THE 12TH PAN AMERICAN WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIPS GENERAL INFORMATION
The Organizing Committee of the 12th Pan‐American Wushu Championships is responsible for the organization of the 12th Pan‐American Wushu Championships under the sponsorship of the PAWF. A. DATE AND PLACE The 12th Pan American Wushu Championships will be held from October 30 ‐ November 5, 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. (** Please refer to the General Schedule on page 22 for specific information regarding arrival of judges and athletes as those days are different. Competition days will be November 2th to 4th) B. VENUES 1. Competition venue: Polideportivo CASLA “ROBERTO PANDO” – Calles Mármol y Salcedo, Buenos Aires City C. COMPETITION EVENTS
1. Taolu Events: Changquan; Nanquan; Taijiquan; Daoshu; Jianshu; Gunshu; Qiangshu; Nangun; Nandao; Taijijian;
Men’s Xingyiquan; Women’s Baguazhang; Men’s Shuangdao; Women’s Shuangjian; Dual Event (Duilian)
2. Sanda Events: Men’s: 48kg; 52kg; 56kg; 60kg; 65kg; 70kg; 75kg; 80kg; 85kg; 90kg; 90kg+ Women’s: 48kg; 52kg; 56kg; 60kg; 65kg; 70kg; 75kg
D. QUALIFICATIONS 1. All official & provisional PAWF Member Federations/Associations are qualified to participate in the Championships.
2. Only those Federations/Associations which have paid their PAWF annual membership fees for 2016 and 2017 will be permitted to participate in the Championships.
3. New PAWF member federations may be invited to take part in the Championships after their Applications have been accepted by the PAWF. E. ENTRIES 1. Preliminary Entries The Preliminary Entry Forms must state the exact number of competitors taking part in the events. The
Preliminary Entry Forms must reach the PAWF’s Secretariat and the Organizing Committee of the 12th Pan American Wushu Championships no later than 24:00 (Buenos Aires Time) on August 30th , 2018. These must be sent by mail or post to the below address:

2. Final Entry
All final entries must be submitted through the PAWF Online Registration System. All sections of the online entry must be completed in full, including the section for registration of athletes’ movements with degree of difficulty in the relevant online section for those athletes competing in Degree of Difficulty Taolu events. The deadline for the final entry to be completed through the online system is 24:00 (Buenos Aires Time) on September 30th, 2018. Each team is required to print a copy of the submitted entry and present it upon arrival and registration in Buenos Aires.
3. Online Registration System URL: www.pawuf.org 4. Late entries are subject to the approval of the Organizing Committee of the 12th Pan‐American Wushu Championships and if accepted are subject to a late‐entry fee of US$100.00 per participant.
F. ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION
1. All participating teams are required to check‐in at the Organizing Committee of the 12th Pan‐American Wushu Championships no later than 24:00 (Buenos Aires Time) on October 30th, 2018. 2. Upon arrival, all teams are required to:
i. Pay the outstanding participation fees in full.
ii. Submit each participants duly completed waiver of liabilities, proof of insurance and relevant
medical certificates.
iii. Confirm their Registration Form for Movements with Degree of Difficulty of Optimal Routines.
3. All judges are required to arrive and register at the designated registration booth on October 30th, 2018.
G. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS Each participating Taolu Team may submit IWUF or PAWF Grade A Certified Taolu Judges who are holding a valid certificate at the time of the competition. Each participating Sanda Team may submit IWUF Certified or PAWF Grade A Certified Sanda Judges who are holding a valid certificate at the time of competition. All International Judges must present their valid certificates issued by IWUF or PAWF to the Organizing Committee upon registration. Judges must have participated in and passed the examination of the 2014, 2016, or 2018 IWUF International Judges Examination Course in order to qualify to judge at the 12th PAWF. The team judges are encouraged to participate in a refresher Judges Training course that will be held from October 31th to November 1th 2018. H. TECHNICAL MEETING The Technical Meeting for team managers and coaches will take place at 07:00 pm (Buenos Aires Time) on November 1th, 2018 during which all matters related to the competition will be announced. Each team should send two representatives for Taolu and two representatives for Sanda to attend the meeting. I. DRAWING – LOTS CEREMONY The drawing‐lots of the 12th Pan‐American Wushu Championships will be conducted by the PAWF Technical Committee at 07:00pm (Buenos Aires Time) on November 1th, 2018. Each team may send two Taolu and two Sanda representatives to attend the ceremony. The PAWF Technical Committee will draw on behalf of the teams that are unable to send a representative.

