Launching in May of 2019 - The Isithelo Project is an opportunity to do something uniquely amazing. The Isithelo project empowers teachers and students. AISJ provides time, resources and mentorship for students in Grades 9 and 10 to practice perseverance by investigation, design, creating and taking risks. The outcome will be an amazing experience for students to take a learning journey full of discovery.

Many of whom have been accepted into competitive universities & colleges worldwide. Over the past four years, 98% of AISJ graduates continued on to 3 & 4-year institutions of higher learning. A significant majority of our students choose to pursue the challenge of an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program. All IB courses are open to non-IB diploma students.

AISJ has a two semester calendar year. First and second semester grades are recorded on the student’s official transcript. Students are assessed for proficiency against assessment and reporting standards with each course reporting to three or four standards.

A 1-7 grading scale is used which mirrors the IB grading scale. A 4 point proficiency scale reflects progress towards the standards. A score of 2 is a passing grade,earning credit.
