Aerial Photo Acquisition
Aerial imagery forms the foundation for accurate measurements to assist
the project manager in need of land use, physical features, surface models,
and volumetric data. Some common application include:
Land use studies
Vegetation analysis
Large scale wall displays
Court exhibits
Customized maps
Aerial photography can be provided to you as a hard copy or digital
product that is ready to be viewed using standard software. ERG also
maintains a large film library to meet your needs for commercial imagery
or historical data.
Planimetric / Topographic Data
Photogrammetric surveys provide an efficient and cost-effective means of
developing topographic mapping for your project.
Any project involving design and construction requires current and
accurate surface mapping. Photogrammetric surveys provide an efficient
and cost-effective means of developing topographic mapping for your
project. Common applications include:
Engineering and design
7
Cut/Fill calculations
Storm water management
Impervious surface determination
ALTA surveys
FIRM updates
Volumetric computations.
Following our quality control procedures, data is delivered as plotted
maps or in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Esri, and other popular digital
formats or paper/mylar plots.
Digital Orthophotography
ERG’s knowledge of principles and practices in photogrammetry is
complemented with the use of the latest technologies and equipment.
ERG’s technicians’ knowledge of principles and practices in
photogrammetry is complemented with the use of all industry standard
equipment including Airborne Global Positioning System (AGPS), flight
management software, softcopy photogrammetry systems and
stereoplotters.
Through stereoscopic measurement and autocorrelation processing of the
photography, a digital elevation model (DEM) is produced, resulting in a
grid of points defining the shape of the earth’s surface. The image scans,
ground control and DEM data are combined via software to “wrap” the
perspective photo onto the DEM data. Once the image is resampled,
software is used to blend the images together to form a continuous,
seamless image. The resulting orthographically correct imagery can be
provided digitally for viewing at various scales, or plotted on film or paper
at a scale suitable for your project.

LiDAR
ERG uses LiDAR technology for large projects that require information
quickly and for areas that are inaccessible or difficult to measure using
other methods.
Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) is a laser system that sends out
narrow pulses or beams of lights. The returning light is then counted and
processed by a receiver.
LiDAR in an aerial platform collects information that defines the surface
of the earth by sweeping back and forth as the aircraft is in motion. The
resulting point data forms a surface model showing the heights of all
buildings and other objects on the ground, as well as a bare earth surface.
The bare earth data set can be used to support the production of digital
orthophotography or contours.
ERG uses LiDAR technology for large projects that require information
quickly and for areas that are inaccessible or difficult to measure using
other methods. LiDAR can also penetrate tree and vegetation cover. It is
unaffected by sunlight or temperature, making it possible to collect data
at night.

AGRICULTURAL MAPPING & ANALYTICS
GIS application in agriculture has been playing an increasingly important
role in crop production throughout the world by helping farmers in
increasing production, reducing costs, and managing their land resources
more efficiently. GIS application in agriculture such as agricultural
mapping plays a vital role in monitoring and management of soil and
irrigation of any given farm land. GIS agriculture and agricultural mapping
act as an essential tools for management of agricultural sector by acquiring
and implementing the accurate information into a mapping environment.
GIS application in agriculture also helps in management and control of
agricultural resources. GIS agriculture technology helps in improvement of
the present systems of acquiring and generating GIS agriculture and
resources data.
ERG uses GIS application in agriculture sector such for improving present method of acquiring and generating agricultural and resources data.
The company uses different spatial, spectral and temporal resolutions for:
Crop mapping yield estimation
Crop assessment and Crop health
Irrigated landscape mapping