J. WEIGHING‐IN 1. The initial weighing‐in for Sanda athletes will take place at 07:00am (Buenos Aires Time) on November 1th,
2018. All Sanda athletes will be required to weigh‐in one time during all competition. Details regarding this will be circulated at a later time once finalized.
K. PLACING AND AWARDS 1. Taolu: ‐ 1st place Gold Medal & Certificate ‐ 2nd place Silver Medal & Certificate ‐ 3rd place Bronze Medal & Certificate ‐ 4th – 8th place Certificate 2. Sanda: ‐ 1st place Gold Medal & Certificate ‐ 2nd place Silver Medal & Certificate ‐ 3rd place (juxtaposition) Bronze Medal & Certificate L. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS 1. The international airfare and related travel expenses, as well as accommodations/participation fees shall be borne by the teams themselves. The accommodation/participation fees are as follows:
‐ Athletes:
US$ 65 participation fee + US$ 100 per person per day (double room) 4 Star Hotel
US$ 65 participation fee + US$ 160 per person per day (single room) 4 Star Hotel
US$ 65 participation fee + US$ 90 per person per day (double room) 3 Star Hotel
US$ 65 participation fee + US$ 140 per person per day (single room) 3 Star Hotel
‐ Judges, Team Officials and Observers:
US$ 100 per person per day (double room) 4 Star Hotel
US$ 160 per person per day (single room) 4 Star Hotel
US$ 90 per person per day (double room) 3 Star Hotel
US$ 140 per person per day (single room) 3 Star Hotel
‐ The above fees include continental breakfast, lunch, dinner, hotel accommodations and ground transportation from and to the airport. The participating teams shall pay their full participation fee to the Organizing Committee of the 12th PAWF upon arrival & registration.
2. The Organizing Committee will arrange the accommodation and transportation for participating teams
from 02:00 pm October 30th , 2018 to 12:00 pm October 31th , 2018 (CST). If any teams arriving earlier or departing later than the required date, they should inform the Organizing Committee to arrange their accommodation before September 30th, 2018.
3. The PAWF and the Organizing Committee require that all participating teams lodge at the designated
hotel arranged by the Organizing Committee. 4. Transportation to and from the venue will be provided ONLY from the designated hotel.

5. Payment Methods
Participating teams are requested to pay the relevant participation fees by international bank transfer simultaneously with their final entry submission, proof of which should be sent to the Organizing Committee by email and brought along to Buenos Aires, Argentina by the Team Leader. Teams that are unable to pay by international bank transfer must pay their relevant participation fees in total to the Organizing Committee upon arrival in Buenos Aires.
M. DOPING CONTROL
Doping control will be conducted during the 12th Pan‐American Wushu Championships according to the requirements of the IOC and World Anti‐Doping Agency, and will follow the procedure prescribed in the IWUF Anti‐Doping Rules. The number of tests will be decided by the IWUF. If an athlete is found to have positively doped through the doping process, he/she will be dealt with in accordance with the IWUF Anti‐Doping Rules.
N. OTHER MATTERS Each team is required to bring the following:
1. 3 National flags, regional flags or federation flags (1mx2m);
2. Their national anthem or federation song on USB;
3. 3 color photos (passport size) per team member;
4. Printed and stamped Final Entry Form;
5. Valid Health Certificates of all athletes and Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate (country or region);
6. Completed and signed 12th PAWF “Waiver of Liabilities” for each participant;
NOTE: Some of the above items will be required to be submitted online digitally prior to arrival. Information Regarding this will be circulated in due course.

