Entries must be submitted within 18 months of first sale.

Entries cannot have been previously entered in this contest.

Empty entries are preferred; Filled entries should be packed in leak-proof plastic to prevent damage to other entries. (Consider replacing contents with colored water.)

NACD Category Descriptions:

1.) Beverage – This category encompasses all aspects of liquid consumable products including but

not limited to Dairy Products such as Milk or Drinkable Yogurt, Juice, Soft Drinks, Liquor, Beer,

Wine, Water, Energy Drinks, and Diet Drinks etc. Packages entered into this category should fall

into one of these markets.

2.) Cosmetic - This category encompasses all aspects of Make-up, Compacts, Blush, Eyeliners, Eye

Shadow, Lipstick, Liquid Foundations, Cream Foundations, Lip Gloss, Lip Liner, Pressed Powder,

Lose Powder, Mascara, Eyelash Treatments, Eyelash Growth Products, Eyebrow Products,

Theatrical Makeup Products, and Facial Glitter Products. Packages entered into this category

should fall into one of these markets.

3.) Personal Care - This category encompasses all aspects of Hair Care, Skin Care, Hair and Scalp

Treatment Products, Perfumes, Baby Wipes, Facial Wipes, Topical Treatments, Lotions, Serums,

Sun-Tanning Products, Nail Care, Feminine Hygiene Products, Essential Oils, Bath Products,

Liquid Hand Soap, and Men’s and Women’s Shaving Products. Packages entered into this

category should fall into one of these markets.

4.) Drug and Pharmaceutical - This category encompasses all aspects of Medicated Topical

Treatments, Over The Counter Medications, Fungal Treatments, Prescription and Over the

Counter Tablets, Cold Medications, Mouthwash, and Salves, etc. Packages entered into this

category should fall into one of these markets.

5.) Food– This category encompasses all aspects of Non-Liquid Consumable Food Products,

including but not limited to, Dairy Products, Yogurt, Dry Goods, Cereals, Snack Items, Sauces,

Jellies, Jams, Condiments, Pasta Sauces, Chewing Gum, Candy, etc. Packages entered into this

category should fall into one of these markets.

6.) Nutritional- This Category encompasses all aspects of Nutritional Products as well as Nutrition

Related Supplemental Products, including but not limited to Vitamins, Tablets, Soft Gels,

Gummy Vitamins, Protein Powders, Protein Bars, Dry and Liquid Diet Products, Liquid Vitamins,

and Dry and Liquid Herbal Remedies. Packages entered into this category should fall into one of

these markets.

7.) General Industry – This category encompasses all aspects of consumer products for various uses

including but not limited to paint supplies, lawn and garden treatments, pool care supplies,

chemical products, industrial cleaning supplies, janitorial products, and restaurant supply

products, etc. Packages entered into this category should fall into one of these markets.

8.) Household Chemical and Auto –

Items included but not limited to disinfectants, air fresheners, dish soap, furniture

polish, floor polish, bleach, laundry detergent, glass cleaner, disinfecting wipes,

cleansers, and kitchen and bathroom cleaning supplies, etc. Packages entered into this

category should fall into one of these markets.

This category encompasses all aspects of household consumer products, and

automotive care products including but not limited to Motor Oil, Engine Treatments,

Gas Treatments, Exterior and Interior car care products, engine coolant, tire treatments,

upholstery cleaner, gear lubricants, etc.

9.) Pet and Vet – This category encompasses all aspects of pet care and veterinary care products for

the domestic animal care market including but not limited to pet food, flea and tick treatments,

prescription medications, pet shampoo and conditioner, aquarium products, equine care

products, treats, fly spray, litter box supplies, supplements, reptile care products, bird food and

seed products, and exotic pet care supplies, etc. Packages entered into this category should fall

into one of these markets.

10.) Novelty – This category encompasses all aspects of the novelty products market including but

not limited to adult products, e-cigarette liquid products, holiday themed products, magic

products, specialty products, gift sets, consumer goods, electronics, clamshells, cannabis

market, craft and hobby products, memorabilia products, and lifestyle products, etc. Packages

entered into this category should fall into one of these markets.

11.) Best Use of Stock Components – This category encompasses packages from all categories where

no custom tooling was involved in the creation of the package. Components are “stock

packaging” items which have been customized and decorated to create a unique look and brand

identity for the client.. Packages from any of the first ten categories may be entered into this

special category.

12.) Best Use of Custom Packaging – This category encompasses packages that have been made

and created exclusively from custom molds that were built for the client. Packages may be

entered into this category from any of the above categories. If you enter a package into this

category at minimum one major component of the package EG container or closure must be a

custom mold created especially for this project. Packages from any of the first ten categories

may be entered into this special category.
