Thriving in Complex Classrooms:

Basic Training Survival Kit for Teachers

Teachers are facing an onslaught of demanding initiatives that promise to improve student achievement but require more sophisticated teaching and management skills of teachers. This one-day session focuses teachers and other educators on the cultural context in which these initiatives work and provides some specific tactics for teachers to equip themselves for the coming school year. While the day does not provide detailed and specific strategies for every classroom, it does equip teachers with some tactics to systematically implement effective instructional strategies as well as to meet the professional criteria of Danielson’s Framework for Teaching. The day will be engaging and highly participatory allowing teachers to drive the agenda.