A. COMPETITION EVENTS
1. Optional Bare‐hand Routines: Changquan, Nanquan, Taijquan
2. Compulsory Bare‐Hand Routines: Changquan, Nanquan, Taijquan (3rd Set of International Compulsory
Routines)
3. Traditional Bare‐hand Routines: Men’s Xingyiquan, Women’s Baguazhang
4. Optional Short Weapon Routine: Daoshu, Jianshu, Nandao, Taijijian
5. Optional Long Weapon Routine: Gunshu, Qiangshu, Nangun
6. Traditional Weapon Routine: Men’s Shuangdao(Double Broadsword) Women’s Shuangjian (Double
Straight Sword).
7. Dual Event: 2 – 3 athletes, men and women cannot be mixed
B. PARTICIPATION METHODS
1. Each country may enter one (1) team.
2. Each team shall be composed of maximum twenty four (24) members, including one (1)team leader, two
(2) coaches, one (1)doctor, twenty (20) competitors‐ : ten (10) men and ten (10) women for optional
routines.
3. Each competitor may enter a maximum four (4) Taolu Competition Events
‐ One (1) Optional Bare‐Hand Routine or one (1) Compulsory Bare‐Hand Routine;
‐ Two (2) routines from the following:
Optional Short Weapon Routine: Daoshu, Jianshu, Nandao, Taijijian;
Optional Long Weapon Routine: Gunshu, Qiangshu, Nangun;
Traditional Routine: Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Shuangdao, Shuangjian
‐ Male competitors may only compete in Xingyiquan for Traditional Bare‐Hand Routine and
Shuangdao (Double Broadsword) for Traditional Weapon Routine;
‐ Female competitors may only compete in Baguazhang for Traditional Bare‐Hand Routine and
Shuangjian (Double Straight Sword) for Traditional Weapon Routine;
‐ Duel Events: Each team may at most enter one of the dual events (either men’s or women’s).
4. The Registration of Degree of Difficulty for Optional Routines shall be submitted before 24:00 (Buenos
Aires Time) on September 30th, 2018 through the online registration system when submitting the full
entry for a team.
5. Each competitor must bring along with them a valid Health Certificate (including electrocardiogram, pulse
and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior to the start date of the competition signed by a qualified
doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate valid for the entire duration of their stay in
Buenos Aires. Should the health certificate and/or medical report be in a language other than English, it is
required that the IWUF medical form be completed in English, signed and stamped. All competitors are
required to submit a completed and signed waiver of liabilities form.
C. COMPETITION METHODS
1. Competition includes individual competition only.
2. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in accordance with
the” IWUF Rules for International Wushu Taolu Competition”(2005).
3. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the PAWF.

4. Long weapon routines of optional events such as Gunshu, Qiangshu and Nangun will implement the
“Scoring Method and Criteria for Degree of Difficulty of Movements of Optional Routines”.
5. Optional and Compulsory Events: These divisions will implement the “Scoring Method and Criteria for
Degree of Difficulty of Movements of Optional Routines”.
‐ Optional Events: Within a single routine, an athlete may register and perform a degree of
difficulty jumping technique of the same grade at most two (2) times, however in such cases the
degree of difficulty connection technique for these jumps may not be repeated. (e.g. within a
single optional routine an athlete may register and perform XuànFēngJiăo360° (Tornado Kick
360°) at most two (2) times, but the degree of difficulty connection techniques for these may not
be the same, they should be two (2) different connection techniques.
6. All athletes are required to execute their optional routine’s relevant compulsory/mandatory techniques as
stipulated in the rules. Failure to do so will result in deductions as stated in the rules.
7. For Traditional Bare‐Hand Routines, Traditional Weapon Routines and Duel Events “Scoring Method and
Criteria for Non‐Degree of Difficulty of Movements” will be implemented.
8. For Traditional Bare‐Hand Routines (Xingyiquan & Baguazhang) and Traditional Weapon Routines
(Shuangdao & Shuangjian), the following will be implemented:
a. The total routine duration must be between one (1) minute (including one minute) and two (2)
minutes (including two minutes).
b. The traditional practice methods of different regions, different clans and stylistic differences
between generations of traditional Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Shuangdao and Shuangjian may all
be employed within these competition events respectively. For example: Xingyi Lianhuan Quan
(Five Elements Fists), Shi Er Xing Quan (12 Animal Forms), Xingyi Lianhuan Quan (Xingyi’s Linking
Forms); Baguazhang’s Laoba Zhang (8 Old Palms), Lianhuan Zhang (Linking Palms); to traditional
Shuangdao methods; traditional Shuangjian methods etc. may all be employed respectively.
9. Accompanying music is required for Taijiquan and Taijijian optional routines which must be uploaded
through the online registration system with each team’s final entry submission. Music is not required for
compulsory Taijiquan or Taijijian routines. Music with vocals and lyrics is not permitted.
10. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the PAWF. In the event of discrepancies in the
interpretation of the Rules, the Chinese Text shall prevail.
D. COSTUMES & EQUIPMENT
1. Competitors shall wear Wushu competition costumes in compliance with the Rules during all events.
This must be brought & prepared by the competitors themselves.
2. All weaponry must conform to the requirements as stipulated in the Rules. This must be provided by
the competitors.
E. PLACING & AWARDS Awarding for Men’s and Women’s Taolu events will be respectively as follows:
1. 1st – 8th place: The number of competitors is 10 and above in a single division.
2. 1st – 3rd place: The number of competitors is between 6 – 9 in a single division.
3. 1st – 2nd place: The number of competitors is between 3 – 5 in a single division.
4. No placing or awards will be bestowed if the number of competitors in a single event comprises of 2 (two)
or less competitors.

