INTRODUCTIONTO FLIFF
In 1986, a small group of civic-minded art & business lovers joined forces to create The Greater Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, which is known today as The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF). Their vision was to launch an event that would bring outstanding films to Fort Lauderdale while creating a venue that would garner attention to the city as a world class tourist destination; a mecca of entertainment and hospitality amidst a backdrop of swaying palms and sunlit skies. In the process, hotel room nights, restaurants and shopping, newspaper ad spending, printing, TV spots and radio time would generate revenue to new heights.
The first three years featured a modest 12-15 films each, over a seven-day time-frame. Most could not foresee that such an underwhelming beginning would eventually blossom into an international spectacle, and the biggest motion picture event in the Southeastern United States.
The Festival grew from the original seven-day salute to 38 days, and is currently geared for a 17-day celebration with over 200 films from 40 countries. Notoriety spanned locally
from Fort Lauderdale, Pompano, Sunrise, Weston, Davie, and Hollywood to neighboring towns from Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Amelia Island, Tallahassee, to High Point (NC) and the Bahamas. Two uniquely wonderful year-round cinemas were created, bringing hundreds of thousands in additional outside revenue into Broward County.
We take extreme pride that we are your film festival and share in the excitement as we invite you to be our sponsor for our fourth decade of dazzling entertainment in S. Florida.

INTRODUCTION
TO FLIFF
Chairman of the BoardJIM NORTON
First, my sincere thanks to our Immediate Past Chairman, Doug Solomon, who lead the organization over the past two years and left the organization in much better shape than he inherited. Thanks to Doug’s leadership we are on course to be an integral event for the city and Broward County. We owe a debt of gratitude for Doug’s constant support of all things FLIFF. We are excited to welcome film lovers and filmmakers to our 32nd Anniversary of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival - FLIFF! We welcome first time attendees who will be able to see exceptional movies and meet the actors, producers and directors. You will be joined by our long-time supporters, who’s ongoing commitment has made this enduring legacy possible! FLIFF is a non-profit cultural icon through its three decades of existence. A true grass roots venture, our film festival has grown from an idea by a handful of visionaries in
1986, without a theater of its own, to an internationally recognized cultural event and year-round exhibitor of fine films operating in its two theaters – The “Savor Cinema” in Fort Lauderdale and “Cinema Paradiso” in Hollywood, Florida.” FLIFF presents a unique opportunity to view movies in an intimate setting and allows sponsors and participants to attend events and “meet and greets” with the film makers as well as the celebrities. All our films will excite a variety of viewing preferences and be high quality entertainment. Many of our past films have been acclaimed as Award Winners on a variety of levels – including the Oscars. At Cinema Paradiso, thanks to our CEO and President, Gregory von Hausch - the great Jedi Warrior – our force for good, and the creative genius behind all of this - and Bonnie Leigh Adams, our talented Senior Program Director, we have consistently screened for you the best independent and foreign films before their availability in other venues and before they achieve Golden Globe and Academy Award recognition, as they often do. None of this could have come to fruition without the solid support of our members, State and Broward County grants, assistance from the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood
and Sunrise, and especially the very generous financial support of the hundreds of contributors, sponsors, and advertisers we so rely upon to keep this festival flourishing, year after fabulous year. We feel confident that what you see will inspire you to join them in support of FLIFF with any one of our sponsorship opportunities. We are excited to present a first-class festival with a celebration of film. There are many ways to “Elevate Your Brand” personal or corporate, by connecting and being a sponsor of FLIFF, which will certainly become the Talk of the Town!
We invite you to experience a series of quality films from all over the world, enjoy our many first-class events throughout the year and to become a Sponsor.
MISSION STATEMENTBringing people together year round, using Cinema to educate and inspire while showcasing the best in filmmaking.
VISION STATEMENTFrom independent and world cinema to documentaries and student films, the diversity of work spotlighted by three decades of festivals and events will continue to make a significant cultural and economic impact on the communities of South Florida.

MARKETINGOPPORTUNITIES
1. FLIFF CATALOGThe FLIFF Catalog is an award-winning, 150 page, glossy, full-color publication; as much of a keepsake as it is the festival’s directory.
Unlike a newspaper or magazine that has a short shelf life, the catalog is carried and referred to daily by attendees for the duration of the festival. The printing is completed by October 1st and filmmakers all over the world receive a copy by mail.
The catalog features a comprehensive look at:
• Which Stars Are Attending• The Who, What, Where• The Films• The Parties• The Venues
The Sun-Sentinel prints an 8-page special section of signature parties and special FLIFF guests in the October 6th SCENE AROUND and a 52-Page version of the complete catalog in the October 27th Showtime. Each of these sections reaches an average of 167,000 households.
A PDF version of the catalog is included in every eBlast and emailed to all members, single ticket buyers, and interested cinema buffs throughout Florida, across the nation and around the world.
Your logo and photo (depending on level) will be included on the catalog cover, appropriate Sponsor Page, and Film Page on FLIFF.com, plus a glossy color ad. The catalog will be distributed throughout South Florida (October 5 – November 19, 2017) and in St. Augustine (January 2018). Distribution will also take place at the 2017 Tribeca and Cannes Film Festivals.

2. FLIFF POSTEROur Official Poster is unveiled at the annual party. The party celebrates both the artist and model, as well as the sponsors whose logos are featured on the finished work.
The poster is displayed at major film festivals and film schools around the world. It also serves as the boilerplate for print and TV ads, and is featured on the cover of the catalog.
Your logo will be featured on the poster. The Title Sponsor will be showcased at the very top of the poster.

For the first five years, the FLIFF poster featured Ohio artist TP Speer’s whimsical animal cartoons. These colorful images created quite a buzz, establishing a branding for the young festival, which greatly aided the event’s development.
1986Individual artists, advertising agencies, the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and the Graphics School at Florida Atlantic University designed our poster eliciting an eclectic palate of styles.
1991FLIFF Board member and world-renowned photographer, Peter Langone shot images of the South Florida lifestyle, capturing the beach, waterways, and a beautiful model, creating a FLIFF poster signature look enjoyed through 2014.
1998Zimmerman Advertising CEO, Michael Goldberg, also a FLIFF Board member, created the fabulous image for our 30th anniversary. Additionally, Ken Perna, our catalog graphic artist, captured our 30-year history with a collage of celebrities who have graced FLIFF over the years.
