Monday, October 8th

Welcoming Day

**school visit – acquainting with school facilities / meeting with the school management

**project activities: TRADITIONAL MEALS presentation

Students present the results of their online cooperation. Students worked in 6 international groups

focusing on meals containing: vegetables (supervised by Poland), soups (supervised by Lithuania),

pasta and starchy products (supervised by Latvia), meat (supervised by Romania), fish (supervised by

Portugal) and fruit and desserts (supervised by Spain). Students had the chance to discuss, evaluate

their online cooperation results and, finally, present show their outcomes to other teams.

*Activity’s added value: integration of culturally diverse pupils (All presentations available online)

**Local visits: cultural heritage of the hosting country

Visit to the Monastery of Saint Elijah. St. Elijah (Sfantu Ilie) is the patron of the Romanian school and,

therefore, the monastery cooperates closely with the our partner school.

The activity’s added value: creating tolerant, fair and respectful European citizens/cultivating long-

lasting European traditions.

Tuesday, October 9th

Learning/teaching session for students:

- Chemistry in the kitchen – Pupils had workshops in chemistry laboratory. they will do some

experiments with food products, trying to explain the reactions happening and their influence on

human body (session prepared by the Romanian teachers).

Activity’s added value: to raise European awareness/ present the national culture and traditions/

integrate Europeans

**Training sessions for teachers

- summarizing the first part of the project – preparation. School coordinators were guided on

documents (reports, portfolios, evaluation results and analysis) that would be essential for the

common project assessment (with Poland as the country responsible for the session).

Activities’ added value: - exchange successful methods in teaching with the intention of implementing

some ideas into domestic schools / improve ICT skills

- Tradition in the kitchen – students and teachers took part in the culinary workshops. They learnt how

to make traditional meat products, they were acquainted with their nutritional values and other

advantages.

Wednesday, October 10th

**Coordinators’ meeting – review of the tasks, deadlines and future objectives

**‘European Cuisine Fair’ – Students worked in six international teams. They chose one recipe from

the “Traditional Meals” collection and prepared the dish. The cooking workshops were conducted

outdoors and were open to school and local community as well.

Thursday, October 11th

**Local leisure and health centres – learning the cultural heritage of the host country. A visit to Praid

Salt Mine – students and teachers took part in sport competitions, learnt about the properties of salt

(its advantages, its influence of human health).

**Training session for teachers

- software for creating and editing videos. Teachers were trained on the newest tools useful for project

implementation. The training session was in the form of workshops (with Latvia as the country

responsible for the workshops).

some ideas into domestic schools / improve ICT skills

Friday, October 12th

**Teaching sessions for teachers:

- “Students with learning difficulties”. As the number of students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and

dyscalculia is rapidly growing, the teachers were acquainted with applicable solutions how to deal with

students with such learning disorders (Romania as the country responsible for the session).

Activities’ added value: - exchange successful methods in teaching with the intention of

implementing some ideas into domestic schools / improve ICT skills

**’Foodopedia’ - presentation

Students divided into six international groups gathered information related to chemical compounds

and elements in food: elements & microelements (supervised by Latvia), carbohydrates (supervised by

Poland), proteins (supervised by Spain), fats (supervised by Portugal), vitamins (supervised by

Romania) and water (supervised by Lithuania). In their research students focused on the biochemical

features, the functions in human body and food products containing given nutrients.

During the TTLA students had a chance to compile their research into one common e-book and they

presented their research to the wider school and local community.
