“Followers of Jesus do not serve to get awards or accolades. Jesus’ disciples need to serve out of love and thankfulness to him. Serving god is a matter of grace alone. Grace and gratitude are part of the harvest in the kingdom of God. Jesus, help us to see that you work with small things so that the glory goes to God alone. I want to serve you because you first loved me. Your grace is enough.” From Today

VBS is fast approaching. We are in need of a teacher for five year olds, for first grade and for fifth grade. We also need helpers for fifth grade and middle school, as well as one nursery worker for Wednesday and Thursday night. If you are able to help, please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you! Also, thanks to all of you who have already signed up.

Our heavenly Father, we pray for Mary Dracht, Dave VanHaitsma,

Ken Meyering, Dawn Richardson, Carol Niver, Vicki Mosher, Dave

Westmaas, Matt and Carrie Thompson and family, Marilyn Ouwinga,

Gordon DeHaan, and Dick Bruno. Comfort them and give each of them

joy your resurrection offers. In your name we pray. Amen from Today

Do you have an extra hammer or two you could loan? VBS is in need of hammers to do a craft project and would like to borrow some. If you can loan yours, please put your name on it and leave it in the church office on the counter. It will be returned after VBS. Thank you for your help. For those of you who are unable to physically be here for VBS, but would still like to support the program, you may do so by providing snacks. A sign-up sheet is on the information table in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you for your generosity. Is it possible you have lost something, but didn’t realize it? Please check the table in the Fellowship Hall for any Lost and Found items that may be yours. Dishes, towels, a cute backpack, a tie, a sticker book, assorted cups, colored pens, etc. all have been left. Whatever is not claimed will be donated to Friends Ministry. Thank you. A HUGE THANK YOU to all who came out for the wood cutting bee last week! It was a great surprise and we really are humbled by the amount of help, thoughts and prayers you all have offered over the last two months. Every day presents new hurdles, so we covet your on-going prayers and are so thankful to be a part of this church and this community. Matt, Carrie, Leah, Ben and Claire. The Sixth annual “Paint the Town Black” 5K Run/Walk and 1K Fun Run/Walk, which is open to all ages, will be Saturday, August 4th beginning and ending at NMCS. This event is being hosted by the family of Kelly VanHouten, who lost his battle with this disease in 2013.