B. PARTICIPATION METHODS
1. Each country or region may enter one (1) team.
2. Each team shall be composed of maximum twenty‐two (22) members, including one (1) team leader, one
(1) coach, one (1) team doctor, eighteen (18) competitors (11 men and 7 women).
3. Each team may enter only one (1) athlete per weight category.
4. Only competitors between 18 and 40 full years of age, born between 01/01/1978 & 31/12/2000, will be
accepted. 5. Each competitor should bring along with them a valid Health Certificate (including electroencephalogram,
electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior to the start of the competition signed by a qualified doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate valid for the entire duration of their stay in Buenos Aires. Should the health certificate and/or medical report be in a language other than English, it is required that the IWUF medical form be completed in English, signed and stamped. All
competitors are required to submit a completed and signed waiver of liabilities form. C. COMPETITION METHODS

1. The competition will be Individual Competition.
2. The single knockout system will be adopted. If the number of competitors is three (3), a single round –
robin method will be adopted.
3. Following arrival and registration, the athletes will go through the initial weighing in and drawing lots
formalities as stipulated in the schedule.
4. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in accordance with
the “IWUF Rules of International Wushu Sanda Competition”(2017).
5. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the PAWF. In the event of discrepancies in the
interpretation of the Rules, the English Text shall prevail.
D. COSTUMES AND EQUIPMENT
1. Each competitor must possess two (2) sets of costumes: one (1) set in blue and one (1) set in red.
2. Each competitor is required to possess their own mouth guard, jockstrap, and instep guard.
3. Gloves and protective equipment will be provided by the Organizing Committee.
4. Competitors of the Islamic faith are required to prepare their competition costumes in line with the
relevant article within the “IWUF Wushu Sanda Competition Rules & Judging Method 2017”.
E. PLACING & AWARDS
1. The top three place athletes within each weight category will receive a placing and award for both men
and women.
2. Third place athletes will be placed in juxtaposition.

A. COMPETITION EVENTS
1. Group A: Group A athletes are permitted to either perform the 3rd set of InternationalCompetition
Routines or compile optional routines. The optional and compulsory routines will be in separate events. Optional Routines: Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Taijiquan, Taijijian, Nanquan, Nandao,
Nangun; Duilian
Compulsory Routines: Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Taijiquan, Taijijian, Nanquan,
Nandao, Nangun; (3rd Set of International Compulsory Routines)
2. Group B: Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu (1st Set of International Competition Routine),
42 Forms Taijiquan, 42 Forms Taijijian, Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun (International Compulsory Routine).
3. Group C: Changquan (No. 3 Elementary Routine), Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu (Elementary Routine
compiled by the IWUF). Each may enter a maximum two (2) Competition Events; (Changquan and either
one [1] Short Weapon Routine or one [1] Long Weapon Routine).
B. PARTICIPATION METHODS
1. Each country may enter one (1) team.
2. Each team shall be composed of maximum thirty four (34) members, including one team leader, two
coaches, one doctor, and following competitors:
a. Group A: 10 competitors (5 boys and 5 girls, who were born between January 1,2000 –
December 31, 2002)
b. Group B: 10 competitors (5 boys and 5 girls, who were born between January 1,2003 –
December 31, 2005)
c. Group C: 10 competitors (5 boys and 5 girls, who were born between January 1,2006 –
December 31, 2011) 3. Each competitor of Group A may enter a maximum four (4) Competition Events (1 Empty Hand Routine, 1
Short Weapon Routine, 1 Long Weapon Routine, and 1 Dual Event).
4. Each competitor of Group B may enter a maximum three (3) Competition Events (1 Empty Hand Routine ,
1 Short Weapon Routine, and 1 Long Weapon Routine).
5. Each competitor of Group C may enter a maximum two (2) Competition Events (Changquan and 1 Short
Weapon Routine or 1 Long Weapon Routine).
6. A competitor cannot compete in both the junior and adult divisions.
7. Each team may at most enter one of the dual events (either men’s or women’s).
8. Each competitor should bring along with them a valid Health Certificate (including electrocardiogram,
pulse and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior to the start of the competition signed by a qualified
doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate. All competitors are required to submit a
completed and signed waiver of liabilities form, which has been signed by the competitor’s parent or legal
guardian.

