Team adaptability as an organizational behavior is considered an important quality for success in such uncertain project environments yet it remains

largely unexplored in a construction context. This notable absence is perhaps partly due to the general

unwillingness to focus on individual psychology, as the industry seems infatuated with process

nature of the construction project itself, in turn, plays a role as a moderating factor on team

adaptability. Conclusions are drawn highlighting the significance of team adaptability in complex

projects and proposing future research areas.

The Typhoon Haiyan Aftermath: Assessment on Rehabilitation Management Efforts of Philippine

Abstract: Typhoon Haiyan, locally named as Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines in 2013 was so far

the strongest tropical cyclone ever recorded. Its storm strength had an equivalent of Category 5, the

most devastating and notorious typhoon to make a landfall. Nearly 13 million or 13% of the country‟s

population were affected across the Visayas region and claimed thousands of lives and homes of its

people. Half a decade after the much disastrous force of nature, the affected population still suffer its

consequences. This study aims to survey and assess the rehabilitation and risk reduction management

efforts of Philippine authorities. It aims to present a vivid picture of how far these efforts have

mitigated the damage from the perspectives of the researchers - Civil Engineers who are in the

academe. The scope of the study includes an environmental and social impact assessment of the

efforts made by Philippine authorities. The study used a mixed method of both qualitative and

quantitative type of research. The instruments used in the study to collect the data are survey forms,

focused group discussions (FGD‟s) and key informant interviews (KII). The data are collated

according to type of assessment being made. Result shows that there is a weak and

nationally-centered emergency management body, coordination problems between the national and

local agencies, as well as lack of standard rehabilitation and recovery plan which hampered the

Philippine authorities‟ response to Super Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda.

Expectations and Perceptions in Engineering Consulting Project Management Quality Services: A

Gap Analysis using AHP Method and SERVQUAL Model

Abstract: Measuring client satisfaction is one of the greatest challenge in implementing quality

services. Quality affects the performance of the services as well as clients‟ satisfaction, therefore

measuring the gap between clients‟ expectations and service provider‟s perception of quality services

will help in identifying the real definition of quality services in the service industry. The purpose of

this study is to analyze the gap of quality of services in the Engineering Consulting (EC) services

using modified SERVQUAL model and AHP method. For engineering consulting service, the

interpretation of the clients‟ needs is very critical. Therefore, having a better understanding of the

clients‟ needs will produce an effective and efficient implementation of the engineering project. In

this study project managers of a leading consulting firm in the Philippines were surveyed using

pairwise questions on the five generic factors of SERVQUAL model and was compared with the

representatives of the leading government agency implementing large infrastructure projects. Using

AHP method and geometric mean, gap analysis was performed to identify the priority quality factors

between clients‟ expectations and EC‟s perceptions of quality services. Results shows that

“Reliability” or the ability to performed service dependably and accurately is the top priority in

quality services for both EC‟s and clients. It was only in “Responsiveness” and “Assurance” that the

EC‟s quality perception is higher that the clients‟ expectations using AHP method and geometric

mean gap analysis.

Abstract: In recent years, there has been an increased demand from luxury shops for clean

windows. To satisfy this demand, efforts have been made to develop a window cleaning device.

However, as these efforts are at an early stage, the economic feasibility of such a device is not yet

clearly understood. This study aims to estimate the economic feasibility of a window cleaning

device through an LCC analysis. The LCC analysis was done for the conventional cleaning method

and a newly-developed window cleaning device. Based on the study findings, it is expected that

such a window cleaning device could reach break-even point in seven years after its introduction.

aims to understand the demands of potential clients in this area of technology through a survey. In

this study, building owners, managers and tenants were surveyed on the current status of their

window cleaning, and their intent to invest in window cleaning in the future. Through the study, the

potential clients for window cleaning were identified.

window(s) on a specific floor. However, the conventional cleaning devices that have been

developed are for cleaning the entire façade, making them inappropriate to meet the demand for

partial cleaning. In addition, the different cleaning target means that the conventional devices

cannot be used, as their forms and operating mechanism present a limitation. The purpose of this

study is to develop a design of cleaning device and its operating mechanism in order to clean

specific windows occasionally. In this study, two methods are derived, and a comparative analysis

of the two was performed. The window-height device is evaluated to have more advantages in

cleaning windows individually.

