Lynn Dowling was invited to the stage to play the spoons on a couple of tunes. The audience en- joyed her sound. Lynn just happens to be related to Lyndell Pool! CGG closed out the last 30 minutes of the show with some beautiful harmony. They received a standing ovation after their performance and we look forward to them being regulars. GREAT JOB LADIES! Reminder.. .2017 dues are due…$15 single, $20 couple. You can make checks out to : OTCBGMA 800 Hedyland Ct. If you are the first to email me that you found the other woodstock in the newsletter, you win a $10 gift card. Effective January 31 we will begin our fifth year. And we have a fun and enthusiactic group of people in our association! It was my belief that we would have a membership of two hundred by now. We have always had a steady growth each year and have reached one hundred nineteen members. Our meeting attendance is good and growing. We will continue to make changes to our meeting entertainment to add variety and avoid doing the same old thing. The addition of the Country Grass Girls program has been well received and our membership has asked for their return. In April we will have the Ventura Bottom Feeders band perform. These guys are close friends and some are members of our association. So, I thank you for your attendance and support as we continue to grow in the coming year. Sincerely, Wayne 1

It’s just forfun and anyone can join in the jam session while the rest ofus sit back and enjoy the music after we have shared a greatmeal.. Each month we try to come up with a different themelike Pizza & Pickin’ or Chicken & Pickin’, you get the idea. These dinners have been a fun way for members to meet andget to know each other. I want to thank all the ladies whohelp in the kitchen and the guys too, who help get tables &chairs set up. I appreciate every one of you!!

Ventura ThursdayFarmers Market

Harold & Lyn Heuser started this weekly event withjust the two of them. They invited a few friends to jointhem and now they have a complete band on mostThursdays. Depending on the weather and what every-one has going on, the musicians can number 4 or 5 upto 10 or 11. You never know who is going to s how upbut you can always count on Harold and Lyn to bethere.

The Farmers Market is at Kimball Rd & TelephoneRd. from 3:00-6:30 p.m. The group usually draws acrowd of listeners . The cheering section of Bill &Joann Krebs come and bring their lawn chairs and justsit and enjoy the music. So come on by on a Thursdayafternoon and enjoy the fun.

On this afternoon there were 11 musicians: MarnieVolpe, Jimmy Friery, Bob Bueling, Pat Cronin, Lyn,Wayne, Harold, Kenny Luper, Mary Zangerle, JohnFoster & Lyndell Pool!! Wow!!

The group met Lynn Dowling at theFarmers Market and we call her the“honey lady”. She helps her daughterwith the Honey Booth! She sneaksaway to play with the group when shecan!!

Lynn lives in Santa Paula and also playsthe harmonica. Her late husband waswell known for his artwork & muralsaround town and Lynn helped on manyof the wonderful murals. Her fatherSammy Mason was known for his trickflights out of Santa Paula airport. Lynhas 3 daughters, Heather, Wendi, Laura. 4

ENTERTAINMENTThe Old Country- Grass Band

The Old Country Grass Band Members did 56 performances out in the community in 2016. They always bring a smile topeoples faces and get their toes tappin’ when they sing the old up lifting songs that people remember. The band is verydiverse and bring their individual music style to the performances. You get a little bit of country, a little bit of bluegrassand a little bit of rock n roll!! We now have 4 talented ladies in the band which is awesome! They bring a new dynamicsto the band plus a lot of beauty!! These are pictures of some of the places they have played over the past few months. Weappreciate these volunteers because they provide our main source of income that keeps this organization running.