C. COMPETITION METHODS 1. Competition includes individual competition only.
2. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted inaccordance with
the 2005 edition of the “IWUF Rules for International Wushu TaoluCompetition” and utilize the Non‐
Degree of Difficulty Scoring Method (comprising of A Group –Quality of Movements Scoring & B Group –
Overall Performance Scoring only).
3. Time Limits:
a. Group A: For Changquan, Daoshu, Gunshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Nanquan, Nangun & Nandao each
routine’s duration shall be no less than one minute and twentyseconds (1min 20s).
b. For Taijiquan and Taijijian, each routine’s duration shall be between three (3) and four (4)
minutes.Group B Taijiquan & Taijijian Routines: 42 Forms Taijiquan: 5‐6 minutes; 42 Forms Taijijian
Routine: 3‐4 minutes.
c. There is no time requirement for other events.
4. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the PAWF.
D. COSTUMES AND EQUIPMENT
1. Competitors shall wear Wushu competition costumes in compliance with the Rules during all events. This
must be brought & prepared by the competitors themselves.
2. All weaponry must conform to the requirements as stipulated in the Rules. This must be provided by the
competitors.
E. PLACING & AWARDS Awarding for Boys and Girls Taolu events will be respectively as follows:
1. 1st – 8th place: The number of competitors is 10 and above in a single division.
2. 1st – 3rd place: The number of competitors is between 6 – 9 in a single division.
3. 1st – 2nd place: The number of competitors is between 3 – 5 in a single division.
4. No placing or awards will be bestowed if the number of competitors in a single event comprises of 2 (two)
or less competitors.

A. COMPETITION EVENTS Junior Sanda Competition – 15 to 17 (including 17) years of age
1. Boys Sanda Events: o 48 kg o 52 kg o 56 kg o 60 kg o 65 kg o 70 kg o 75 kg o 80 kg
2. Girls Sanda Events:
o 48 kg o 52 kg o 56 kg o 60 kg
Children's Sanda Competition – 12 to 14 (including 14) years of age
1. Boy’s Sanda Events: o 42 kg o 45 kg o 48 kg o 52 kg o 56 kg
B. PARTICIPATION METHODS
1. Each country or region may enter one (1) team. Each team shall be composed of maximum twenty‐one (21) members including: one (1) team leader, two (2) coaches, one (1) doctor and seventeen (17) competitors (13 boys and 4 girls)
o Junior Sanda Athletes (Maximum 12 athletes) o A maximum of eight (8) boys and four (4) girls who were born between January 1, 2001 – December 31, 2003.
o Children’s Sanda Athletes (Maximum 5 athletes) o A maximum of five (5) boys who were born between January 1, 2004 – December 31, 2006.
3. Each team may enter only one (1) athlete in each category. 4. Each competitor must bring a Health Certificate (including electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram, pulse, and blood pressure) issued within 30 days before the event date and certificate of Life Insurance and the Waiver of Responsibilities.
C. COMPETITION METHODS
1. The competition will be Individual Competition. 2. The single knockout system will be adopted. If the number of competitors is three (3), a single round – robin method will be adopted.

1. Competitors shall wear costumes and protective gear in compliance with the “IWUF Wushu Sanda Competition Rules & Judging Method 2017” to participate in the competition. 2. Each competitor must possess two (2) sets of costumes: one (1) set in blue and one (1) set in red. 3. Each competitor is required to possess their own mouth guard, jockstrap, and instep guard. 4. In consideration of Federación Argentina de Wushu Kungfu (FAWK) accepting my application, I hereby assume all risk of physical and mental injuries, disabilities and losses which may result from or in connection with my participation in the 12th Pan American Wushu Championships. The 12th Pan American Wushu Championships is hosted by Pan American Wushu Federation (PAWF) and organized by FAWK, hereafter PAWF and FAWK collectively refer as the “Organizing Committee”, acting for myself, heirs, personal officers, agents, representatives and assignees, I do hereby release the Organizing Committee, its officers, agents, representative, volunteers, and other related members from all claims, actions, suits, and controversies at law or in equity by reason of any matter, cause or thing whatsoever that I may sustain as a result of or in connection with my participation in the 12th Pan American Wushu Championships. I fully understand that all medical attention or treatment afforded to me by the Organizing Committee its officers, representatives, volunteers, and all other related members will be of the first aid only, and hereby release the Organizing Committee its officers, representatives, volunteers, and all other related members from any liability for such aid.
