Autonomy is an amazing showcase of the latest French
and international innovations in urban mobility. I was delighted to meet many companies and innovative startups to discuss
the new solutions they offer for a shared, cleaner, autonomous, and
more connected mobility.
Elisabeth Borne French Minister of Transport
Autonomy's vision is to be the go-to collaborative platform for public and private organizations to solve our urban mobility challenges. The future of urban mobility is a hot discussion topic and this year we upgraded our conference program, ‘The Urban Mobility Summit’, to being a key feature of Autonomy 2017. It proved a useful platform for policymakers, companies and innovators to share their vision on the five key mobility disruptors: active mobility, data analytics, electric, shared and autonomous vehicles – ADESA for short.
We were honoured to host leading city and transport networks – C40 Cities, ICLEI, UITP and Polis – and mobility market shapers: Engie, Renault, Allianz, Blue Solutions Groupe Bolloré, ChargePoint, OFO, Cycleurope, UJET, Mappy, Vulog and ViaID. Our partnerships with these and other organizations position Autonomy as the world’s go-to urban mobility event. Please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn, or share feedback and ideas by emailing me at [email protected] Ross Douglas, Autonomy CEO & Founder
Autonomy is a French, Paris-based company focused on improving
the way we move in cities. Our annual flagship event, ‘Autonomy & The Urban Mobility Summit’, is where innovators, cities and urbanites gather to build a new mobility landscape.
The 3-day event includes a conference program: The Urban Mobility Summit, an exhibition area, test tracks, demos and startup pitch sessions. Attendees have the opportunity to try out the latest mobility innovations disrupting the industry.
The first two days are dedicated to professionals and institutions (B2B – B2G) and the third day is open to the public (B2C).

Institutions at Autonomy 2017
Autonomy’s core mission is to accelerate the urban mobility revolution by bringing together both private and public players. Autonomy has partnered with institutions and city networks, who hosted workshops, conferences and meetups at Autonomy: Société du Grand Paris, STIF, Mairie de Paris, Polis Network, UITP, Business France, Institut Montaigne, Forum Métropolitain du Grand Paris.
A wonderful opportunity to share ideas with professionals from across the world. Jessica Clift, Business Case Lead, Transport for London
Autonomy has succeeded in establishing the subject of mobility in the Paris region by including actors who represent all types of transportation and who are coming from all over the world. I was happy to have the chance to meet and discuss with numerous international businesses, which are interested in introducing and deploying their own solutions in France and the Paris region. Robin Rivaton, Managing Director, Paris Region Entreprises
Autonomy allows for the discovery of a large number of innovative solutions in the mobility sector. Service Nouveaux Usages à la Mobilité, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines
FOCUS: CITIES & POLICYMAKERS
7
The way we move in cities is changing. To help understand the transition Autonomy created the acronym ADESA, which illustrates the five elements disrupting mobility.
To accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility, we choose the top 50 players for each of the following verticals:
Active mobilityMajor cities like Paris, London and Barcelona have identified active mobility as a major component of their new mobility plans and are building dedicated infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists while reducing road space for motorists.
ViaID, Easybike, Cycleurope, Shimano, Micro-mobility, Vot, Globber, Revoe.
Shared mobilityThere has been an explosion of shared bike, scooter and car services in most major European cities, A second generation of free-floating ‘dockless’ vehicles booked and paid for via smartphone will soon enter our cities.
Renault Mobility, PSA Free2Move, Vulog, Cityscoot, Ofo.
Autonomous vehiclesThe race is on between two competing AV solutions: OEMs building cars that can switch to autopilot on request and tech companies building robo-taxis that cannot be driven. There is no doubt that urbanites will start using AVs regularly in major cities by 2025.
Coma.ai (Georges Hortz), Renault, NAVYA (speaker), Transdev (Hackaton 2016), Hyperloop.
Data analyticsThe rise of the Internet of Things makes it easy to capture data and optimise systems. Connected vehicles will generate the necessary data to enable autonomous driving. Smart Cities already leverage data to help us get around.
Allianz, Open data soft, Waze, Mappy, Uber.
Electric vehiclesThe future of mobility is electric: buses, cars, 3-wheelers, scooters, bicycles, segways and solowheels are benefitting from improved battery technology. Reduced maintenance and running costs make EVs more appealing for urbanites. We now need to provide clean energy to meet this growing demand.
Engie, ChargePoint, EVBox, Bolloré Blue solutions, Esprit.
