To help protect your company from unnecessary state unemployment insurance charges, you should ask yourself the following questions before you terminate an employee:

What To Do When You Receive:

• Claim for Unemployment Benefits –Faxtheunemploymentclaimand Unemployment Compensation Services Separation Record to ADPusing the appropriate state fax number immediately. ADP requires aminimumofthree(3)businessdayspriortotheduedatetoensuretimely compliance. If the deadline is short, contact the UnemploymentCompensationServiceshotlinebeforefaxing.Failuretorespondtimelycan result in unwarranted charges against your account and unnecessarypenalties.

• Claim Determination or Decision for Unemployment Benefits – Faxall claim determinations to ADP immediately. A UCS Team member willcontact you to discuss the case. ADP can file appeals on your behalf foran additional fee.

• Hearing Notice – FaxallhearingnoticesanddecisionstoADPimmediately. Hearing representation can be arranged for an additionalfee. Early receipt is essential to securing a representative to attend thehearing with you.

• State Inquiry – Advise the state that ADP is your authorized agent forUnemployment matters and provide them with ADP’s State Call Desktelephonenumber888-612-6544.Wewillrespondtothestateonyourbehalf.

• Benefit Charge Statements – FaxallchargestatementstotheUnemployment Compensation Services department at ADP so they maybe reviewed for errors.

• Tax Rate Notice – Faxyourstateunemploymenttaxratenoticeuponreceipt so the components used to calculate your tax rate may beverified.

All Unemployment Compensation Services correspondence submitted to ADP should be submitted to the appropriate fax number below and should contain your RUN payroll code, company name, contact telephone number and be labeled, “Unemployment Compensation Services.”

Let’s Get Started!

Step 1: Gathering Your Information Your Implementation Specialist will call you within twenty-four business hours of receipt of your sales order. The following information will be needed to run your payroll:

During the Welcome Call your Implementation Specialist will explain their role and will:

Step 3: Payroll Setup Review

Once your Implementation Specialist has confirmed that your payroll setup is complete: The Implementation Specialist will phone you to review your payroll details, review your employee data and train you on the services you chose.Thissessionwilltakeapproximately20-45minutes,dependinguponyourspecificneeds.

Step 4: Reviewing Your Payroll Information

Your Implementation Specialist will contact you after you have processed your first payroll to review the reports available to you, show you where you can find specific information, and answer any questions you may have.

Step 5: Meeting Your Client Service Team

After your second payroll, you will be introduced to your Client Service team. This knowledgeable team of representatives will beavailabletoassistyouintheeventyouhaveaquestion.TheyareavailableMondaythroughFridayfrom8:30AMto8:30PM,EasternStandard Time, excluding holidays.