Abstract: In recent years, both improvements in the outside environment and a clear view have

been demanded by the operators of luxury shops located on the 2nd through 5th floors of high rise

buildings. However, the conventional window cleaning methods and devices cannot satisfy this

demand. For this reason, there is a pressing need to develop a new specialized window cleaning

device. A new cleaning tool that addresses these unique window cleaning conditions is needed. In

this study, this device has been developed in the form of a wiper and roller-brush type cleaning tool

and an all-in-one cleaning tool. Then, the advantages and disadvantages of each tool are compared.

Based on this analysis, the size of the all-in-one tool is reduced, and its system becomes simpler as

a result. However, the all-in-one tool may leave traces or marks behind, a shortcoming that should

be addressed before its commercialization. The analysis shows that all-in-one tool is small and

lightweight, but there is a risk of leaving a trace on the window. On the other hand, separate type

tool is somewhat larger and heavier, but the cleaning results are clear. Therefore, a separate type

tool with excellent cleaning performance is more suitable.

A Study on Non-Traditional Factors Affecting Price Differences of Real Estate in Different

Regions-Based on 35 Chinese Cities Panel Data

Abstract: Based on the panel data of 35 Chinese cities from 2002 to 2015, this paper establishes a

cluster analysis index system and divides the real estate market into developed markets, developing

markets, and backward markets. The static fixed effect model is used to analyze the non-traditional

factors that cause price differences in the real estate region. The study finds that medical resources

and beautiful environments can significantly increase real estate prices, while educational resources

and convenient transportation can significantly reduce real estate prices in developed markets. In the

developing markets, convenient transportation can significantly increase real estate prices, while

medical resources, education resources and beautiful environments have no significant impact on real

estate prices. In backward markets, medical resources can significantly reduce real estate prices, while

education resources and beautiful environments have no significant impact on real estate prices. In

developed markets, the government should improve the level of education and medical treatment,

strengthen the construction of transportation facilities, and rationally arrange the environmental

resources in urban areas. In developing markets, the government should rationally plan the

construction of transportation facilities. In backward markets, the government should increase the

investment in medical resources so as to control the real estate prices within a reasonable level.

The Influence of Traffic Control Policy on Urban Logistics Efficiency in Beijing

Abstract: City managers usually implement traffic control policies for the distribution of freight

vehicles into urban areas, especially in urban centers, to ease the negative impact of urban logistics

activities. To analyze the impact of traffic control policies on Beijing's urban logistics efficiency, the

paper uses data envelopment analysis (DEA) to construct a urban logistics efficiency measurement

model to measure the efficiency of Beijing's urban logistics. Tobit regression method is used to

analyze the impact of traffic control policies on the efficiency of Beijing urban logistics. As a result, it

was found that the regional and time-limited policies have a certain negative impact on the efficiency

of Beijing's urban logistics, and according to the analysis results, corresponding suggestions for

improving the efficiency of Beijing's urban logistics are put forward.

Interest-free Installment Payment Strategy for Retailers under Third Party Payment Platform

Abstract: With the development of e-commerce, more and more people have opted for online

shopping. At the same time, consumers‟ payment forms have also undergone tremendous changes.

More and more people have opted for third-party payment platforms with installments and

interest-free installments. The payment is advanced. Retailers partnering with third-party payment

platforms to provide interest-free installment services are equivalent to providing an alternative price

discount that can attract more consumers to purchase products to gain more profits. This article first

analyzes the mode of operation of full payment, installment payment, and interest-free installment

payment, and then constructs a retailer profit function to compare the retailer's profit before and after the interest-free installment payment. The results show that when consumers choose to use

interest-free installment payments within a certain range, providing interest-free installment payment

services can bring greater profits to retailers.

Abstract: With the knowledge economy era, knowledge workers have been regarded as the

intangible asset in an organization and played a leading role to support an organization‟s innovative

competence; therefore, knowledge workers‟ capabilities of knowledge exploration and knowledge

exploitation are expected to improve an organization‟s competitiveness. This study aims at analyzing

the effect of knowledge exploration and knowledge exploitation on procedural justice. The population

of the research consists of IT engineers in Taiwan with the sample size of 104 subjects who were

selected based on convenience sampling. Data analysis was done using IBM SPSS 22. The results

show that knowledge exploration is positively correlated to knowledge exploitation and

organizational justice, and knowledge exploitation is positively correlated to organizational justice.

