Contemplation Court

A transitional memorial area

Contemplation Court plays an important role in the

grieving process for families and friends. It provides

a peaceful and serene place where people can visit

during the early stages of grieving as they come to

terms with the loss of their loved one.

Contemplation Court is a unique facility in South Australia

that allows family and friends to visit loved ones for up to

six months after cremation and until fi nal decisions are

made about a more permanent memorial. Centennial Park

was the fi rst cemetery in Australia to o� er such a space.

Ultimately, a longer term memorial provides the

fi nal bond between the life and memories of

loved ones, family and friends.

Contemplation Court provides a place

to visit soon after cremation.

Contemplation Court is a courtesy service provided to the families and friends of those who have been cremated at Centennial Park.

Please note:

We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to arrange for ashes to be collected from Contemplation Court and delivered to the Administration o� ce for collection by the authorised person.

Without a physical place to visit,

pause and refl ect, people can often

feel lost while mourning the loss of a

loved one. Centennial Park provides

a transitional memorial area called

We take pride in providing a fi rst-class cremation service with the deceased’s and

their family’s dignity and care in mind.

Cremations at Centennial Park require a Cremation Permit form and a Cremation

Authority (CA) form, signed by the applicant for the Cremation Permit. Families and the general

public are invited to view our crematorium operations by attending one of our tours on the last Saturday of the month, community group tours or by special arrangement by

calling Centennial Park on 8276 6011.

Splitting of ashes

Splitting of ashes into multiple containers for sharing among family/friends, can be completed if requested on the Cremation Authority (CA Form).

There is a fee for each additional container. $15.00

4 hour turnaround (from cremation to ashes being ready for collection) $310.00

When a 4 hour turnaround has been requested

the ashes will be available for collection

directly from Centennial Park four hours

after the receipt of the deceased at the

crematorium with completed and correct

documentation. Ashes will be available for

collection from Centennial Park between 9am

to 5pm, Monday to Friday, unless by special

arrangement and a surcharge may apply.

The co� n must arrive at Centennial Park no later than 1pm, to meet our 4 hour turnaround time requirements. Special Arrangements may be requested and a surcharge may apply.

Collection $100.00

Centennial Park o� ers to collect co� ns from

funeral directors for cremations. A collection

fee applies where the deceased is collected

outside of a 50km radius of Centennial Park.

Witness of cremation $350.00

An activation button is now available for

cremations. This enables a family member to

initiate the cremation process remotely. All

correct legal documentation to be received

prior to co� n arrival at Centennial Park.

Made from heavy cardboard, scatter tubes

are specifi cally designed to securely hold

the ashes of loved ones. These scatter tubes

are easy to use and allow for a controlled

release of ashes.

Available in a variety of designs and sizes.

The scatter tubes are a contemporary and

tasteful way to scatter ashes. Scatter tubes

are available in a variety of sizes including

mini, medium and large.

Centennial Park holds a variety of jewellery and urns in many colours and design styles for ashes. Urns and jewellery may di� er from the images shown. Please check availability before fi nalising the urn selection with the family.

A Plain English Statement (CCASA Form) must be completed for all new burial Interment Rights by the proposed Interment Right holder before a burial can occur.

Families should be aware that there are

specifi c monumental requirements in

particular areas and should understand

these before purchasing a position at

Centennial Park.

We highly recommend that families speak to

Centennial Park beforehand and even visit to

look at all the di� erent options available, and

to ensure their needs are met.

Some areas of Centennial Park are irrigated,

while others are not, another reason to

contact Centennial Park to fi nd out about all

the options available.

New burial Interment Rights

Interment Rights for new burial positions are

issued for 50 years or may be purchased in

perpetuity (forever).

Renewed burial Interment Rights

Interment Rights for renewed burial positions

are issued for an initial period of 50 years or

forever (perpetuity).

Additional tenure with a minimum of 5 years

Families may add tenure to Interment

Rights with a minimum of 5 years and are

encouraged to do so.

Perpetuity (forever)

A perpetual Interment Right ensures the site

for a burial or ashes memorial will be left as

is forever, with no need for future generations

to renew.

Interment Right holder

Rights and responsibilities are defi ned in the

Plain English Statement Form. The family

must decide who will be the Interment Right

holder, as only the Interment Right holder

can authorise interments and monumental

work at the site.

Transfer of Interment Right declaration form

A Transfer of an Interment Right is

only permitted with the approval of

Centennial Park.

Burial - Derrick Gardens

With permission from the O� ce of Australian War Graves, Centennial Park can o� er families burial positions within Derrick Gardens.

The fi rst Interment into this area must be

approved by the O� ce of Australian War Graves.

It is possible to have up to 3 burial interments and

16 sets of ashes.


With Centennial Park lowering equipment the

maximum permissible co� n/casket size is

2150mm x 800mm.

size positions is 2280mm x 800mm.

Monument of up to 1.8m tall

With views from the hills to the sea, Olive Views is a beautifully peaceful, calming space in which to honour your loved one’s memory. Olive Views provides ample space for large monuments and earth burials.

Burial - General Vaults

Vault burial for up to 3 people

Centennial Park has a limited number of reinforced pre-cast (concrete) vaults available in the General Vault area which can be purchased by families who are looking for a vault burial instead of an earth burial.

Maximum interments



All vaults in the general vaults section are designed to accommodate 3 interments. The cost to purchase a vault includes the fi rst opening fee.

Triple Vault $21,000.00




A surcharge of $500.00 is payable if a family chooses to select a particular position rather than the next available in a General Vaults section of the Park.

Martinique Grove’s intimate, granite-enclosed design centres around a calming cluster of fragrant Magnolia trees that when in bloom will be resplendent with large canopies of stunning, aromatic white fl owers. Lined with rows of elm trees and ample seating, Martinique Grove is a stunning place to sit and refl ect on the life of loved ones.

Monumental fees

The erection of a monument or additional inscription to an existing monument is subject to approval by Centennial Park.

Monumental work must be conducted by an authorised Monumental Mason and is subject to a permit fee.

Monuments in the burial areas described in the booklet are an additional cost via a Monumental Mason.

Any monumentation constructed withinthe cemetery without authorisation willbe removed.