Therefore, this paper selects the real gender prediction problem as the representative. It uses machine

learning algorithms to identify the true gender of social media users and provides a guarantee for

constructing a reasonable user profile. In order to predict the true gender of Weibo users, this article

starts with the nicknames used by Weibo users and the blog posts published by users. They use Naive

Bayes classifier and SVM classifier to learn about gender The characteristics of the prediction

problem, because the effect of a single machine learning model may not be good, and finally the

Naive Bayes classifier and SVM classifier model fusion, in order to pursue better prediction

performance.

Abstract: The era of Omni-Channel Retailing (OCR) is coming, but the commercial practice of OCR

is in its infancy with relevant researches are also less. This paper analyzes the content of

Omni-Channel Retail Logistics Service (OCRLS), clarifies the index system of the evaluation model

of OCRLS integration level, and empowers the indicators. Finally, evaluate the capabilities of

OCRLS of 112 well-known retail enterprises through the model while analyze the current status of the

OCRLS integration in China. The results show that at present most companies in China do not pay

enough attention to physical store logistics services and reverse logistics services, but most companies

are aware of the arrival of the Omni-channel era and are in the process of integrating all channels and

integrating logistics services.

Multi-round Tag Recommendation Algorithm for Shopping Guide Robots

Abstract: With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology, various "service robots"

and "can talk and listen" commercial service robots have gradually entered our daily lives. How to use

the multi-round conversation ability of shopping guide robots to search for users' intentions and

promote the transaction of goods is one of the new retail formats. This paper constructs a multi-round tag recommendation algorithm framework for shopping robots and forms a product label mining and

link prediction scheme. Combined with CTR estimation of user information, online enhanced tag

recommendation is realized by means of reinforcement learning. Through the comparison of

experimental data, the algorithm model has increased the click volume of the product by 6%. The

Will Media Coverage Influence the Reduction of Venture Capitalists?

Abstract: Traditional finance theory belies that investors are rational when they are making

decisions. However, in practice, investors often have irrational sentiment when they are facing various

information. There are lots of evidence of media‟s positive or negative reports will have a different

impact on investor sentiment. This paper examin whethen media coverage will influence the

reduction of venture capitalists. We first handcollected the media coverage data of 30 listed

companies in the GEM of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and by event study and OLS regression, we find

that the total media reports have an impact on the abnormal returns of VCs, and will positively

influence the abnormal returns of VCs. These results show that VCs may use media reporting

sentiment to guide public investment behavior and then influence stock prices, and obtain short-term

investment returns.

Abstract: In this paper, the authors aim to propose an efficient approach to schedule trains in frontier

station. Considering both route conflict and resource limit in train traveling, this paper formulates a

mathematical model of station scheduling, which set the shortest average delay time as objective. In

view of the difficulty in solving the mathematical model, a multi-agent simulation model is

established to solve the train approach conflict and the resource constraint, which based on the

judgement of node occupancy conflict. Finally, by analyzing the train timetable of simulation model,

the effectiveness of the simulation model is validated, and corresponding optimization suggestions are

proposed.

Research on Container Throughput Forecast of Qingdao Port based on Combined Forecasting Model

Abstract: The container throughput reflects the development level of the port to a large extent, and

the scientific prediction of the container throughput of a port is conducive to the reasonable planning

and construction of the port. Based on the historical data of container throughput of Qingdao Port, this

paper establishes three kinds of single prediction models, namely, three-order exponential smoothing

model, logistic growth curve function model and BP neural network model, and combined forecasting

models. By comparing the average relative errors of the fitted values of the four models, it can be

proved that the combined forecasting model enjoys more precise forecast than monomial forecast

model. Finally, according to the prediction results of the combined model, the corresponding

development strategy is proposed for Qingdao Port.

used.This paper intends to explain how Building Information Modeling software is useful to simulate

the energy consumption, assessing various combinations of characteristics of the buildings for its

analysis. In this case, Revit 2017 from AutoDesk is the software employed to model the building,

due to its common use in the construction industry. Green Building Studio 2017 is the software for the

energy consumption analysis, because it is also from AutoDesk.

Using Green Building Studio software is a practical tool which can generate different energy analysis

simulation considering diverse factors such as location, the number of stories, the material of the

envelope, the shape of the building. The comparison parameter of each model is the energy consumed

in a year, and the cost related.

The 2019 3rd International Conference on E-Business and Internet (ICEBI 2019) will be held during April
